I'm a local and I use this business for myself and my employers dry cleaning needs. So far the clothing dry cleaning has been good solid cleaning, for silk, linen and cotton. The service has been a bit spotty as they often can't understand me or work their computer, but I guess new staff have to be trained somehow. Plus they are expensive, but the only non hotel service on the wild West side! I'm going to try them out dry cleaning couch covers so I will update once it is completed. Update: Well my couch covers weren't ready, and the last lot of dry cleaning wasn't on time either. I think you have to add 2 days to the time they give you. read more

My experience with Alii Dry Cleaners was absolutely outstanding. Can't complain about a single thing. I needed to press my wife's wedding dress and my wedding suit by the following business day, and even in short notice, they were able to accommodate my need and get them ready for our wedding. It was done in less than 24 hours! I cannot be thankful enough because other cleaners charged a lot more and could not guarantee completion by requested time. The owner is very easy to talk to and is very willing to help. The helper lady was also very nice and easy to talk to when inquiring about the services. Again, it was an absolute heaven sent for me to find Alii Dry Cleaners for my wedding. I came in (in a grouchy mood no less) as I brought in my brand new cream sparkly top for cleaning. I received it the night before as a birthday gift from my mom and felt awful about it being stained. Eating prawns the night before, I squirted nasty buttered red prawn guts all over it in huge blotches. I honestly can't believe the intense red/orange stains came out. Over Priced You may never think of laundry while on vacation but I do . I really do not want to pack a bunch of dirty clothes into my luggage then travel back home and have all that laundry to have to do when I get home. Cool thing about traveling is wash and fold . Pro Tip - Before you leave when you are getting down to the last few clothes on your trip and it is almost time to go back home find a laundy/dry cleaners that offers wash and fold and drop them off early 7:30am and come back before they close and you will have clean clothes folded and ready to pack. Usually places charge $1 to $1.50 lb. but this place is the only spot in this area and they charge $3 a pound, still better than the the hotel charges read more

Since 2009 I have been going to Alii Dry Cleaners to launder and press the bed sheets for my vacation rental business. They also take care of my aloha shirts. The owner and staff have always taken care of me. I have never had an issue with communication or service in those 14 years. If their service is poor they do nothing to try and accommodate the client. If there was any where else to go I would be doing so. Prices high and commitment to service very low. I brought these clothes back because they were excessively wrinkled after a wash n fold. They said I would have to pay dry cleaning bill to dewrinkle them. I simple rewash and not stack them so tight would've solved the problem; or a refund. If I had access to machines or time to do this I wouldn't have brought them to "Alii" in the 1st place. Alii Dry Cleaners is located at the very end of the West Maui Center on a side street next to a souvenir shop. It's small and has a parking lot right in front that can fit about 10-12 cars. We were running late one day to pick up a wedding dress. Alii was closing at 5:30pm and we were about 15 minutes away. We called the store around 5:20 pm and the owner gladly said she'd wait for us. We arrived at 5:30 pm and she had no problem getting the dress. The results were superb. The dress was steamed and unwrinkled. The dress was as good as new and we were more than happy with the job she did. If you are planning on having a wedding in Maui, and the bride needs to have her dress fixed after being stored on the plane for several hours, Alii Dry Cleaners is the ideal no-frills place to go to. read more

A decade ago I used Alii for years. Amazing service, community friendly, cared about their local clientele... that went out the window. They charge you up front before the service is rendered, they destroyed articles snd take no responsibility and change the price when you return and ask for more money. I never review or Yelp, this one needs to be. I highly do not recommend this company. No one answers and they do not take care of the customer. The reason for my five star review is that we were able to actually find a wash and fold laundry service on the island while traveling. The hotel we were staying at wanted to charge $75 to wash about six pairs of panties, three undershirts and a couple of swimsuits. It was outrageous. We decided to wait a few days to get laundry done and had a huge bag full of it. We were able to get all of it done for under $25. I know this seems expensive, but in the big scheme of things, when you have nothing to wear, it is a blessing. The store does seem a little older, but it appears like they are getting the job done. No complaints here, and we will be happy to return when we are in town. read more

