I had a very disappointing experience with this business and would not recommend it based on my experience.
I spoke with Lucy, the owner, the last week to ask about grooming services. After our conversation, she personally told me to bring my two miniature poodles in on July 1st at 11:00 a.m.
When I arrived, Lucy wasn't there and apparently didn't even remember scheduling my appointment. Her assistant called her to let her know I had arrived, and after I reminded Lucy of our conversation, she responded, "Oh yes, I'll be there soon."
The assistant was very kind and professional. She asked questions about how I wanted my dogs groomed, requested photos of how they looked previously, and even took pictures of the reference photos I showed her. I was told the grooming would take about four hours.
At 1:28 p.m., after my dogs had been there for over two hours, Lucy called me. She said my dogs had some matting in certain areas (not all over) and that they either needed a de-matting treatment or would have to be shaved short. I told her I did not want them shaved and asked how much the de-matting treatment would cost. She told me it would be an additional $25.
The pricing is where everything became confusing. During our original conversation, Lucy told me grooming would be around $100 per dog. When I asked what my total would be after the additional treatment, she told me it would be $140 per dog. That made no sense to me. My dogs are both miniature poodles--one weighs only 9.9 pounds and the other 17 pounds. They were not completely matted, yet I was being charged as though they were much larger dogs with severe matting.
When I questioned the price, Lucy told me to come pick up my dogs because she no longer wanted to groom them.
When I arrived, Lucy never came out to speak with me. Instead, she stayed in another room grooming a different dog and sent her assistant to talk to me. I told the assistant I was recording the conversation because I simply wanted clarification about the pricing and why my dogs had been there for over two hours without any grooming being started.
The assistant went to get Lucy. When Lucy finally came out, she refused to explain the price discrepancy or why my dogs had been in her care for over two hours without even having a single nail trimmed. Instead, she simply opened the gate where my dogs were being kept and then walked to the front door of the shop and opened it. I had to quickly grab both of my dogs' leashes because they could have easily run straight out the front door and onto a busy road.
What upset me most was that there was no apparent concern for my dogs' safety during that moment. As a pet owner, I found that incredibly alarming. I would expect any grooming business to prioritize the safety of the animals in their care, regardless of any disagreement with a customer.
At that point, I was standing by the door asking for an explanation. I was not refusing to leave--I simply wanted to understand why my dogs had been kept there for over two hours with nothing done and why the quoted price had changed so dramatically.
Instead of addressing my concerns, Lucy shut the door in my face effectively trapping me inside the shop, and announced that she was calling the police because I was "refusing to leave." While she was on the phone with the police, I clearly stated that I was leaving and that all I wanted was an explanation regarding the time my dogs had been kept there without service and the inconsistent pricing.
The assistant was polite and professional throughout the interaction, and I appreciate how respectfully she treated me. Unfortunately, my experience with the owner was the complete opposite. Poor communication, inconsistent pricing, lack of professionalism, and the way this situation was handled have ensured that I will never return.

Update: The owner responded to my review, and I stand by my experience. I have a video recording of our interaction.
My dogs were not neglected. They are miniature poodles that require routine grooming and receive regular veterinary care. They were simply due for their appointment.
I also disagree with the claim that I did not have an appointment. Lucy told me by phone to come in on July 1 at 11:00 a.m., and when I arrived, she acknowledged our conversation.
The owner also claimed I refused to leave. My video shows I was asked to leave once while I was asking why my dogs had been there for over two hours without any grooming and why the quoted price had changed.
The video also shows the gate to my dogs being opened, followed by the front door. I had to grab my dogs before they could run toward a busy street. It also shows my minor son unable to enter because the door remained locked, even after I told the employee he was outside. read more
