I have been in pain the last couple of years due to a breast implant rupture and unable to afford it until recently. Dr Woo was recommended to me by my primary care and I have always had great experience with Sutter.
The video visit I had with her on 5/28 left me in tears. I have had sutter doctors throughout the years treat me with pregnancies, an emergency C section, a baby in NICU and dialysis to Kidney Transplant. NEVER has anyone made me feel nervous or bad for simply asking questions. I do not believe I have been a nuisance since we have only talked 4 times in 3 months and each time has been less than 10 minutes!
I cannot say much about her skills but this is for her bedside manners. I did read the yelp reviews about her being "rude" and having "bad bedside manners". Thought they were just being difficult reviewers. I was wrong.
She does not show any concern or worries for care, gave poor explanations for everything and did not include me in decisions about my care unless I asked.
The first time I came into her office (March 2024) and mentioned that I had been in pain for a couple of years, she laughed out pretty loud and said "why did you wait so long". I guess it wasn't that serious but laughing about it didn't make me feel good since the breast pain has been hard on me. This initial meeting lasted 10 minutes tops. I left feeling rushed and like this wasn't the right choice for me. But decided to give it a chance anyway.
Since I didn't feel that all of my questions were answered, I requested a follow up phone call some weeks later. During that 7 minute phone call, we had discussed everything that was to be done. I was asking simple questions about procedure, incisions, recovery time and she replied each time with an attitude. Once again, I left the call confused about her behavior. Feeling like a difficult patient.
Why did I continue? Another short phone meeting after that seemed great. And office staff and nurses were the best. So it didn't seem that bad.
I have a date planned for surgery coming soon and wanted to check in on specifics, plus ask some questions. So I planned a video visit for May 28 to finalize. I only had 3 questions, which she was visibly annoyed by. Giving me "we already talked about this" and "why are you asking" types of responses. It made the visit really uncomfortable. At this point I am already speechless by her vIsIbLy being annoyed and not thinking about ending the call.
The last straw during that video visit was when I asked about implant sizes. I was inquiring about what size implant she was putting in and she keep saying that she would just order a few and see what looks right on the day of surgery. Then I asked "Didn't you scan the unruptured implant? I want to stay a C, so whatever that size is, would give me an idea of what I want + or -"
This Doctor rolled her eyes and sighed before saying "Let me check". For the 2 silent minutes that she was looking at the scan all I could think of was what I would say. When she was finally done, I said: Doctor you seem visibly annoyed or confused. I am not sure if I said something or did something but I'm really confused by it" to which she responded "well you don't know what you want". She just tried gaslighting me with that response! She did not deny her attitude and was so unprofessional I just ended the call right there.
Once I hung up, all I could think of was, what if I had let her operate on me? Would I have had the best care or results? I have no confidence or trust in a doctor who openly rolls theirs eyes, has an attitude and is unprofessional. This is for anyone reading it to decide and may have a different experience. But I am praying that any elderly or younger person consulting with her is accompanied by someone else.
BTW had I not asked about sizing, she would have given me 1 or 2 sizes too large. I am only 5 feet and 110 pounds so I do not want to be a D cup. She thought I wanted a 250 up to 350 CC. To which I said no, please check the unruptured implant scan so I can stay the same size or decide otherwise. It turned out, based on that scan I would only need anywhere from 150 to 200 to stay a C cup.
Oh and 1 million stars for her office staff and nurses. They were very helpful. read more
