Entrance to the 14 targets. This is inside the gates, you will not see this at the entrance to the range!

What a wonderful free outdoor archery range/course. However, let me give you a heads up because it was quite difficult to find the first time coming here. MAKE SURE TO GO ON THEIR WEBSITE TO FIND THE RANGE. You enter through a brown gate that is NOT labeled mentioning an archery range. You park outside on the road, where there's maybe 4-5 spaces around the entrance scattered around. You park outside then walk in through the brown gate entrance. The course is wonderfully laid out and gives you a variety of targets through the 28 target course. You go through the course similar to a golf course. Takes about an hour to finish and you end up walking about a mile or so. It's got some great scenery and you'll even sweat a bit going through 28 targets. This of course is a public range so you must have all your own personal bow and gear!

This was our first time coming to KMA and I absolutely loved it. Simply amazing. If you're familiar with outdoor range shooting this is the perfect course to go shoot on - a perfect blend of shooting and hiking. Best part is it's FREE! The course was beautiful and well maintained. They have some really awesome long range targets, and marked all the yardage. The bales are packed really tight so there's little to no pass through. Few helpful tips: 1. Drive slowly!!! There are loads of bikers on the road, and the roads are narrow in certain spots. So be careful. 2. PARK OUTSIDE THE GATE, unless you're already a member. We had to learn the hard way. When we showed up this morning the gate was unlocked so we went inside and started shooting the course. When we were ready to leave the gate was locked! There were NO signs posted saying that parking is for members only. Just be sure to park outside. Parking is very limited outside said gate, maybe 4 cars. 3. You need to bring your own equipment as there are no rentals for anything. 4. Bring bug spray. lol As silly as this seems, you'll need it. After today, my fiancé and I became members - that whole gate fiasco was not fun.

Nice weekend or team-outting activity. Archery and hiking was pretty fun! Check out Mike's awesome bow.

Nestled in the peaceful surroundings of Los Altos Hills, the setting itself already makes you feel relaxed and focused while enjoying some sunshine. What truly stood out to me was how warm and attentive the coaches were. From the moment I arrived, they made sure I felt comfortable, guided me patiently through the basics, and offered thoughtful tips that actually helped improve my form. One of the Coaches was so funny , I enjoyed my interaction while hitting the bull's eye. It didn't feel rushed or transactional at all-instead, it felt like they genuinely cared about making the experience enjoyable and meaningful. One small but incredibly kind gesture that really stuck with me was that they let me continue practicing for a few extra minutes beyond my session. That level of thoughtfulness and flexibility made the whole experience feel even more special. Whether you're a complete beginner or just looking to try something new, I'd highly recommend this place. It's not just about archery-it's about the experience, the people, and the positive energy they create. I'm definitely looking forward to going back!

Straight Shooter I…read morelike to buy my son experiences for his birthday. Last year I took him and his friends Paintballing and they had a blast. So, this year I figured we'd up the game a little and do some archery. Not willing to go out and buy a whole bow & arrow set, the next logical thing was to look around and see if anyone offers lessons. Well, I didn't have to look far, as Bowhunters Unlimited (BU) made it all too easy. The Good: *Just contact them thru their website and they'll put you in touch with a member that offers lessons. We lucked out and were matched with Linda, whom I believe is the VP of BU. She was terrific. Very patient, but stern, with a group of precocious teenagers. *They offer yearly memberships for $40/year for unlimited shooting. *BU is a private club that operates in a closed off section of Stevens Creek County Park. The area is beautiful and a great spot for outdoor activities. *Small paved lot w/ port-o-potties *The lesson was much, much cheaper than you'd think. $150/4 ppl for 90min is a bargain in this area of the world. This price includes the bows, arrows, and lessons. The Meh: *The drive up is very windy. So if you're really carsick, then this ain't gonna be for you. *Cell phone signal is spotty at best. Sometimes you have signal and sometimes you don't. It's very odd. The Ugly: *Bugs! So many bugs! I don't know what it is about this corner of the park, but we were being harassed severely by some kinda fly. Fortunately they don't bite, but imagine trying to focus on shooting while bugs fly around your face. Fortunately, I had some bug spray in the car, so that helped a lot. Conclusion: Fantastic location to do some fun old-timey outdoor activities of pretending to kill things! Cuz, Merikkka...

The staff are all amazing, and they are very passionate and knowledgeable, so you're never left feeling like you're at it alone, should you need more help and teaching. We came in on a Sunday morning for their 10AM outreach class that went over safety information, instructions on how to hold a bow and positioning of your body, and types of commands, to listen to, that are given out when you're on the range. I believe our instructor's name was Jack, and he was so informative and patient with us. After spending 30 minutes with him, we were fitted for our gear, and led to the range to begin practicing. If you are unsure or your form needs some adjustments, the staff members are always nearby or behind observing everyone. This range has walkable trails that are available to members, but their practicing range gives you a taste of how well-kept the site is. They do have outhouses for restrooms, and parking is free. We were able to enjoy our morning out for just $5 - SCORE! Their website provides ample amount of information regarding hours of operation, outreach program info, and upcoming events at the range. Will be returning soon, and hopefully have the chance to walk their trail ranges in the near future!
