We love Dr Cotton. We have been going to her since 2014. I wish she would be my dentist too! My daughter has not inherited my fear of the dentist, thanks to Dr Cotton and her staff over the years. They are always welcoming and almost excited to see us. We've had a lip tie undone, a cavity filled, teeth pulled, cleanings, x-rays, etc and every visit has been great. I've recommended her to many, many people and will continue to do so! read more

I scheduled 4 children to see dr. Cotton, and she was absolutely heart warming and welcoming to my kids. As a parent yours kids comfort in that dental chair is essential, and she made sure to do just that on top of being knowledgeable. She explained each and every difference of all my children including one of them who has special needs. The assistants were also VERY patient and kind. Thank you All About Smiles Pediatrics. read more

Still waiting for them to bill my insurance from my son's procedure that happened August of 2025. They said this could take up to 90 days. Well it's been 6 months and my insurance has yet to see a claim. Of course they required upfront payment which was $600 for the procedure and $89 for the first consult. Insurance was billed for the consult AND paid them, but I have yet to be contacted about receiving a credit because supposedly they have been waiting on the procedure claim to come back (which has yet to be sent to them). Meanwhile, I have emailed them TWICE with no response. Front staff is also incompetent. We rescheduled an appointment but apparently the appointment was never made. They didn't give me paperwork TWICE as we checked in so we then had to wait longer to finish it when it could have been done 20 minutes prior. Although Dr. Cotton was extremely nice and her assistant was so sweet, would still not recommend, especially because my son's lip tie was not fully released. Would give ZERO stars for the lack of ethics if I could and the fact that my son's lip tie was not completely released. read more

Staff and Doctor are friendly and accurate on treatment. I love the environment and precautions taken to ensure my daughter is feels comfortable in the chair (love the nitrous). read more

This is the worst dental practice in terms of ethics, morals and humanity. The old lady doctor made such extremely racist comments about my infant that im still unable to fathom to this day. Ignorance and complete lack of professionalism, incompetent staff who cant handle the systems; she decided to make us wait 1.5hours and we ended up walking out. I still beat my head to this day for staying quiet in hopes of dental care which we obviously never got. read more

We been going to Dr Cotton now for 3 years and it's always a fun experience for us. We didn't like the COVID restrictions they had at first because my daughter would be scared of being alone but glad they got rid of it. They have always been kind to us and we have done a couple procedures with them. We now go every 6 months for Katherinas cleaning. They give you to choose a toothbrush at the end as a gift and they give you a token for the toy machine, when you check out the lady there is extremely lovely and always has this dog with her, her name is Willow. She's the cutest thing on the world so I snagged some pics of her while we pet her. The office is always super clean and I really like the young kid that was helping the doctor. He was a sweetheart and made my daughter feel funny and comfortable. We also got there late because we got stocked in traffic and they were very kind to wait for us as we were the last appointment. read more

My oldest has been a patient of this office for nearly 5 years now. We have never had any issues, Dr. Cotton was always warm and welcoming, explained things in great detail, and the staff is always great! Until this last visit. My 9 year old was due to have a cavity filled. The last time she had it done, she ended up getting sick and feeling yucky the rest of the day. After past procedures she was always ok, and after talking to other dentists it sounds as if she was given too much nitrous. After this experience the thought of using nitrous made her have a little anxiety. She didn't like the smell, just walking into the office set off her nerves because it "smells like the happy gas". I told the staff who took her back to the room our feelings, my daughter wanted to try this without nitrous. 5 minutes later I got called back and my daughter was in tears. Dr. Cotton was visibly upset as well, and said she wouldn't do it without the nitrous, especially since my daughter was upset. She said without it it would only make it worse. I asked if it was something we could try anyway, as the thought of using nitrous was what was making her upset, and Dr Cotton responded saying, "at this point I'm not even going to do this. She is upset, it's Friday and you are the last patient. We are closing and my staff want to go home. This isn't the time to try to persuade her, anesthesia is the best way to go for scaredy cats." IN FRONT of my daughter. The following week I got an text regarding an appointment with an anesthesiologist. My daughter did not want to go back, so we aren't. We have since found another dentist who has worked with my daughter and has eased her mind about nitrous, reassuring her that it's ok and she can decline it if she really wants. read more

