This past week my girlfriend called me at the spur of the moment and decided let's take our children to All About Fun their ages range from two years-old to six year-olds. As we pulled into the parking lot the kids were so excited. We unbuckled each child and gathered them up and made our way to the front door just to be utterly disappointed that they were closed. On the bright side we did figured out an alternative and we had a great time. Coming from a family who has owned and operated many businesses which have expanded to many different locations take pride in what they do and have been very successful. I feel that this business is unambiguous. My reasonings are: 1. For 13 years they have been in business, and in those thirteen years they relocated once again to their third location. Yes, owners might switch locations with their business for a variety of reasons, but I feel is the business not established? 2. Hours. - EBTV had a segment called "East Brunswick Business Spotlight" (where they interview new businesses that open in town) As I watched the video the owner states that "We do have open play Monday - Friday from 10-2 an every other Friday starting in the fall." - On their Facebook page the hours state that they are opened Monday - Wednesday 10-2 ; Closed on Thursday ; Open every other Friday 11-3. - If they do close unexpectedly on a day that they're supposed to be open they fail to notify us parents online and it's disappointing. 3. Employees - Employee turnover is a major concern that every business, regardless the size, must address. Although some departures are unavoidable, losing a large number of experienced employees due to voluntary turnover can have a ripple effect on a business. After seeing multiple hiring post on their Facebook page it makes me wonder is their low productivity, low morale, or is the employee feeling undervalued or underutilized. I've always carried this with me. Good customer service always helps retain your customers. It is what keeps your customers coming back and retaining your customers increases your revenue. In conclusion to this post I would not recommend coming here with your children. read more

Absolutely love this place. You can't beat the weekday OpenPlay special. I frequented this place a few times per week with my little one when I lived in Matawan, now that I live 30 min away I never come here anymore. I was excited to be invited for a birthday party. All the fun memories came back to my daughter who's now two years older. I hope the owner keeps opening up different locations. (Fingers crossed). The birthday was so fun. The girls working the party were super nice & helpful. Coffee was great as usual & we had a great time. Can't wait to be invited back or to maybe throw a party here myself! read more

This place is shady. If you book a party, they'll ask you for a credit card number for a $50 deposit. They won't tell you that it's not refundable. I booked a party and called back the same day to cancel. Then they told me the $50 is non refundable and then ran the card AFTER I canceled. So they didn't even run the card yet. They ran it after. The owner of the place did that. When I called back to ask her why she ran my card right after I canceled, she started yelling at me and wouldn't let me say a word. She kept going off. The party date was still a month and a half away. So she's still going to fill that day AND keep my $50 that she charged AFTER I canceled. read more

I really need to open my own version of one of these "kids villages," because I've been to enough of these places to know what's needed to get it right. Today, most of these indoor kiddie playgrounds are nothing more than a leased space with a bunch of old, busted up toys thrown into them. I appreciate that the proprietors of these places probably don't have a ton of cash to invest up front, and instead rely on a collection of used toys handed down from their own family and friends', or perhaps picked up at a garage sale on the cheap. But parents are putting down hundreds of dollars to rent out these spaces, and there should be a reasonable expectation of quality and value for that money - especially given how many other similar businesses exist nearby. All About Fun is definitely near the bottom of the barrel as far as these places go. A tight, cramped space jammed up with broken and chewed up toys, worn out costumes and masks that didn't seem particularly clean, and just this overall sense that my kids were playing in someone else's garbage. A room that was supposed to be all about music had a busted drum set with only one drumstick that looked like it once served as a dog toy; a cheap, flimsy keyboard/electronic drum kit that only partially worked when played with; a bunch of inflatable guitars that served no musical purpose whatsoever; random percussion accessories that appeared years old... I mean, c'mon. Invest a little more money in your business for crying out loud. Kids being kids of course, they all managed to keep themselves entertained. It wasn't as if they didn't have fun. And the girls running the show did a good job of dancing around and doing the limbo with the kids while the music blasted and the bubble machine did its thing. Extra points for having a small area where parents could congregate and enjoy free coffee. I really don't know why someone hasn't figured out that there's a market for a higher end version of your typical "kids village." I'd rather pay more money and give my kids an opportunity to make music with real musical instruments, or enjoy dress-up with a wardrobe full of quality costumes and accessories. And for the boys, I'd get a real air hockey table and some commercial arcade/boardwalk-style games. Perhaps most importantly, I'd figure out how to attach a bar next door for all the poor dads who get sucked into these nightmarish events like I do. (And why does the pizza ALWAYS suck at these places?!) So while I wouldn't recommend All About Fun as a place to host your next kid's party, if you do find yourself here, definitely find time to sneak out over to the liquor store just a few steps away in the strip mall across the parking lot. There's a great little bar in the back that isn't the least bit scary. A little nip or two might make your experience here a little more bearable. read more

