The main project was installing a new Blaze King wood stove, including a new chimney crown and relining the chimney with an insulated stainless steel liner. They also repointed and repaired the cottage chimney, relined it for a woodstove, and repointed the main house chimney. With a wood stove or fireplace, the peace of mind is everything. I never had a single doubt that the work was done safely and to code, and that's worth a lot when it's your home on the line. From start to finish they were extremely professional, reliable, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. They also went above and beyond on the logistics. The cottage work was tricky to schedule because we had Airbnb guests booked that we couldn't cancel, and they worked around our calendar completely. They even cleaned up mid-job so the space was guest-ready at check-in. At one point the cleaners they'd lined up bailed, and the owner, William, himself drove out on a Saturday morning to handle it personally and did an incredibly thorough job. The repointing deserves special mention. A previous owner had carelessly patched the historic chimney with Portland cement, which is the wrong material for an old home. First Response ground it all out and redid it in lime mortar, matching the original and restoring it the period-appropriate way. It looks like it should- like it was never touched. And they fully cleaned up after every job.

I joined a group of neighbors to have our ducts cleaned by Paramount and unfortunately this was not…read morea great experience for us. While I think they did a pretty good job with the actual duct work (although no before/after pics so who knows?) they left a mess behind and after 2 weeks of correspondence with their owner she couldn't admit they did anything wrong and offered no real solution. First the good: Easy to set appointment up, guys showed up on time and completed the work in the time they said it would take. The bad: the guys came in the house with no foot booties on, covered in green spray paint (from painting dumpsters?), and left green marks in several spots on ceilings, walls, and vents, tracked the hose in several spots on my carpet, and left metal shavings near the unit where the hole was cut for service. After we called to voice our concern they did send the crew out the next day to address those, and to their credit the guys were apologetic and did make an effort to clean . However the carpet still has marks and there are several ceiling spots that will need to be touched up with paint. The major complaint was with the vent removal, where they pulled several lines of paint along with those vents from not cutting them first. In some spots the drywall came up with that paint. After we sent pictures to the owner she assured us it was caulk and not their problem. She never recommends caulk to customers however that was the solution to fix our problem, rather than offering a small discount off the $500+ we spent on the job. Luckily for my neighbors we went first and complained immediately as none of them had the same issues of careless vent removal or sloppy work in general. We are in a new build neighborhood where all of these houses were finished about the same time by the same foreman, and 2 of the other houses had used the same painter we did. If that wasn't the case I may have bought in to the owner claiming it was my builders fault, or the painter, but I don't think we have the special house here. While not a huge deal it is frustrating that I will now have to spend my free time patching drywall and repainting several walls/colors and hope I can match with the 2 yr old paint.

Poor Quality, Poor Service, Poor Value. CAI installed a concrete pad for us in October 2024 and a…read morenumber of issues surfaced immediately. I spoke with Billy a couple months later in March and he informed me that he would get me on the schedule to come back and address these issues. Since that time, I've left 7 voicemails (7/7, 8/25, 9/16, 9/29, 10/9, 10/21, 11/11), texted once (7/7), and emailed (12/2) with photos of the issues, but I have received no responses since speaking with Billy. The pad is not slopped properly and is draining back into the house and pooling in front of the door. During the installation I asked if the pad needed the relief cuts, but Billy felt the grounds the pad was being placed upon was solid and committed to returning if there was cracking, which there now is. They also failed to cut a piece of hanging trim from the siding which left us with a square hole in the steps. As you can see from others, this company just does not respond. The voicemail says they will respond in 24 hrs, but that is only until they get your money. Further insulting is that they tell you to have a blessed day, thats like someone robbing your home and saying God bless on their way out the door.
