Tonia is one of the nicest and well informed person I met in Maui. You can tell she loves her job! We came here to look at getting fishing rules and regulations and find out about spear fishing. Tonia knew it all. We ended up renting a flag per the regulations here in Hawaii, and she gave us lots of tips about where to look, what to shoot for, and what tastes the best. The store was very clean, and had everything a tackle shop in the area should need. Upon my return to Maui I would stop by just to say hello. Service was terrible in my Opinionand when we returned the polls they hit me with a small $10 charge saying that the polls had sand in them surprise surprise when you go fishing usually on the beach. Small charge wasn't significant it's just that the customer service was terrible and it seem like they were trying to nickel and dime people not A friendly store at all. I'm a complete novice and fishing and when I asked them how to set stuff up I was told to look at the website they are not very tourist friendly at all and when I approach them about this they said well the tourists were not very friendly to them great attitude if you're running a business! I went in here to kill some time while my wife finished her spa treatment next door. The two guys inside were super friendly, even after I told them I was just window shopping. They kindly answered questions about shore fishing on Maui and gave me info on rentals. I was just sad it was my last day and could not rent some stuff from them, because it sounded like so much fun. I am definitely coming back next time I am in Maui. Nice, clean shop with lots of stock. Highly recommend for fishing and snorkel rentals just based on how they treated me. I read the reviews on Yelp before deciding where to rent some snorkeling gear. I was not disappointed. I got everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Tonia was a sweetheart and gave us some great tips. She also reduced the rental rate because we were going to be returning the gear first thing in the morning even though we could have kept it for approx 32 hours. Small fishing tackle shop ,located near a resort we stayed at in Maui. But the great customer service and wealth of local places to fish is huge! They have a variety of snorkel ,spear fishing equipment as well. I was first helped by one young man who was busy helping someone else. But he acknowledged me right away. One he finished helping them,he came over asked me what I was interested to fish for. He set up on the local best lures and rented me a great surf fishing rod for a couple of days. I came back in to buy some more tackle. On this second trip to the store I was helped by another friendly knowledgeable young lady. We then I also met the owner of the store. Who turned out to be a fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. Anyways didn't catch much fish,but had an awesome experience fishing in paradise. They answered all our questions and even marked different types of activities on a map telling us where we could find some scenic spots (he even knew where all the stop signs were). Got great advice from these guys on reef fishing- but was truly happy with the suggestions to try some spots just north of us. The guy pointed out where to park, where to fish and how to do it - we caught all kinds of stuff as a result and had an awesome time. I got all my frozen squid, sinkers and hooks from this place and every time, talked a bit about strategies/challenges, and how to overcome them. They were as nice as could be, but helped me and my son explore Maui the way we like to: thru the fishing. We came to rent some gears for snorkeling. The staff was very helpful in telling where the best places were for snorkeling in the area. The price for the snorkel set was reasonable at $8 each but the mask they gave me did not fit me as well as it should. It made the entire experience a little less enjoyable with water kept going into the mask. read more

Went here to rent snorkeling gear because it was close to our condo. The guy helping us was very helpful and gave us recommendations for local spots to check out. Towards the end of the week, one of the fins tore and so did the mask. We were worried we would be charged but didn't do anything out of the ordinary to cause the rip. When we returned the gear, we let them know what happened. To our relief, they told us it was normal wear and tear so they would not charge us. All About Fish is run by very honest people who don't try to take advantage of tourists. We'll be back on our next trip to Maui! read more

