First time here and got the Filipino dishes! It was all tasty! My family even came back! The service was great! The ambiance was more like fast food style. We got the tapsilog, basilog, lechon kawali, & halo halo for dessert!

Came back to the valley after 5 years away for a visit and had to hit up some old spots. Alko Bar didn't disappoint.

This place is pretty damn good. I wish I had more meat under Philly cheesesteaks though. But the taste in the bun was wonderful. The way it was dressed was great. The service was fantastic. All the employees seemed pretty cool. I would strongly recommend this place and a cheesesteak I'll be back. But french fries four hours and $.50 for an order of french fries was pretty damn expensive. It was actually above four I don't know if it was 450 but it waslittle expensive for french fries.

Pretty decent place to get a Philly Cheese Steak or some loaded fries! I was in the Palm Dessert area and needed something for lunch. I was surprised to see that this place was somewhat like a 7-11 on the inside but with a kitchen that served a bunch of quick foods like cheese burgers, burritos, and salads. I opted for the Philly Cheese Steak since I saw so many reviews about it! It was pretty good, but the meat was not very flavorful. The cheese definitely gave it more flavor, but the meat by itself was pretty bland. I needed to add some salt on there. The bread was pretty good and a bit chewy. There were A LOT OF ONIONS, a bit too much for my liking. Overall, I'll probably be back, but I'll try a different variety of the Philly Steak.

It's been a few years since I last came back. The food is still solid and fir. Prices slightly high but speaking to the owner costs are up. I thought the fries were a little soft. The onion rings are fair but that's just a preference on batter type. I think this place is a hidden gem within the area. Hope to be back and try the place out again.

Sherman's Deli & Bakery - Pastrami on rye with cole slaw

Ordered the New York style hot pastrami on rye with coleslaw and a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. The pastrami was the highlight. Piled high, tender, and full of that classic deli flavor with just the right amount of richness. The rye bread held everything together well and had a nice bite to it. It's the kind of sandwich you have to take a second to look at before figuring out how to eat it. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, a good balance to the sandwich, and the cream soda was cold and refreshing. Also ordered a slice of pistachio cake to go. Absolutely delicious. The place has that old school deli feel, busy but in a good way, and full of character. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd. Definitely a spot worth stopping at if you're in Palm Desert and want a proper deli sandwich.

Service was excellent. Seated immediately and ordering minutes later. Got extra cream cheese on request and our coffees were diligently refilled. The main attraction was the pastrami sandwich. Totally to my wife's taste, extremely lean and stacked high. She had to take half home. I tried an omelette with corned beef and loved it. The everything bagel was perfectly acceptable, not too "bready." So: service good, pastrami good, and bagel good. Everything good about a deli is covered.

My friend and I were heading out from our vacation in Palm Springs in the early morning... thinking…read moreabout the horrible gas station food we would encounter on the drive home, and then DING! This deli opens at 8am. We were actually 2nd. in line for the doors to open. My friend and I lived many many years in NYC...deli rules. When it opened we were greeted and seated, we chose to sit inside though they did have a fairly big patio area. Service was excellent all around from the hostess who sat us to Christina who took good care of us making sure water and coffees were refill promptly and was very friendly. My friend ordered his favorite, a hot Pastrami sandwich on lightly toasted rye. I ordered my most favorite deli item, the Chopped Liver appetizer. While we were waiting for our food, we were served the tradition Pickle Tray, YEAH!!!! The food came out and was all DELISH! My friend loved his pastrami sandwich and my chopped liver was good but could of used some chopped hard boiled egg, more onion and some salt.. but was still good. To note: We would definitely come again on an off hour where I would not have to wait. Atmosphere: Fairly large inside and patio, very Deli feel, huge bakery display to purchase. Service: excellent. Food: very good.

It was a weird mixture of chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, fruits, lettuce. The flavoring was odd and not complimentary to each other. - #6 Hot Pastrami with Chopped Liver Sandwich: If you have never tried chopped liver before, I don't think this should be your first time experimenting. There are many other good options to pick from! If you end up disliking the chopped liver, I'd hate for that to ruin your experience at Sherman's. The second time I ordered: - NY Style Hot Pastrami Sandwich: This was the best thing I tried on the menu. The pastrami was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this sandwich! - Lite Lunch Special: Not all sandwiches are available for the half portion, so I would suggest clarifying with your waiter. I ordered 1/2 Brisket of Beef (BBQ sauce on the side) and 1/2 Garden Salad. Both were just fine. Unfortunately I was way too full to try any of the dessert. They were beautifully displayed though!

Honestly, wish I hadn't................ I got in line, not too busy, maybe 8 people in front of me. I ordered the Sexy Italian, minus olives and mayo. That, and a bag of chips was $23.00. Good lord! Better be good, right? How was it, you ask? Shitty! First of all, I took a seat in the room with the huge table behind the drinks. There was shit all over the table...napkins, crumbs, mustard stains etc. Wipe that shit down, man, seriously! Anyways.....I got my sandwich fairly quick. First thing I noticed was that it looked straight up like Kirkland/Costco ham on the sandwich. Nothing wrong with Kirkland ham, I buy it and eat it all the time, but for an Italian sandwich that costs $18 by itself, step up the meat game, man! The salami was cut pretty thick too and had a very overpowering smoke flavor. It was too saucy with the pesto and mustard and hard to eat. The kicker was the bread. It was a "parmesan roll", but it looked and tasted almost underbaked. It was really thin too! Subways Italian herb and cheese bread is way better, honestly. I bit in and was immediately disappointed. The quality of meat was bad, the bread was crappy, the produce was skimp, plus it was messy as a mofo. I ate half of the sandwich, and tried to take another bite of the second half, and I couldn't do it. Threw it away. Waste of $23.00. At least the Salt and Vinegar chips I picked out were good, lol! Definite one and done for me. Not sure how they have almost 5000 mostly positive reviews. Maybe people in Indio have different taste buds? Who knows. I shall not return. Meh.

It's tucked in a nondescript office park with plenty of parking. They were busy when we arrived, so we had a short wait, which told me it's a popular spot. I ordered the California sandwich: turkey, avocado, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and sprouts on sourdough, with added cheddar, mustard, and jalapenos ($14.95 plus $1.50 for the cheddar). It was fantastic. My son ordered the same with a few tweaks and loved his as well. My wife went for a hot sandwich, and by the time we got back to our lodging it had melted through the bread and was a little messy. She was lukewarm about it, so I had to tease her: "To-go hot sandwiches turn into a hot mess, poor decision." She appreciated my annoying comment and happily snagged a bite of my delicious sandwich, lol. Great sandwiches, friendly vibe, and definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Highly recommend. 5 stars P.S. my photo of my sandwich just doesn't do it justice. I
