My dog (mini golden-doodle) suffered a broken leg, required emergency surgery and spent 2 nights in the hospital after a grooming appointment at this facility. This was in early September. Our dog was dropped off for services and 5-10 minutes later we received a call that there was an accident. Details were never made clear as to what happened in that 5-10 minute span. This accident ultimately cost over $10,000, months of challenges for our dog and something he may not fully recover from. Initially, the support from All About the Dog was positive and responsive, but in attempting to recover re-imbursement for final medical costs, I was unable to receive a response and am now being directed to an attorney. I will not recommend this location to anyone who values the safety of their animal. read more

Wish I could give -0- stars. I had been going here for years but moved out of state for a few years and returned recently to their location across the street. Something has changed. New owner? They sliced off a part of the pad on my dog's deformed foot (which she needs for balance) which we are still trying to heal. I called the owner and he blamed me and hung up on me. Besides the injury, the grooming was terrible. I could have done it. I am livid and will probably need an additional vet visit. DON'T USE THIS GROOMER. read more

Just brought Maddie in for a walk-in nail trim and the crew here couldn't have been nicer! Maddie gets a bit nervous and while someone clipped her nails, another crew member rubbed her head to keep her calm. He then cleaned her ears while her nails were being filed. I have to revisit my earlier review. I brought my Maltese to All About the Dog a couple of months ago. He came away looking like he'd be shorn except for his head. As I was told, my dog wouldn't let anyone near his head. He soon became a mess, so I took my dog to the regular (more expensive) groomer in Brooklyn, and he came out fabulous! All About the Dog doesn't provide good, consistent grooming experience. read more

Recently moved and had to find a new dog groomer. Was hoping I'd love this place because it's close to home but I probably won't be back. My little guy was cut too short and the staff there that day weren't very friendly and I was almost uncomfortable leaving my dog. Disappointing because I read such good reviews. read more

Took my dog there again and the hair on his face was not cut right. They said, "he couldn't let us around his face". I'm like UM, isn't that your job? 75 bucks later, I'm going to have to take him to his usual groomer. These people are unprofessional and don't know what they're doing. read more

By far the best groomers in Fairfield CT. It is a well run, organized and very clean establishment that has caring, talented groomers. I have a 17 yr old blind and deaf shih tzu that I have brought to them for years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. We use Romara as our groomer. She is an absolute gem. I have 2 poodles now and have had poodles all my life and hands down this is THE #1 best groomer I've been to since 1998. Debbie and crew are very nice, they are extremely talented and totally "get it" when it comes to grooming a poodle properly. I love the way you see them in the shop from the window. She is an excellent groomer and wonderful with my labradoodle and mixed breed. She has groomed them several times and I have been happy with their cuts. Hands down best groomer we've experienced in the Fairfield area. We moved here a bit over a year ago and have been trying lots of the groomers in town with mostly "meh" experiences, and quite frequently being annoyed by several of them being "cash only," seriously?? Who carries CASH?? Welcome to the 21st century people. Anyway, that's their right and it's a PITA for me so I'll avoid them. So let me get back to "All About The Dog," my first impression was a bit like many places where I felt they might not understand me (not everyone here has perfect English.) However I left feeling that they understood me very well and was looking forward to pick up. Also, this place doesn't appear as snazzy as some of the other places I've been but the rest makes up for it in spades... So I get a call 2 1/2 hrs later that they were ready (some places keep the dogs locked in kennels the entire day) so I really appreciated that. I go and the dogs are fabulous. My cocker spaniel (who is usually a mess) was gorgeous and looking like the little lady she is. They were so good about the cocker's cut too, making sure not to take more than needed and to brush out and retain what they could (she had quite a bit of matting.) Our usual experience (at least in CT) was that she would get shaved down EVERYWHERE because a lot of these places get lazy and want to turn dogs around quick. The opposite was true here, they really took their time with the dogs and it showed. Heading out one of my dogs was trying to get behind the counter again, a clear sign that they enjoyed their stay! I called All about the dog in a panic after getting back from the vet with my dog and finding out he had fleas. I have no problem giving my dog a bath, he's very good with baths but I had to get home and clean, bomb my house and the dog couldn't be with me. The owner was very sweet and nice. She had an opening and said they would take care of it. I brought him in and was immediately happy to see everything was out in the open. She was actually grooming a dog while I was there. She greeted my dog and talked about the issue. She was very sweet to Bailey and he immediately reacted in his sweet demeanor. I asked her to give him a haircut if she had time and she said if he dried in time she would. I picked him up a couple hours later and he looked great. She even told me she only found a few fleas on him which eased my mind that my house was not infested. His haircut looked great. He's a small terrier mix so he had alittle a beard cleanup, nail clipping and she also cleaned up the Mohawk he had going on on the back of his neck/shoulder area. I couldn't believe the whole grooming experience only cost $50. I will definitely be back. My dog came home not stressed out at all and smelling brand spankin' new. read more

DO NOT SEND YOUR PET HERE,,,,EVER! The previous owner, Ms. Debbie, was professional, experienced and a genuine pet lover that enjoyed what she did and loved working with all the pets. The new owners, DO NOT have a clue about grooming! It's really sad. My mini schnauzer was sent there and they cut him really close despite the fact I requested that I wanted the standard schnauzer cut and to KEEP HIS BEARD!!!!! When he was picked up he looked the same as 3 other dogs being groomed there, there was pet hair everywhere, & my dog came home with pet hair on him from another dog!!! Never again! read more
