Curious about said sign, we decided to check it out on the way back. This is a newly opened consignment store, featuring the handmade work of local artists and crafters, and albeit some very unique items. Crocheted Earrings, Greeting Cards, Hand-knotted Cotton Rugs, Spices, Tie-dyed T-shirts, Water Bottle Holders made from Fabric, that are Adjustable and Reversible (who on earth came up with such a thing?!!) to mention just a few. The store owner, Teresa, seems to be quite the ingenious 'crafter/builder' herself. She constructed a greeting card displayer that had racks made from Scrabble Boards. Obviously she's acquired quite a few of those boards, as she carries hundreds of Scrabble Tile necklaces that she made. Tucked away on Second Avenue, the store is off the beaten path, so I encourage 'Crockett-eers', especially, to come out and support this venture. Shop local, eh? Though, I did come into the store with the intention of finding a new book(s) to read and I happily did! The store is organized nicely in an easy to access manner. Everything is reachable (coming from someone who is on the shorter spectrum). I will say it was a little difficult for me to find the genre signs, but after looking harder I'm able to see it. Additionally, I appreciate the signage from fellow readers (assuming they're employees) recommending books and giving a short review on them. Overall, this was a really fun experience! If she is an employee, some customer service training could make a big difference. If she is the owner, a warmer and more inviting approach would be important to create a positive impression. It has mostly new books and some great quality used books. To the left of the cafe is a huge children's section that includes a great Spanish selection. My kid & I sat down on the cozy rug and chair to read and picked our favorites to buy. We were never rushed out which I appreciated. My husband found several books and they had a great selection of gifts and unique finds. The staff were super friendly and I saw one helping a young adult find a book. They have a gender neutral restroom in the kids section. There are some small tables and a few chairs inside and outside. I look forward to coming back next time I am in Napa!