HORRIBLE service. They charged us a fortune for my daughter to brush her own teeth and then charged for fluoride and X-rays when none of that was done. We were treated horribly and dr. Cotton was so rude to my son who has sensory issues and was nervous for his first visit. Won't be returning and I don't recommend them one bit. read more

My daughter went to Dr. Cotton when she was very young, but we switched dentists a couple years later due only to logistics (we were much closer to another pediatric dentist's office at that point). My daughter is now 7, and was told by her other dentist that she needed sealants and 2 fillings. In a nutshell, that dentist recommended general anesthesia for this, which we felt was far too drastic a measure for far too simple a procedure. We went back to Dr. Cotton for a second opinion, and couldn't be happier we did! Dr. Cotton assessed my daughter, and said she was confident she would do fine with the sealants and fillings with happy gas alone. She split the appointments into two to make my daughter's time in the chair more manageable, and walked her through each step of the process to help familiarize her with what was coming next and give her a sense of how much longer she had to go. My daughter has always been quite anxious about dental work, but she got through both appointments with ease, thanks to Dr. Cotton's practiced methods, expertise and warmth. After her fillings appointment, my daughter even said, "That was kind of fun!" It was a major gift to have the experience of going to the dentist transformed into a comfortable one in which my daughter felt safe. Even more so, it was a gift to me as a parent to reacquaint myself with a dentist who had faith in my daughter's ability to get through the treatments and who didn't rush to extreme sedation measures as a first choice. Thank you to Dr. Cotton and the entire All About Smiles team, who were lovely from start to finish! We'll see you soon :) read more

So far we are in the lobby and it's clean has lots of toys and reading material. Only one other family is here in the waiting room. The doctor was awesome very informative. The waiting room was filling up when we left. What a great first dentist experience for our 19 month daughter! Walk into the room and it's got the fish theme throughout nice friendly staff. Bubbles and they don't rush you out. They take the time to answer you questions give you good information. So highly recommended for a small child and infant ! Our pediatrician suggested we have our daughters teeth looked at before she turned two ! We are glade we did. clean bill of health from the dentist all her teeth are coming in great! We will recommend this place to everyone! Just a heads up our daughter screamed while they looked at her teeth but they make it fast and as painless as possible !!! Lol poor girl she got over it right away! Facility is clean, fun, and enjoyable. read more

I took my daughter to see Dr. Cotton for her frenectomy when she was a few weeks old and I was so pleased with how friendly and knowledgeable every one was. My daughter is 2 years old and she had been going to Dr. Cotton ever since she was an infant. At one point my insurance changed and All About Smiles was not covered by my insurance so I paid out of pocket because I refused to take my daughter to see anyone but Dr. Cotton. Dr. Cotton and her staff are always available to answer any questions I have. The friendly staff makes me and my daughter feel at ease every visit. read more