Excellent little shop. While on vacation, we ended up needing some laundry done, but didn't want to pay the hotel $10 to wash and fold my yoga pants. I not only got my yoga pants washed, but also three men's shirts, socks, undies, jeans and shorts for $18. I think it works out to $3/lb. It was washed and folded on the same day and smelled fresh when we picked it up. I definitely recommend this place for wash and fold service. read more

We were on vacation for almost 3 weeks and HAD to get our laundry done. We were referred here by our hotel. It was a little tricky to find, it's around the corner from the shops. Their price is a bit high at $3/lb but that's just supply and demand. We did the same day service and dropped off before 10am and were very pleased! Everything was clean and nicely folded. OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPRICED WASH AND FOLD SERVICE. I am vacationing on Maui, and saw the sign for wash and fold. I figured it would be great not to be gouged by the resort to do a load of laundry. Unfortunately I was gouged by Alii Cleaners. I had 15 pounds of laundry to do, which is pretty much a big load of laundry. On the mainland, I would say $1/pound is standard, so $15-20 bucks would be standard. I dropped off the laundry at Alii, got the receipt, and took off for my days activities. When i finally looked at the receipt, it was close to $50 for doing the load of laundry. I'm not expecting the same price as on the mainland, but sorry... $50 for a load of laundry is just too, too much in my book. Even though the hotel is expensive, it's not that much. read more

We dropped of over 20lbs of laundry for wash and fold. When we got back to our room to put it away, there was animal hair all over everything. It was either dog or cat hair. We called the cleaners and they offered to refund our $67 USD. They called back 10 minutes later and were told the owner will not refund our money. They said that their sign says they are responsible for lost or damaged clothing. The clothes were neither lost nor damaged, they simply were not cleaned. This business deserves zero stars! Would never recommend this business to anyone! Stay clear! read more

@ 330 on Saturday afternoon I realized that I had forgot to have the suit that I would be wearing to my wedding Sunday morning pressed. The problem was that all the dry cleaners in the area close at 4 and none are open on Sunday. None of them would help me except Alii. Recently moved from Kihei to Lahaina. I've used Alii Dry Cleaners in Kihei and found out they had a location in Lahaina too. They are located in the same mall as Subway and next to a souvenir shop. I couldn't ask for a better Dry Cleaner. Convenient, reasonable prices, great service, and does a great job. I saw a comment below about wrinkled clothes, but I didn't have any issues with my clothes being wrinkled from them. Highly recommended and will be back! read more

I am very upset. I took in a new $180.00 mattress pad ....big thick heavy duty 100% cotton king size mattress pad...high quality...no stains, or tears....NEW! Just needed to be clean and fresh for guests arriving soon. When I went to pick it up I was First charged for the cleaning and then, only then, handed an old thin used mattress pad that was stained with what looked like multiple rust stains AND ripped on all 4 of the stretchy sides!!!! I was utterly amazed. The OWNER of the cleaners was actually there and I explained the situation to him and he said that that was the mattress pad I brought in because they attache a tag to it as soon as it is delivered and the tag matched the number on my ticket so I was out of luck. I then, right there in the store, opened up the pad all the way fully, with the owner standing there, and it was not even a king size pad, not even a queen size pad! Still no acknowledgement by the owner!!! He instructed me to take it home and put in on the bed!!!!! Someone elses' old used stained torn grey mattress pad. Oh...I left it there ...yuck...AND they would not refund my money. Never, never pay before examining your order at any cleaner and since I understand this to be the only cleaners in West Maui then all I can say is clean your linens at a laundromat and don't purchase any clothing that requires dry cleaning. I am on the board of three condominiums here on the island I will be informing all members of this situation. The owner needs to check out the people working for him...someone working there switched out an old used worn mattress pad for what was obviously a fresh brand new expensive mattress pad.
