The food is good, but.. Not worth the wait, or terribly rude customer service. Staff acts as if they are miserable and hate people, it does not matter how polite you are to them, several times we have gone until we finally had enough. Wait over an hour for our food, and every time they were rude. I'd rather drive across town than deal with that. We were all very happy that a location moved closer.. But we will not be returning sad to say. We had been going to Ray's pizza for years- then they changed and are now Ali's pizza. We will never return. The pizza is disgusting and the place just has an overall dirty feel to it. We usually go to the Kitty Hawk location but this one opened up right down the street from us so we gave it a shot. The food was awesome. The restaurant is very clean and they even have a nice little arcade area, which kept my kids happy while my husband and I ate. Was ok, not memorable. In no way do I want to discourage you from giving it a try. This is my second and last visit to this place. I have had the philly steak and the 'super' philly steak. I paid 12 dollars for a philly steak on a plate, with canned mushrooms and jarred sun-dried red peppers (I'd bet the overly expensive cost of my lunch on it!). This meal was such complete garbage that I was only able to choke down half of it before calling it quits. Impressive that over 8 months later, they've managed to only decrease in quality. I've been to this place 3 times, and tried to give it another try hoping the next experience wouldn't be any worse than the one before it. Had the shrimp/chicken alfredo with garlic bread. I've noticed that every one of their sauces taste like it comes out of a can/jar. Just bland, and no fresh ingredients. The line at the counter was at least 8 people deep. Serious lack of communication between employees when it comes to teamwork. They're constantly running out of one item or another. Last night, it was pepperoni. Pepperoni? Really? The best thing we tried was the fried cheese sticks. Both the calzone and Stromboli were way under cooked to the point of being cold on the inside. The calzone had way too much cheese. Let me start off by saying I LOVE Ray's Pizzaria. I just don't like this location. I used to live near the location on Blanco and the pizza there is what made me a fan. However.... it is not a uniform chain. I figured I could go to this location because it's closest to my new residence and I would still get delicious pizza. That was not the case. The garlic cheese bread tasted weird and was rubbery. The pizza was much smaller than the larges I was used to getting from the Blanco location and the crust was much thicker. I was extremely disappointed and honestly wished I would have just ordered dominoes. At least they deliver and I wouldn't have wasted my time, gas and money. Rays pizza never lasted past a day in my house and there's still half a pizza and most of the garlic bread in the fridge waiting to be thrown out 4 days later. The interior of the location is too nice to have such mediocre pizza. Hope they get it together... but I probably won't ever find out because I'll never eat at that location again. Today was our first time visiting with my family. Place was very well kept restrooms as well. Food came out faster than what I was expecting. However, didn't like that the order came out separate. We ordered pizza which came first followed by my dish, lasagna,followed by my husbands the philly. But that's not a deal breaker, just a heads up. Food was good. Satisfied. Not amazing or wow factor. Went there on May 23rd for my nephew's graduation party. Called them in advance to reserve the area for the party and to place order of pizzas, wings, salad, and drinks. I wanted the back area so people who were not in the party were not around us. They said they were going to set aside the back area for the graduation party. When guests started to arrive, they told the guests that there wasn't a specific area reserved so they could sit anywhere. Luckily the guests chose the back area to sit in. The party was for over 20 people, which they were told in advance. None of the tables were pushed together. When we asked the staff to push the tables together, the staff told us that they don't push the tables together so we would have to do it. This was very lazy on their part. We asked for a manager, who then said the staff would push the tables together. After standing around for over 15 minutes, the staff still did not come out to push the tables together. The guests ended up pushing the tables together. We ordered 5 pizzas, wings, drinks, and a salad. The first pizza came out about 20 minutes after guests arrived, and the staff told the guests that there was only one pizza ordered, which was a lie. Guests were there for over half hour and the staff didn't come out with the drinks, we had to go ask for the drinks. Instead of the staff carrying the 2 liter bottles of drinks to the table, they had the guests carry them. The pizzas came out staggered. They did not come out all at once or even close to each other. There was a 15 to 25 minute lag time between the pizzas coming out. This was an inconvenience since some people would not eat the pizzas that were already out so they had to wait on their pizza to come out before eating. The salad came out last. Almost an hour after we arrived. That is ridiculous! The staff and management was very unorganized, lazy, and inefficient. This was embarrassing. I will not plan any future events here. read more

Order at your own risk. Period. The service at this location makes me feel like I'm on an episode of Punk'd. On my very 1st visit, it took over 45 minutes to get the philly cheesesteak lunch special while my coworker ordered the same thing and was already done with his meal. When I asked the cashier what happened after 30 minutes of waiting, she said she failed to send my ticket back to the cooks so it would be out shortly. That 'shortly' took another 15 minutes because the cooks were too busy getting other orders out, essentially putting me at the back of the line. Then during my 4th visit, the same coworker and I ordered the pasta lunch special and proceeded to take our seats. Two additional coworkers arrived slightly behind us and they were the 3rd and 4th persons in line to order. After taking their seats at our table, their numbers were called a few minutes later which were the same pasta dishes my buddy and I had just ordered as well. After another 30 minute wait, my coworker questioned the cashier what had happened and she let us know the cooks are just grabbing tickets and getting orders out in no particular order. I cut it down the middle to be able to eat it easier and it was cold in the middle. I then look it back told them it was cold. Went in 35 minutes before closing to order two chicken steaks at the tune of just about $20. It took them 30 minutes to actually prepare two steaks. My impression is that my order was forgotten. 30 minutes later arrived at home with what appears to be 2 hastily prepared steaks. I immediately called the shop back and was informed they could re-do the order or get our money back when the owner arrived the next day. Since the venue was closed, I informed the young lady I would prefer our money back. We've frequented two other Rays Pizzaria's in the city (Fredericksburg and the Blanco locations) and have had excellent food. This was the first time I have had ill prepared food. The chicken was chunked, as per a chicken salad sandwich - I'll upload a pic later- and the other items were not as requested in the order. Very apparent they were ready to close shop. The next day the owner of the shop refused to refund our money because we did not bring the sandwiches back to the store. If we had been instructed to do so, this would have not been a problem. Subsequent follow up call, the owner said he would need to speak with the person who gave me instructions. Another follow up call the owner was "really busy" so I left my number. I have yet to receive any call from this shop. I would not recommend supporting this Rays Pizzaria. The amount of push back from the owner regarding his product was unbelievable. If I were you, go to another location!!!!!!! All in all if there is an option for ZERO STARS, I would give it. read more