Like some of the other negative reviewers, I also share a similar complaint. Dr. Cotton personally has been very nice, but the office staff is iffy at times. Their thing is to always get payment regardless. My 9 yr old son needed to have a tooth extracted because it broke. It was on New Year s Day, but Dr. Cotton told me what to do and that it could wait until the next day, when the office was opened. The staff did not call the insurance to get pre-authorization, which they should ve. They told me that they do not know if the insurance company would cover it or not and said I would need to pay for services rendered, which I did. That was on 1/2/13. Unbeknownst to me, the insurance company did pay them on 1/15/13, and they paid them MORE than what I was charged, which it was my understanding I was charged the full fee. A week ago I called the insurance company, which is now 5 weeks after they paid the dentist, to see if they had paid the claim. They told me how much they paid, when, the check number, and that the checked had cleared. The dentist office never notified me that the insurance company paid, and probably had no intentions. They would ve gotten payment from me and from the insurance. My 2 kids had dental appointments Tuesday and I was running late. Stephen answered the phone when I called to say we would be late. He said if we were 1 minute late, we would be assessed a late fee. I asked him how much that was. He told me $25 per kid, so that would be $50. If we were ONE minute late we would be charged a late fee. That is outrageous. We ended up not keeping our appointment with that outrageousness. Today I made a call to the dentist office and asked them if the insurance company had paid. Sophie answered and said that the account had been zero d out due to the late appointment fee, speaking as if they had been compassionate to not charge us as much for being late. I told her I knew the insurance company had paid the claim they made on the tooth extraction that they failed to check with the insurance company BEFORE rendering services, which the insurance company said they have people 24/7 for offices to call to get preauthorization BEFORE services. They were just too lazy to do this. When I told Sophie I knew how much exactly the insurance company paid, when, etc., and that what I paid was MORE than the late fee, she became flustered and said she would need to check with Administration (Brooke). Brooke called me back shortly to tell me that indeed that they owe me a credit. If they did owe me a credit, why did it not show up when Sophie checked the account? I paid about $90 for the services. The insurance paid $113.81. The late fees were $50, but I was getting a credit of $20. Do the math. Brooke told me that the late fees were $70, not $50. I told her that that is what Stephen told me they were. She said he is wrong and I owe the $70. We have been going there for 2 yrs or more. They have in the past worked with me when I have had trouble paying, which they allowed me to make payments, which I always paid. The kids original appointment was actually the Thursday before, which we booked 4.5 months prior. So, we had to reschedule. Dr. Cotton had to fly out the day of our appointment. Our appointment was already set. They called us 2.5 hrs before the appointment to see if we could go in earlier. We could not because the kids were in school and I was at a different appointment. I do believe if we were never late, and I never called the insurance company, they would ve never told me that the insurance company paid the claim, therefore, they would ve gotten double payment for services of the tooth extraction. Maybe since we had trouble paying in the past, they decided to withhold telling us the insurance paid. Brooke said late appointments in the afternoon were $35, not $25, and that was for morning appointments. She was very cold and callous in her treatment to me, as if a robot. The insurance was very prompt in paying, but they were not prompt in refunding my money, nor do I believe they would ve. Stephen had been there for at least over 2 yrs, so he should ve known their policy. Brooke should ve honored what Stephen said. Rather, it appears that they are upset at me and just finding reasons. I have never been belligerent or even a difficult parent, neither have my kids. Their office staff made numerous mistakes in handling me, but the cost is on me for their mistakes. I cannot charge them if they want to cancel my appointment nor if they want to push up or out my appointment, but they can do that with me. Yes, this is a pediatric dentistry. When you have kids, things happen, but that doesn t matter. For those good reviews, well, wait until you have an issue. It will not be pleasant. read more

I thought my daughter was going to have a miserable time at the dentist. It was our first dentist visit and she is 23 months old. Dr. Cotton and her staff were amazing!!!! They let her get comfortable in the office and the hygienist even blew bubbles for her while I visited with the dentist! It is nice to know there are people in the medical (especially pediatric dentistry) world that are genuine and caring. Oh and my daughter let them brush her teeth and has let me too ever since this visit! They have the golden touch. read more

Team has always done an amazing job on my daughter's teeth. Staff is gentle and friendly and my daughter looks forward to her appointments.

A good friend referred us to Dr. Cotton at All About Smiles to get our 6 week old baby's lip and tongue ties released. She strongly recommended Dr. Cotton over others who perform the procedures and after our experience, we can see why. My husband and I are very impressed with Dr. Cotton and her staff. Every interaction we have had has been positive. Dr. Cotton and her team are all so friendly, caring, and understanding. The office staff went out of their way to make sure everything was set up with our changing insurance and let us know our options and their recommendation. We have never had to wait long but the waiting area is full of fun toys to keep kids entertained and our little girls wanted to play with them right away. They were also curious about a fan blowing bubbles in the exam area. At the consultation, Dr. Cotton spent an hour and a half with us explaining the procedure (done with a laser), educating us, talking about what to expect, showing us pictures, and answering our questions. She really cared about making us feel comfortable and informed. To keep our 2 and 4 year old from getting too bored, they took them to get prizes while we watched a short video. Dr. Cotton was very thorough and is obviously highly skilled and knowledgeable about lip and tongue ties-- they are clearly her specialty. The procedure was fast, went as smoothly as it possibly could, and they genuinely cared about our baby's comfort. She and her team were so compassionate and good with my baby. I wouldn't go anywhere else and because Dr. Cotton is so patient, kind, and caring, we actually switched and she is now our children's dentist. We highly recommend All About Smiles. read more

I called them 23.5 hours before my appointment to cancel and they still insisted in taking my $50 deposit! Heartless manager Laura.

