Although this doctor may seem caring at first, things can still go quickly downhill. She hit a roadblock with me when it should have not been one. She lied to me in hopes that I didn't know as much about a certain autoimmune disease, so that she could refer me to a pain management specialist instead. I refused to be sent there. I really needed to advocate for myself so I could get further testing done. My insurance didn't cover my MRIs because she didn't provide the documentation needed to show they were medically necessary. I brought this up to the office. The lady at the front said she'd look into it, but she never called me back. For the last appointment I went to, I asked if I could have my medical documents back as I was getting new health insurance and was planning on changing rheumatologists. The front staff told me lie after lie about why they didn't have some of my medical documents and my X-Ray images that was on a CD. They will make up every excuse to not hold themselves accountable because they know I could sue them potentially. I brought this up to the attention of Angela and Mikayla who oversee the clinic and got banned instead. I'm sure some people have had good experiences at this clinic, but I wouldn't take any chances at all. I only kept going because my insurance provided a very limited number of rheumatologists I could see and the others didn't sound promising. Thank God I advocated for my myself hard and still convinced Dr. Sivaraman to prescribe me a DMARD before I stopped seeing her. Because of that medication, I was able to get back on my feet and start working again. She was about to make me someone else's problem because she didn't care to look into things more. It's thanks to me that I'm doing better. Maybe now, I can actually receive a diagnosis soon. Save yourself time and energy, and don't come here.

It is now 2:22- a full 50 minutes and still we sit in the lobby. The girl who hates her job and is clearly lazy, seems disinterested in customer service. She simply said Dr Basu is running late all the time every day, adding "do you want to reschedule?" No, I said. We've been waiting for 55 minutes without you or the doctor giving us an update. Very unprofessional and a horrible way of inviting new patients to your healthcare practice. Dirty lobby floor. Lazy front desk people who look likey need to run a mile. Doctors over 55 minutes late with no communication. AVOID THIS PLACE

Radius Assist has contacted Dr Basu's office by voicemail and email 18 times since 7/28. I have called Dr Basu's office 23 times since 7/28. I have spoken with Leslie and Taylor numerous times. I have left numerous messages for Staci Fiock, Dr Basu's nurse. I have not spoken with Staci yet. As of this date, the form has not been completed. I have been waiting 5 months for this office to complete the form so that I can get the medicine that I need to be healthy. Dr Basu's office is deliberately preventing me from getting my medication. Their behavior is unethical and unprofessional. I do not recommend Dr Basu or Heritage Rheumatology.

Amanda made everything about herself, and I had to sit there and listen to her tell me about her own journey over and over at each visit. She constantly talked over me, one-upped me, and continued to make every appointment about herself to the point my husband said something to me about it when I didn't even bring it up to him...he never notices anything, so I was shocked. I never felt heard, and though I have no doubt she knew what she was doing, Dr. Roopa listens and says that I know my body, and would adjust accordingly and it always worked. Amanda would always tell me what worked for her, and didn't listen when I told her I knew my own body, and her methods for herself were not working for me, even though I tried them. She did give good advice, but it wasn't advice I needed at the visits. I haven't had issues with the front office staff or the nurses/techs. My BIGGEST complaint besides Amanda, is the fact I cannot see Dr. Roopa every visit. I hate going back and forth between her and the medical assistant. I have no issue with the current MA I see, but I don't like not seeing the same doctor every time. When I explained this to the front, they told me it isn't possible to see only Dr. Roopa. I've never had a practice like that before, and I already have medical anxiety as it is. and seeing different people triggers it badly. I explained this to the front and they wouldn't accommodate me. If Dr. Roopa weren't so amazing, I would've changed practices a long time ago. 3 stars because I'm so torn...

I don't know if they're rotating their staff, but there seems to be different people each time I visit. I don't care about that, I just want the level of customer service to be consistent and to continue to improve. I adore my care team, they're always pleasant and when something is needed in between my visits, they are very punctual when completing the requests. Keep it up!
