AC wasn't great but the falafel and dips were. Cool concept. Plates are decently sized and rice is not dry. hummus is clearly made in house and falafel had a nice hints of green color showcasing the herbs used. You can choose between several sauces to add to a plate or further customize your plate with a dip, veggies, or rice. We stopped in for dinner the other night. Parking is located behind the restaurant. The restaurant itself is small but charming. We started off with hummus and a pickled medley plate. The hummus is nice and creamy and topped with olive oil. The bread was great but that hummus was next level. The picked medley was fantastic. I loved pickled vegetables and the vinegar flavor is addicting and helped offset the flavor of the meat in the entrees. We got a UFO which is their name for their sandwich. We got it with beef. The beef has a nice char on it. So good with the pickled vegetables. We also got a chicken supernova. The chicken is moist and tender. It is topped with a rich tomato sauce and sits on top of bread. So good and so filling. We ended with a rice pudding. It is a good sized portion. The top is charred and reminded me of burnt marshmallows, which I love. That caramelized sugar and char flavor is so good. Make this your go-to spot for great Turkish and Mediterranean food! read more

The döner was excellent, but what really surprised me was the rice pudding. Perfectly balanced not too sweet, not too heavy. It had that authentic homemade taste that's hard to find these days. We came back again! This time we ordered a chicken wrap and a beef combo plate but the order came out with chicken And beef wrap instead. The server (owner/manager?) quickly rectified the situation, told us to keep the beef wrap and brought out the combo plate later, no extra charge. What a gracious gesture! We ordered a few different things so we could try a little bit of everything. The Beef Nebula was my favorite. The meat was flavorful and I loved the grilled lavash. We also tried the Meteor Bites, which comes with döner over crispy skinny fries, garlic yogurt, and tomato sauce. Such a good combination! And the Beef Supernova (Iskender) was really delicious. It's döner over pita with yogurt, tomato sauce, and butter sauce. For drinks, we had the hibiscus lemonade and the yogurt drink my bf loved. Definitely try the rice pudding for dessert. The restaurant itself has a really fun alien-themed concept, and it's a great casual spot if you're craving Turkish döner or want to try something different in Costa Mesa. We would have preferred chicken, but they were out of chicken. The beef was very dry and didn't taste fresh. We came to try Alien Doner and honestly, it was a great experience. The portions are very filling and the taste is excellent -- it really feels like authentic Turkish doner. Everything was served hot and fresh. For drinks, I personally prefer canned soda. They also have fountain soda, but since I came here mainly for the doner, it's not a big deal for me. There's parking available behind the building, which is convenient. The place is spacious, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Went here a while back since they close late. I tried to order, but there were no employees there. I then started an order using the kiosk, only to find out there was a mandatory convenience fee for using. Eventually, an employee came out. I asked if he could take my order, since I didn't want to pay the convenience fee. He told me "no." I said that is ridiculous to charge a mandatory convenience fee, even when the customer is okay with being inconvenience by not ordering through the kiosk. The food was solid. Very disappointed! We got there at 5:05 and the first thing the employee said was the beef is frozen you can still order but will take time. Also mentioned how we got there at 5pm and that's why things aren't ready. Then we got our order of fries first, they were hot, great . Once we got our 2 chicken wraps they were one not in a lavash they were in one of those uncooked tortillas (tortilla land) you get at the grocers and can cook. It was uncooked and frankly speaking should not have been served when I mentioned this he said yes but I wasn't able to season the grill and make it hot to fully cook the tortilla. He did offer to re make it. The 2nd wrap he said was falling apart so he wrapped it in 2 tortillas but again the inner one was still raw and the outer one was okay. The drink machine had a funny tasting Pepsi and there was no ice. All together it was a horrible experience will definitely not recommend or go again. read more