We recently had to take our daughter in for procedures to correct her lip and tongue ties. We couldn't get an appointment sooner than a month out with the first doc I called, and thankfully, my midwife told us about Dr. Cotton. I called and was able to get an appointment a few days later (for consultation and same day procedure)! First off, the office is extremely clean. The staff was super nice and tried to help calm my nerves. We went back in the room and Dr. Cotton found that the baby had some serious issues and was quite sympathetic. She gave me the run down of what after care was going to be like and asked if I needed time to think about it. No ma'am, I wanted to take care of business ASAP! They took my babe to the back (they don't have parents in the room, due to needing the baby to be perfectly still and they're all more qualified for that job than a nervous mama). Just as I was finishing book our follow up appointments, the dude comes out to say they were done. He told me that my little one did well, but I'd need to get my game face on, as it's a little shocking to see the after affects of lasering stuff in a babies mouth. The woman in charge of holding my girl was extremely nice, her name is Sofia and seriously, she's amazing. While she was cuddling the baby, Dr. Cotton showed me inside her mouth and how to do our exercises (she also sent me home with great after care info, including a link to a video showing exactly how to do it should I forget.) They led us over to their breastfeeding room and let me try to calm my baby. That wasn't happening...she was tired and hungry and had a messy diaper. Doc came back in and took the baby for me and cuddled her and helped her calm down and gave me some time to collect myself. At the two day follow up, she said everything was looking good but on day three I was having trouble getting my nugget to eat and they made time for us right away. Again, Sofia came to the rescue and fed my daughter while Dr. Cotton and I went over some stuff (and the guy that works there, I wish I could remember his name! Was awesome help bringing the bottle and a refill to Sofia). I know this review is long, but I feel it's worth taking time to write about my experiences with these truly wonderful people. They were there for me when I needed help and I can't thank them enough!! read more

My son has recently been to Dr. Cotton's office To have multiple baby teeth extracted. We are new to Arizona and I am grateful to have found this exceptional pediatric dentist. My son has always had severe sensory issues - especially when it has come to any dental work. In fact, we even had to take him to the hospital for him to have his teeth cleaned, teeth extracted, and a space saver installed while he was completely asleep. For me to say Dr. Cotton and her staff are amazing is simply an understatement. They are engaging, kind, patient, and comforting. All work was completed quickly and efficiently and without any trauma at all. In fact, my son likes them all so much that he was disappointed all the work had been completed and that he didn't need to be back until his cleaning in July! For any parent of a child on the spectrum - this is the highest compliment and absolutely wonderful! I have another son who is neuro-typical and he is also quite happy being a patient. So a great big Thank You Dr. Cotton and your amazing staff! I am not sure they know what a huge impact they have had on a special little boy! read more

I do not recommend this practice despite the fact I believe Dr. Cotton is a competent dentist. I have taken my kids to this practice since 2012 but the last three appointments were awful. The first concern was when Dr Cotton told my daughter, who has anxiety, she needed an immediate orthodontist referral to avoid oral surgery. This conversation did not need to take place in front of my daughter, who cried all the way home. I should have switched dentists then. The last two appointments were 45 minutes behind schedule. Not worth the aggravation. read more

Dr Cotton is one of only 3 providers that I refer to for infant frenectomies. She is very knowledgeable and really takes her time to make sure that the parents are well informed before they make any decisions. She is also very supportive of breastfeeding and openly shares her memories of breastfeeding her children. I have also observed her preform frenectomies on several of my clients' infants and she does a great release of both tongue and lip ties. I highly recommend Dr Cotton. We drive kind of far to go to this office, but it's worth it. My children first became patients because my 4YO daughter had knocked some of her teeth (almost out) and we needed to be seen on an emergency basis. I did not want to go to an ER just to be told to go to a dentist. I called All About Smiles and they made accommodations for her to be seen ASAP! Dr. Cotton was awesome about explaining exactly what might happen to her teeth and what we can expect to see. Now both my children are patients there and thank goodness I have not had any problems with the staff. They have been super nice, and because I was self-pay, they were good about explaining charges, fees, etc. Maybe they have been reading these reviews and taking the feedback to heart, because when I made appointments recently with Brook for my kids' checkups she said she will call my insurance (we have insurance now) and get all my benefit info for me. Overall a good experience! read more

