Ms. Coughlin initially stated that I would be able to view the home if I provided a copy of my driver's license. Relying on that representation, I sent both the front and back of my driver's license. After my identification was reviewed, the showing was denied, and she stated that she felt "uncomfortable." When I asked why my identification was requested and why I was told I could view the home if the showing was not going to occur, her tone became rude and dismissive, and my request for a clear explanation was characterized as being "argumentative." She then provided multiple inconsistent explanations, including stating she did not receive the back of my license, later admitting she did receive both the front and back via my business email, and then stating she could not proceed because the license did not come through via text, even after acknowledging receipt by email. She further stated she was not checking for it and again said she did not feel comfortable moving forward. At one point, she stated, "I see now it wouldn't work with you renting from me." No objective or consistent reason was provided, and the showing was denied only after my identification was reviewed. The shifting explanations and denial after reviewing my identification left me feeling scrutinized and subjected to what felt like prejudiced treatment, rather than being evaluated fairly as a prospective renter. While safety or verification protocols may exist in real estate, they should be communicated clearly, applied consistently, and handled professionally and respectfully. This behavior is unacceptable and fell well below the standards of professionalism, transparency, and fair treatment that clients should expect.

It took weeks to get my fully executed contract back from her, she was very unprofessional, and the company misrepresented the home they tried to sell my family...wasting our time and money. The home was listed with the option to buy with a conventional loan...but there was NO WAY the home would insure with huge active leaks in the roof. YET, they accepted my offer, with a conventional loan contingent on the home appraising, and which point Brenda said she'd work with us to re-negotiate the price with seller/bank. Well, after my home inspection it was obvious that this home would NEVER pass a 4-pt inspection needed for any conventional loan, but also that it was never going to appraise for what they we offered. I then called the city to only find out there were multiple city code violations on the property, to boot. When we told Brenda - she flipped her entire story about working with us and the seller/bank and said she should have never accepted our offer to begin with...ugh..WTF. This home should only have been listed as a cash only - sold as is...instead Brenda kept pressuring me to sink non-refundable money down the drain with the appraisal ... to string me along, and then tac on any repairs to the purchase price. She had no time for us, or our business, and in the end we walked away not because we didn't want the house, but bc I refused to deal with her anymore. Plenty of homes on the market, and BETTER Real Estate companies to work with. Also worth noting...I reached out to Brenda's broker JOYCE GERAS, and received no response on how her agent, BRENDA DRAPER treated us or my agent. This company successfully wasted the time of my lenders, insurers, home inspectors, lawyers, etc etc, etc...and nto even a sorry...for your trouble...in response...nothing. STAY CLEAR!

You can pay your rent online, but if you don't enter your bank routing info, the fee is a little steep. So, I'd recommend paying by check each month, or entering your banking info on the site, which I don't typically do. The duplex I rent is beautiful, especially the lawn and botanical touches, and I get many compliments from friends who have come to visit. I would actually love to own something so beautiful and easy to maintain in the future and rent out the other side. It feels like a house/home instead of the apartments I'm used to since moving back to Florida. I love all the beautiful windows, the paint was freshly updated, nice blinds, cold a/c, pretty kitchen and basically, everything was in good working order when I rented (the items that weren't, such as simple things like the shower fan or doorbell not working, they promptly fixed). I felt like as a management team that they care about my needs. The pest control company did a good job right before I moved in when I pointed out (the very few) pests I found; after that, tenant is responsible for pest control and I take care of that myself with Home Defense from Lowe's and haven't seen any pests. Starting this year, maintenance can be informed a different way: on the website via a form, by email, or by separate phone number to contact. The staff, the maintenance crew and even the lawn guys are extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend Ms. Nada and her fantastic folks at House Huntin'! I understand they manage thousands of properties, and not just in this state. Way to go, staff! Support a local, woman-owned small business that knows how to treat their tenants right (Nada showed me the place personally as I filled out the application, and I knew right away it was what I wanted). I look forward to a long relationship with these folks until and unless I buy my own house at some point. If you contact me or write/call them, please let them know a former renter (Michelle A.) sent you. I think they manage so many places, you and your family will be able to find something suitable. Now I hate to say it but I have to write a retraction to the positive review I gave them. We took posession of our current rental thru them on 21 Dec 17. We were sadly disappointed upon entering this rental. It was totally outdated, air conditioning did not work, hot water tank was non-functioning, ceiling fan in bedroom not working, place was dirty, carpets uncleaned and so much more. Also found two dead roaches under the kitchen sink where the floor of the cupboard was rotted and a dead roach was found in the bathroom under the sink. Microwave is non-functioning and to top it off, no smoke alarms were to be found. Apparently an inspection before we took the keys was not done. A statement was made that a thorough cleaning was done but alas, this was not the case. After all our aggravation and disappointment some of the issues have been rectified but they should have been found in the inspection. Also, I have started doing a thorough cleaning and just did the living room and kitchen area and had to empty my vacuum twice due to all the filth vacuumed from the rug. I can honestly say I would never recommend this company to anyone either to manage or to find a rental. My husband and I are two very dissatisfied renters. Theresa Koplas