Needed some water sports gear and the place was right accross the hotel so checked it out. A few places down the street were a little cheaper but they always had a string attached (hard sell to buy a timeshare, ugh). Very friendly service and always provided daily information on the best places to snorkel and surf. And again nobody was trying to sell me a timeshare here. Tanya was really helpful with our kids and Sterling was very helpful with his island expertise. Can't beat good customer service. In March my friend bought me a all night fishing gift certificate. I arrived here in Jan and called Tonia to use it and she informed me that the gift certificate which was $187.00 expired on Dec.15,2015. I told her I didn't notice the expiration date and asked if she could still honor it. She told me no that I should of read the certificate and used it before the end of Dec. I explained it was a gift from a friend and he didn't realize that it wasn't valid for a year when he purchased it. My wife and I come here every feb and I just assumed that the gift certificate was valid for a year. Tonia told me to call the fishing guide and see if he would still honor it. I did call the guide and he said he never got paid from Tonia and was confused that she would tell me to call him. I did call Tonia back and asked if she could even give me a partial credit towards tackle or another trip. Again she stated that it was my problem and not hers that I should of known. We bought a pole at Costco for some beach fishing while visiting. My line broke and needed to find a place to replace it. We called this place at 4:45pm (they close at 5pm) and the super nice owners said they would wait for us. They were so helpful with what I needed. They were so patient with us and helped with tying knots and weights. Didn't try to upsell anything. Just super friendly folks and the best customer service. Gave us suggestions on where to fish and gave us a copy of Hawaii's fishing regulations. Great place to go!! read more

We are here on our honeymoon and my husband wanted to dive. He is certified and I have never been. Although he is certified, he hadn't been in a couple years and he didn't pack anything other than his wet suite. We heard about Mike at scorpion and decided to give it a try. It was $89 fore and $70 for my husband. Mike took us in the pool first and showed me how to use all the equipment. After about an hour of instruction he took 3 of us on a shore dive. That latter about an hour and we went down about 30 feet!! Let's just say it was amazing!!!! Mike was always near by and made sure we were all ok. He showed us some awesome marine life and was patient and kind. I would highly recommend Mike at Scorpion if you are a first time diver. I was nervous and he put me right at ease!!! Highlight of the trip. (We also did Haleakala crater sunrise and biking, paddle boarding, road to Hana, pipiwai trail, 5 beaches, Old Lahana Luau, and zip-lining) This was the best! We went on a beginner scuba trip and we truly enjoyed it. I called the morning of and they had a two spots available for the morning session. The first part was at a hotel pool, and you have a 30 minute intro lesson. It's not boring and it is useful info. Then you hop in the pool and practice at 3,5,&8 feet deep. Our guide Mike was awesome, patient, and helpful. My wife was a little nervous at first but Mike worked with her so that she was smiling and having a blast at the end of the pool session. We then went to the ocean for a 40 minute dive. On the dive you'll see all different wildlife and likely a few turtles. (mike knew where the big turtles were.) During the dive we swam beside a turtle and ray for several minutes in the coral reef canyon, which is a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide took photos and they were $40 to purchase. He dropped off the CD at our hotel the next morning. This was a great experience and our guide Mike was the reason. He's a true pro and isn't snobby or rude. He doesn't look down on beginners and he truly enjoys his job. It's the rare balance of being fun, but not overly obnoxious. If you're a beginner, and have nvr done Scuba spend the $98 and do it! You'll gain a great memory. read more

Awesome trip!!!!! We came with a group of 6 looking to spear fish in Maui. We first met Bobby Twitchell (very knowledgable about fish and the good spots in Maui, plus he's an all around great guy). Bobby and Comma gave us an overview of everything from learning about the fish we were going to catch to breathing exercises in free diving. This was our one stop shop for everything we needed. They ended up having a rod we could rent rather than buying one saving us some money. Tanya is awesome. They have top notch dry snorkels with a mechanism at the top that prevents water from entering if you do any free diving. Great service. Local recommendations. All around great place to do business. Prices were really great -- $25/week + $8/week for dry top. These snorkels are 10x better than what you'll find on any tour or excursion. Bring them along on your adventure and you'll have a 10x better experience. read more

My husband and I went to 2 other rental places - one of which is the popular Snorkel Store. This family business is amazing. The lady who helped us was so helpful and sweet. They have better equipment (closed valve whereas other places have semi-closed valves) and it was more affordable. I definitely recommend renting here.