Amazing! She is kind, thorough and has a great bedside manner. She fixed my daughters lip and tongue tie and it was night and day for my little girl. Called all day for several days. No one is answering the phone. Message says the office is closed for a week. Who does that? Guess they don't need my children as patients. There are many other pediatric dentists in Gilbert and when I called around, I was told they always have someone there answering the phones when the doctor is gone. I had heard good things about this office but ultimately found a dental office that is more customer friendly. I took my daughter here for revision of tongue and lip ties when she was 3 months old. They got me in right way for the initial consult, where Dr. Cotton took pictures and gave me information about everything. She offered to do the procedure then, or let me go home and think about it so I didn't feel rushed and un-prepared. When I came back for the procedure, everyone was very nice and took great care of my baby. I liked that she uses a laser and not scissors to do the cutting. The biggest complaint I have is that the patient education they sent home with me was horrible. I couldn't remember everything that Dr. Cotton told me about medicine, stretches, and activity limitations. The paper she gave me was confusing and incorrect in some places which made my husband very confused. Overall though a good experience, I would trust her again. She definitely took her time with me. read more

At first Dr. Cotton will get you. She seems nice and sympathetic and kind. But beware. Not only does this office bleed you for every penny (seriously, since leaving and interviewing several other pediatric dentist we've realized we've spent THOUSANDS more than we needed to. THOUSANDS in unnecessary "treatments".), but other ped dentists know her around town for doing so as well. The work my daughter got done at Dr Cotton's was subpar. It was sloppy and did not adhere to her teeth for long, so we were constantly coming back to get things fixed. As soon as we changed dentists, we got impressive work that looked great, costs literally a tenth of the cost and we haven't had to go back and fix, so therefore haven't had to go back and pay for again. The practice is a rip off and Dr Cotton is abrasive to the children when you (the parent) are not back there with them. I cannot warn you enough, check out other practices, she doesn't do great work bc she wants you to come back, or she finds problems where there aren't any bc she wants your money. It's all about the money here, not the integrity of your child's dental work. read more

I really like Dr. Cotton. I think she's very good, and has treated myself and my children with respect. I've always felt like the best treatment was being offered, and the office was always up front about expected cost. I was impressed by her expertise, and more impressed by her ability to speak to my kids at their level, involving them in their own care, while encouraging better hygiene. The quality of service provided from the office staff has really declined. This is my issue. I can't stand her office manager, who is very disrespectful and condescending. I had missed a couple of appointment before, a no show and a late cancellation, so now I have a "history" with the office, and she is very careful to point that out, *frequently*. We're not even going to consider the dozens of kept appointments or the hours I have spent waiting in her waiting room, the doctor was running late due to some unforeseen emergency, or just running behind. I can accept responsibility for not showing up to an appointment, and I'm even willing to pay their fee. It is not my expectation that I can do whatever I want without consequence. I respect the doctor and her business. However, I am NOT willing to be chastised and reminded of my indiscretion every time I call. I gave it my best shot. I realized that I felt like I was working too hard to maintain my relationship with the practice in order to earn my right to have my children be seen by Dr. Cotton. Shouldn't it be the other way around? That they work to earn my business? Actually, the patient-dentist relationship, like any other relationship, should be based on mutual respect. It's just not there, anymore. Too bad. read more

