Every staff member we communicated with was caring and knowledgeable. The quality of the beef was top notch. Unfortunately, they were out of prime grade, but the Choice grade that I was offered was marbled and beautiful. We smoked half and oven roasted half and both were succulent and deeply flavorful. Our guests devoured it all! Willowside Meats will be our go-to meat store from now on.

We had a great…read moreexperience with them and tried to do it again this year but they weren't taking orders, which led us to Willowside. We opted this year to do a half cow, which now seems to me probably overly optimistic, but that's what we did. We wanted grass fed/grass finished which is usually more expensive and harder to get, but Willowside told us no problem and we put down the $100 deposit. It seemed like almost overnight they were able to get all the stars aligned to get the cow ready and they were already calling me for preferences on cuts. I love the attention to detail we were given on education of different things, because for me having been a vegetarian for many years, this is a lot of info building still. We found out our cow topped the scales at over 800 lbs so our half share was about 412 or so and cost about $2300. We opted for vacuumed packed rather than butcher paper, and gave them our preferences on size of cuts. When we arrived to pick everything up we did have some challenges with making sure we had everything - I was told it would be 8 boxes but it only ended up being 6, and we couldn't find the bone marrow which was one of the big selling points for the half cow. Undaunted we took our prizes home and I set out packing two complete freezers full of meats and bones. I have yet to try the beef but it looks beautiful. Overall it was a good price, quick turn around, and I especially liked that the grass fed cows come from Full Circle Ranches which is in Petaluma and is run by a friend of the owner of Willowside so that's good local business. Definitely looking forward to burgers and roasts in the very near future!

I recently took a 3 hour cooking class with a private Indian chef. She directed me to this place for my future culinary ingredient adventures. The selection in the 100 square feet of package goods, frozen goods, bottled goods is not utterly comprehensive, but adequate to prepare a modest Indian meal. The impressive selection of many different rices in 20 - 40 pound bags is eye opening. I walked out with 10 items. Mostly grains, lentils, chickpeas, etc.. A bag of crunchy snacks, some frozen breads and samosas. All the items are imported, surprisingly a couple of items are made in Canada. Prices are moderate. Be aware that no fresh produce, meats nor fishes are available. The folks are friendly. Oh, the fried chicken looked and smelled delectable. When I come back without my health conscious wife I'll eat some.

I was able to purchase Indian spices and seasonings at low prices, and they had almost everything I needed. The young man working in the store helped me find Hing, a seasoning that I couldn't find elsewhere. He was friendly and encouraging about my interest in Indian spices and food. I'll be back but not for a while, as our kitchen is now well stocked.

I will admit that there was a lot of people in the store, which is understandable due to it being a weekend and the holiday season. There is plenty of parking, which is nice as well. The deals are great and there are a lot of good finds. There is also fresh fruit so I will have to come back when it's less crowded and check out the food section. I love that the store is really well organized and clean, which makes it easy to find what you are looking for. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I feel that there were plenty of staff there so if you have a question, one of them can easily help you. I used the self check out and it was a smooth process and the line moved fast. We needed a sun umbrella for the cotati accordion festival and even though inventory showed two there was only one. The guy in sportswear was so helpful and he tried so hard to find the missing umbrella. We ended up just buying one and it was great. Our past visit we had help from a great employee who talked us through price matching. I understand these are stressful times but sometimes I think people take out their frustrations on service personnel. I feel the folks here have always overperformed for me and always tried to help.
