**DEEPLY UPSETTING GROOMING EXPERIENCE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR A KEESHOND. I brought my two Keeshonds to Beau Chien expecting professional, breed appropriate grooming (especially when I was told by Alex he had experience grooming Keeshonds). Unfortunately, this turned into the worst grooming experience me and my two dogs ever had! Keeshonds are a double-coated dog breed and proper grooming requires preserving the coat (especially their signature mane). My female's mane was completely chopped off, drastically changing her appearance and coat structure. She barely resembled a Keeshond and looked more like a Polar Bear. My male's grooming was very concerning to me! About a week and a half (after their grooming appointment at Beau Chien) I took them to get their hair brushed from a groomer who had pointed out to me how thin my males mane was and showed me multiple bald patches on his neck where his hair had clearly been pulled out rather than gently brushed. or properly de-matted. Seeing those areas where his hair was gone had extremely upset me. Prior to their grooming at Beau Chien I had taken them to their regular groomers in Bethel. However, my groomer was fully booked and would not be able to groom them for another month. She came out to see the both of my dogs as she always did and checked their coats (a regular thing she does). I left there and went home. A week later I had taken them to Beau Chien. After this experience at Beau Chien I went back to my regular groomer to show her the chop job they each had. My groomer was in shock (as I had been when I saw my female) when she saw how the female's mane was completely chopped off as well as all her fur too. It looked like she was groomed by EDWARD SCISSOR HANDS! My groomer told me that both my Keeshonds were no where near severely matted and that there was absolutely no need to drastically chop off their hair female's mane and a huge majority of her fur and same with my male. She said that an experienced and patient groomer (familiar with the breed) would have safely brushed through her mane and not have chopped it all off which I agree with her a 100%! When I contacted the owner to discuss what had happened to my two dogs, I was told "It was the Humane thing to do" We are not there to euthanize my dog, we were there for them to get groomed!! I was in shock the owner said that to me! Humane grooming should never result in unnecessary coat removal or bald patches on my dog's throat. This experience left me feeling that there was a lack of breed specific knowledge, poor handling of double-coated dogs. NO WILLINGNESS to ACKNOWLEDGE CLIENT CONCERNS AFTERWARDS. I am sick over this chop job they called grooming read more

We love Beau Chien! My 2 rescue chows came to us with beautiful, but VERY long coats, and mats behind their ears. One even had mats under her front legs too. After a quick meet and greet, an appointment was scheduled. The staff were SO GREAT with my girls. It was an extensive job they had, I asked for a very short cut, due to the mats, and it being the height of summer. The staff delivered, above and beyond all my expectations. Highly, highly recommend. They are AMAZING. read more

Went in there this morning out of convenience for the first time. Dragged my 6 week old baby out of desperation as I needed my dogs nails clipped but when I got there at 10 am and the place was empty I asked if I needed and app or if they could just clip his nails I was told that the person that was there was alone and couldn't help me and asked me to come back 11/2 later. Her attitude was rude and as if we were bothering her maybe we were as she had to stop looking at the phone. We left and went to the vet office not far and got it done in 5 min. read more

First and Last Time The place was dirty, the staff rude, and the grooming my dog received lacked precision, shape, and balance. The price was exorbitant for what I received. I question the authenticity of yelps recent reviews. read more

Super friendly and professional. Bring my dachshund here all the time. Very competitive prices and better than the chain pet store groomers. read more

I own a cocker-spaniel puppy. He's got lots of hair and he had a flea issue. (Nightmare) I decided to try this place because I was giving my little hairy friend flea baths on my own with shampoo from the vet. Anyway he needed a short cut. They were friendly, helpful and professional. The prices were fair. He looks so cute! Definitely my new doggie washing spot. read more

Beau Chien - Look at this guy! So cute. - Pet Groomers Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

We have received awesome service both times we have gone to Beau Chien. The lady (who I believe is the owner) is friendly, kind, and fast. Took both of our dogs to be groomed and they were done in 3 hours and didn't act traumatized by being there like other places. We recently took my basset hound to get her nails trimmed and the same kind lady fit us in as a walk in and was able to trim and buff all nails in less than 5 minutes (something that usually takes me an hour for 1 paw)! Overall the location is perfect, service is amazing, and my dogs are happy going there! read more

Beau Chien is wonderful! I have a 14 year-old Lab who had never been to a groomer before a few months ago, and has old age issues with his joints. He's now been there three times, and I'm scheduling another visit. The folks at Beau Chien are so gentle and loving with Batman, and accommodate his aging joints. He's always so happy to see them, and happy after being there - and he looks so terrific. I highly recommend Beau Chien! read more

Our dog feels safe going to Carol. She always comes home looking clean and beautiful.

Was referred to Beau Chien for our puppy's first grooming. Could not have been happier with the service we received. Very professional and loving to my lab. I felt very comfortable leaving him for a bath and nail trim, especially when my pup wanted nothing to do with it! In good hands for sure! Competitive prices as well. read more

Love these Ladies! They know their business and don't suffer fools. They took great care of our old beardie for years until she passed last year. Now the new pups are about to start going! read more

I love Beau Chien. I am very fussy with who handles my dogs and I trust Beau Chien. Laddie is a sheltie who has very thick fur and can get matty sometimes. He gets an adorable puppy cut and is always very happy. read more