My insurance changed so we had to leave a much loved practice. Dr Cotton's office was recommended to us. However, my opinion is that she is the Auto Mechanic of the Dental world. My first clue should have been that the office is a ghost town. On two separate occasions (different days and times), we were the only people there. She has lots of high tech equipment, video games, digital everything, many treatment rooms and lots of chairs. But no patients. Dr Cotton seems like a very nice lady, and I'm sure that she has been successful in her career. But I am not a fan of her practice or her office at all. The office guy I dealt with was very condescending and "holier than thou". He made it very clear that he and Dr Cotton are the experts and that I am to follow their word to a T. He seems like he is all about the money. And since we seem to be the only patients, I guess I can see why. If I don't pay, he doesn't get paid. Dr Cotton was really pushing what I considered an unnecessary treatment. After hearing her point of view, then my consulting with another doctor, I decided against her recommendation and went with what she said was her 2nd choice. Big mistake. She really turned on the hard sell, and was very pushy. Basically said that she knows more than I do and I'm not smart to go against her. Well, it's my kid and my wallet. I really feel like she doesn't have enough patients to pay for her practice to open, and has to nickel and dime the few patients that she does have with unnecessary treatments. Well, not going to work on me. And just a personal pet peeve, Dr Cotton wears open toed sandals. I just find that unhygenic and unprofessional. ***UPDATE SUMMER 2014** I just wanted to add that about a month after posting my honest review of this office, I received a letter from them saying essentially "you violated our office policy by speaking poorly of us in public so we hearby release you from our practice". Not that I'd ever go back, but really? That was unnecessary. read more

Dr Cotton was great, but her staff is horrible! We researched our insurance policy and thought it would cover our appointment. The office manager even called our insurance "she said" to confirm they would cover it! So I took my son to the dentist. Then we went back 6 months later. After the second visit the office manager called me and said that our insurance company will not be covering any of the visits after all. Of course I called my insurance company and they said we had misunderstood the information they gave us. But since the office manager had told us as well that our insurance company would cover it, I told her that I will pay for the first visit but not the second. Because before our second visit (6 months after the first visit) the dentist office staff should have told us that insurance did not pay for it! Then we would have never gone to the second appointment in the first place! So we payed for the first visit. The evil office manager Brooke, who does not have an ounce of compassion in her heart, told me she would be sending me to a collection agency unless I paid for the second visit. Needless to say I never payed because of the principal of the matter and Evil Brooke sent us to a collection agency! BEWARE! read more

I am changing my review. It was originally five stars, because Dr. Cotton was great at helping my daughter overcome her fear of the dental office. My kids have been patients for a couple years now, I think, and I'm a former dental assistant, with a formal education and years in the industry. I actually still work in the industry today, but not in an office setting. I still think Dr. Cotton is great with kids chairside. My kiddos look forward to the dentist, so in that respect, I have remained pleased with the office. However, I was personally alarmed about a couple of things they did in their practice. First, they insisted that my daughter have nitrous oxide for sealants. Totally not necessary, but I didn't see it as harmful, and it wasn't expensive, so we just went with it. Secondly, Dr.Cotton is huge on fluoride, which is fine, but she has some alternative philosophies about it. The ADA does recommend that even little ones use a fluoride toothpaste now, which she concurs with. The CDC and the ADA were at odds with this last I checked. However, she told me it was totally fine if my toddler swallowed it, and that it would be good for his developing teeth. Not true. It causes fluorosis, and even the ADA recognizes this. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/02/12/dental-group-advises-fluoride-toothpaste-before-age-2/?_r=0 http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/safety/dental_fluorosis.htm I'm a passive person, so I just nodded and smiled, but I also knew my toddler would not be using a fluoride toothpaste yet, let alone swallowing it. To be clear, I'm not anti-fluoride. My kids get fluoride treatments, and I'm ok with that. Be advised if you go, that you need to be your child's advocate. Agree with her, or disagree. It makes no difference to me, but you MUST be aware of differing philosophies and practices to make the right choice for your child. Because I know dental, neither of these things overrode how important it was to me to have someone who knew how to make kids comfortable, so we stayed... until today. We were running a few minutes late for our appointment. Nine minutes to be exact, as I pulled into the parking spot outside. I received a call from them and told them I was sorry for the delay, but that we were literally in their parking lot. The woman told me she'd have to check with the doctor about whether they could still see us, and I said "I'm outside your door, I'll just come in and talk to you since I'm here anyway." When we entered, she informed me that they were already running late, and that the doctor had said if we were late, they'd have to reschedule us. They offered to see one of my kids, and said I could bring the other one back later in the day. I'm a caretaker for someone who is disabled, and it's tough to get out the door anyway, plus I'd already spent 30 minutes driving there (60 min round trip). Two hours on the road was totally out of the question. I told this to the lady, and she said she couldn't expect the staff to work through their lunch. I was scheduled at 11:30, and lunch apparently begins at noon. I told her we'd be finding a new dentist instead. First off, it was nine minutes. NINE. What would they do if patients walked out every time they were nine minutes late? I'm thinking they'd have a pretty empty schedule. Secondly, if they were already running late, then what difference does it make that I was, too? Does it really matter that I wasn't twiddling my thumbs in the waiting room, since they were late anyway? I wasn't suggesting that they work through lunch, and I found it very rude that she was so condescending with me. However, I also have managed the schedule and flow of a dental office, and I would never in a million years have done that to one of my patients. No, you give the staff their lunch breaks, stagger them, and have different staff members pick up the slack when they're not at lunch. This sort of thing happened all the time in the offices I worked at, and everyone got their full lunches. Yes, I realize I was wrong for being late, but they could have worked with me and they chose not to. I really got the feeling that they were hoping they'd be able to can our appointments so that they could correct their hectic day and get a breather in. Well, they got that, and we won't be on their schedule ever again. It wouldn't surprise me if they have trouble retaining patients for this very reason, because I can see in reviews that we weren't the only ones treated this way. To the staff: It's easier to retain your patients through customer service than it is to find new ones. Running a practice isn't just about what happens in the treatment room. read more