First and last time visiting there. I checked it out to see about having my child's birthday there later this year but after the very cold welcome from the staff, and all the signs written on the door, walls, and mat area about things you cannot do (and the consequences if you do lol) it's not a good match for children who want to be children and play. I imagine there have been reasons why they needed to post pieces of paper all around the playground. Nice place inside for a birthday party, the concept is great but execution is full of flaws. Not enough time allotted to parties for setup and the hosts didn't know how to properly structure a program. The newer party host was completely lost, she couldn't even get the kids together to play games. We were constantly reminded of rules and told the end time is coming up. Instead, they should have a program like other little gyms and such places where they take the lead and don't put the burden on the parent. Also, we paid extra for a live character who didn't even stay the full hour and had zero personality. I know the suits get hot and it's hard to see but wow. A couple of positives were that they kept the play area clean and the cupcakes turned out nice. Overall, pretty average. read more

They have some nice toys for the kids to play with, but the last two visits I was very unsatisfied. The woman who works there is very rude and has no patience for children playing and making messes as children do. She yelled at the children for throwing balls out of the ball pit or bringing toys in. Also my friend's infant daughter was eating a teething cracker and made a little mess and she got very mad. We felt very uncomfortable and like we had to clean up after the children, when we paid to go there so we could relax and have fun. They should change the name from "All about fun" to "No fun Allowed!" I would not go back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

All About Fun is a pretty small location which works for little ones. They're able to go where they want to while parents can see them at all times. There is one door to enter/exit so they could never leave without their adult. It is basically the best set up playroom. There are small "rooms" each dedicated to a different theme ie. grocery shopping, pet dr, music room, dress up. It is more for smaller kids although I could bring my older kids and they would enjoy it-I def see it as suiting younger kids primarily. The kids have a blast there when we go and its reasonably priced. Its an excellent playdate place! read more

My 2 year old Son had a great time navigating the rooms, running, and playing, and screaming, that's what all 2 year old's do! I was deeply offended and outrage by the owner or employee of this place. She reprimmanded my son while I stepped away to mind my friends child. She told off my son and said stop screaming. Then the owner was gossiping about her patrons who were visiting this place, and so-called "labeling" them by where they were from! What's worse about this place, the owner asks the children to remove their shoes and meanwhile mentions the grown-up's can keep their shoes on. It was unsanitary for Adults to walk all over this facility while our little ones are crawling and walking on the same ground. I will never return here and it's my last visit for a Birthday Party. read more

I'll give it a 4 because my kids being kids enjoyed their time. It's small and just enough for my toddlers. My concern would be the older lady- who I'm assuming is the owner? - makes you feel uncomfortable. We were just there for a birthday party and she can definitely have handled things friendlier and with more patience with the kids. I absolutely love all about fun and their wonderful staff who go out of their way to make sure families coming in to play have a great experience. I've been coming to all about fun for years and have NEVER once had a bad experience. I prefer coming here vs. many other kids places because they are CLEAN, FRIENDLY and VERY ACCOMODATING to everyone's needs. We have met many new friends every time we come in. I have had both my children's birthday parties there and my kids still talk about it. I agree everyone can have an opinion but I have to disagree with some of the comments made. I will happily continue to go there with my kids along with many of my mommy friends who feel the same way I do. read more

I really like this place. The prices are the best compared to all other kid places like it. It's not per hour per kid. That means you stay as long as your kids want! Owner and staff are attentive and I really enjoyed not only hosting a huge party there (Prob too big) but also bringing the kids there on a rainy day. read more
