I will not take them anywhere else and I highly recommend them.

Thank you thank you thank you…read more For the last 8 years whenever I took Gracie to the groomer she would come back a complete mess, to the point where she wouldn't sleep or eat for days, we went several times to the vet after having her groomed and it ended up costing us a lot of money it got to the point where we would look for any excuse not to take her to the groomer until it got to the point where she absolutely was in pain from all her hair matting A few days ago we got to that point where we decided she needs to go to the groomer and we reached out on Facebook asking people for a recommendation for a good groomer, close to 90% recommended that we take them to the downtown dog, we where nervous, we knew we are opening a can of warms, we know that we have 2 weeks of broken sleep and hours at the vet ahead of us but we had no choice We dropped off the dogs Monday morning, we where a wreck, we looked for any excuse to call them and see how she is doing (we had both dogs there, but Addison was never a problem) every time we where assured that she is doing fine which was a huge relief. We picked up the dogs expecting to see Gracie shiver and stand at the corner but instead we got a happy dog with its tail wagging excited to see us, at home Gracie right away went to her dish and ate all her pebbles, she fell asleep on her mommy and slept until we got up, she eats she sleeps she is not shivering she is happy and looks so cute with her new haircut. The whole place seemed dirty, dark, and dreary. The salon looks nothing like the Yelp photos. There were piles of dog hair everywhere. My dog does not smell clean at all! She smelled like a dirty moldy crate as soon as I got in the car and the smell is still lingering! I really regret ever bringing my dog here. I don't think she was even bathed! Her nails were barely cut or trimmed. They also charged way more than other places. Stay away from this creepy filthy place! They didn't even have a business sign up. The whole place was a turn off. Very unhappy! Complete waste of money.

A friend mentioned Marta's I was prompted to check them out. After visiting Marta's Vineyard, meeting the wonderfully personable staff and seeing clean, comfortable dog suites my mind was made up. I'm a crazy dog mom so I call them daily to see how they are doing and the staff is always very pleasant and happy to take the call. **DEEPLY UPSETTING GROOMING EXPERIENCE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR A KEESHOND…read more I brought my two Keeshonds to Beau Chien expecting professional, breed appropriate grooming (especially when I was told by Alex he had experience grooming Keeshonds). Unfortunately, this turned into the worst grooming experience me and my two dogs ever had! Keeshonds are a double-coated dog breed and proper grooming requires preserving the coat (especially their signature mane). My female's mane was completely chopped off, drastically changing her appearance and coat structure. She barely resembled a Keeshond and looked more like a Polar Bear. My male's grooming was very concerning to me! About a week and a half (after their grooming appointment at Beau Chien) I took them to get their hair brushed from a groomer who had pointed out to me how thin my males mane was and showed me multiple bald patches on his neck where his hair had clearly been pulled out rather than gently brushed. or properly de-matted. Seeing those areas where his hair was gone had extremely upset me. Prior to their grooming at Beau Chien I had taken them to their regular groomers in Bethel. However, my groomer was fully booked and would not be able to groom them for another month. She came out to see the both of my dogs as she always did and checked their coats (a regular thing she does). I left there and went home. A week later I had taken them to Beau Chien. After this experience at Beau Chien I went back to my regular groomer to show her the chop job they each had. My groomer was in shock (as I had been when I saw my female) when she saw how the female's mane was completely chopped off as well as all her fur too. It looked like she was groomed by EDWARD SCISSOR HANDS! My groomer told me that both my Keeshonds were no where near severely matted and that there was absolutely no need to drastically chop off their hair female's mane and a huge majority of her fur and same with my male. She said that an experienced and patient groomer (familiar with the breed) would have safely brushed through her mane and not have chopped it all off which I agree with her a 100%! When I contacted the owner to discuss what had happened to my two dogs, I was told "It was the Humane thing to do" We are not there to euthanize my dog, we were there for them to get groomed!! I was in shock the owner said that to me! Humane grooming should never result in unnecessary coat removal or bald patches on my dog's throat. This experience left me feeling that there was a lack of breed specific knowledge, poor handling of double-coated dogs. NO WILLINGNESS to ACKNOWLEDGE CLIENT CONCERNS AFTERWARDS. I am sick over this chop job they called grooming