I had the exact same experience as the other review. I really like Dr. Cotton but her office manager is completely pompous and arrogant. We have been patients since they opened but I too just had to reschedule an appointment. My son had to go to a neurologist for a serious medical matter. I gave 24hr notice but was told the policy states I needed to give 48hr notice for an appointment after 3pm...which we had the next day. I had hoped there would be some compassion to our situation but Brooke, the manager, found it more important to collect the $50 fee ($25 per patient) than it was to help me reschedule their appointment and retain us as patients. LIke the woman who wrote the review before mine...she felt the need to quote the policy over and over instead of wanting to handle business on a human level. I immediately switched dentists after this experience. I would not recommend this practice to anyone! It's unrealistic to think life doesn't happen especially with kids. This is a pediatric dentistry. Kids and life are unpredictable and these policy's need to be assessed on an individual basis. This office manager will be ruining Dr. Cotton's practice if she doesn't get a clue that maintaining relationships is the key to running a successful business. read more

We started seeing Dr. Cotton when my daughter was 6 weeks old. My daughter was born with lip and tongue ties, and Dr. Cotton performed frenectomies on her using a laser. The surgical sites healed beautifully, and our breastfeeding relationship has improved dramatically ever since. Dr. Cotton and her entire staff are absolutely lovely and were supportive during the whole process. It's evident that everyone who works at All About Smiles really loves children. I'm excited to continue seeing them as my daughter grows! read more

I'm not quite sure why the reviews for Dr Cotton are bad - they must be old or people are crazy. Seriously she's great - so nice, thorough, and comforting. She has updated equipment and is very knowledgable. I see some bad reviews about her office staff - they must've been replaced because her front desk girls are great! I can't count how many times they've gone out of their way to be helpful. I'll probably add another review once my daughters lip tie procedure is complete, but for now, she definitely gets 5 stars! read more

I called Dr. Cotton's office on a Friday morning and my 7 year old (a new patient) was in that afternoon. The office staff was more than helpful and Dr. Cotton was wonderful. She explained everything to my child in a language that she would understand and alleviated any and all fears. I have two adult boys that I wish could have had this type of care when they were children. I would and will definitely recommend Dr. Cotton to anyone who wants their child to have a fearless dental experience. read more

