It was the kind of place you remembered and looked forward to coming back to. Unfortunately, what I received today was incredibly disappointing. $17 with tax for a sandwich that appeared to have roughly four ounces of meat is simply unacceptable. Just look at the picture the amount of meat speaks for itself. I understand that food costs, labor, and operating expenses have increased over the years. I would much rather see a business raise its price and maintain the quality and portions that built its reputation than charge premium prices while dramatically reducing what the customer receives. Longtime customers remember what Alkobar used to serve, and that is what makes this particularly disappointing. Businesses build loyalty through quality, consistency, and value. When those things disappear, unfortunately, so does the loyalty. After this experience, I will not be returning. I sincerely hope management takes customer feedback seriously and remembers what made Alkobar successful in the first place.

I stopped in Saturday morning and there were signs on the freezer that said only 2 bags per party. I'm pretty sure it was around $5 a bag. I was also in need of hot water for my coffee press tumbler and was able to get that here as well. Inside it's super clean, neat and organized. We also needed cooking oil for the camp and I was able to pick that up here too. They're the only gas station in these parts as well. Definitely a must stop, one-stop shop for camping needs.

The store is on the northeast corner of Jackson and Avenue 50. {If you don't want to have heart palpitations, come in from Calhoun Street going south and turn right on Avenue 50, and right into the lot on the corner of Jackson because the cars from the two two-lane roads hustling at that Stop Sign are enough to raise your blood pressure a lot.} We saw displays of the most beautiful produce inside the door. Plump oranges, zucchinis, broccoli, cucumbers and many other items show off their freshness and aroma. We found cucumbers, zucchini, carrots and the most fragrant strawberries ever. A bottle of Pico Pica hot sauce rounded out the purchase. Their food truck is parked on the southeast corner of their lot. @elowtitos @lgdesertstore We ordered two carne asada mulitas, a burrito, and loaded fries. Everything was delicious. The staff in the store as well as the food truck are so lovely. My husband was using a walker and everyone in the store was super helpful.