So I was very skeptical about coming to this dentist. I searched the reviews after I booked the appointments for my children, so I didn't want to cancel. We had a mid-morning appointment and were the only people in the waiting room. The treatment area is only blocked by a glass/water wall so you can see the kids in the back, which I liked. There was a family back in treatment and as soon as they were done we were brought back. Mind you this was my first trip here and they got me back very quickly, I did send my paperwork over ahead of time so maybe that helped. Anyways I took my 5 year old back first, while my 2 year old still got to play in the waiting room since I could see him (big + in my book) and the whole staff was very upbeat. My daughter had a took knocked out and then pulled when she was three so she is very iffy about the dentist in general, but the whole staff was patient with her. She even took xrays (which she had always thrown a fit about). Dr. Cotton showed me on the xray that her bottom tooth would be coming in before she lost her baby one and sometimes she recommended getting the baby tooth pulled but based off my daughters history she does not think it would be wise (yay for not being money greedy!). My two year old sat in my lap while they did his exam, the whole staff was back chatting with me the whole time. I actually felt very comfortable. Had I not read the reviews I would have never guessed that they were rated so low. We will be going back for their next check up! read more

My dream came true to find the right dentist for my kids!!! My daughter had a terrible experience with a pediatric dentist so I was determined to do a complete check on the next dentist that I took her to. Well, I totally SCORED. I had read the previous reviews and decided that I would call them and ask them about the reviews that are on this site. They explained to me the dentist point of view so I figured that I would give it a try. From the moment I stepped in the office I was impressed. They were very considerate to my daughters feelings and made her feel very comfortable. Since this was the first time I was taking my boys to see a dentist they explained in detail every step that they were taking to clean their teeth. They gave them a mirror so they could see and I think that made them even more comfortable because they were involved in the process. They were so amazed and excited!!! My daughter was able to watch the boys get a cleaning so that made her feel a little more comfortable by what she was seeing and the boys response helped her as well. I want to thank Dr Cotton,The Hygienist and her staff for being so kind to me and my children . Now that my kids know how to properly brush their teeth they are excited to do so every morning and every night. read more

The practice is a rip off and Dr Cotton is abrasive to the children when you (the parent) are not back there with them ( as my 8 yr old came out upset that she yelled at him for a mistake that she had made). I cannot warn you enough, check out other practices. I was told when both of my boys came up with cavities after the cleaning that they must have sedation (gas) or she would not do work on the affected teeth. I was told the "gas" would cost $90 and insurance would not cover the cost. So with two children needing cavities filled it was already at $200 (not including the actual work).I have since found out at the new dentist that my kids see, the Nitrous Oxide is only $40 and does get submitted to insurance for only a cost of $12 that I have to pay. Once I agreed to the charges at All About Smiles it came time to the appointment I was told I was not allowed back to the room with the children (while my kids were being sedated). The office smells terrible, I believe it is the water fall that they have separating the exam room from the waiting room. I decided to leave the practice a year after my boys became patients at her practice after Dr. Cotton had became very loud with me and "got in my face" when she was telling me I was not allowed to be in the hallway while my 5 yr old child was under the effects of anesthesia. That was the second cavity he was having filled by her, the first I was allowed to sit at the doorway while he had the dental work done. So I was extremely confused the second time ! I then requested twice that my sons records to be sent to another office for my a 6 month follow up appointment, which never happened and the new office did not receive them. read more

We have been patients of Dr. Cotton's for three years. She is a wonderful dentist and is so caring with my children. Two of my children have required extensive work to be done, Dr. Cotton did an excellent job with making them comfortable and helping them through the process. I can't say enough about how great she is! read more

We've been seeing Dr. Cotton for six years and can't say enough good things about All About Smiles. The staff knows us by name when we walk in and everyone makes us feel like their top priority. My kids adore their dentist and love going. The office is beautiful and kid friendly as well as comfortable for the parents. Most importantly, I trust Dr. Cotton. She doesn't push for unnecessary treatment and always communicates with me what she sees and my kids progress. She's even come in after hours for an emergency and didn't charge for late visit. The office staff has successfully fought on my behalf with our insurance company to make sure we're getting our full coverage and paying as little out of pocket as possible. Five stars are not enough! I recommend All About Smiles, Dr. Cotton and the staff of AAS confidently! They are personal and professional and an absolute pleasure to be around. read more

Dr. Cotton, John, Laura and Sophia are top notch! My experience for my grandchildren and other children that I have witnessed and seen cared for by this highly educated and seasoned Pediatric Dentist is above all!!! Dr. Cotton's education and background she gained from her years in the US Public Health Services is above most in the dental field. What do they say, you always hear the complaints but never the "great job'??? Great job All About Smiles! read more
