I am always searching for Mediterranean food! I came across Ali Baba and added it to my list of places. As luck would have it we stumbled upon it when we were at the Spartanburg Spring Festival. The place was very busy and Sarah the young girl at the counter remained calm, cool and didn't get frazzled. Even when i witnessed a couple of customers make rude comments! The food was SO GOOD! Marie's energy and hospitality was amazing. I had the falafel salad and the lamb rice bowl. I had all the side sauces as well. Everything is made in house, Even the lamb gyro meat! We visited Ali Baba today for the first time and are very impressed. Not only has it a great atmosphere but also awesome service and fantastic food. My wife and I had the gyro platter with lamb which was very delicious and my children had a gyro wrap also very delicious. The whole restaurant gives you an oriental feeling. The only thing I would change is the choice of music. I'd love to have some oriental music to it and a little more meat to the gyro platter. I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. read more

First time having Mediterranean. I ordered the Falafel side which comes with 3 and the chicken gyro. Both of which had outstanding flavor. Seating inside, but more seating outside. Seem to have a good selection of beers with 3-4 choices on tap. Reasonable size of gyro and amount of food for the price. They have a new menu item the falafel pizza and when it was going to another table it looked great. Didn't get a chance to take a picture of the menu but it's located on their clover site. Oft times vegan options mean a mundane salad or a questionable entree that may or may not have been cross contaminated in the kitchen but no such issues at Ali Baba's. Local,fresh, and family owned, what more can I say? This place is amazing! It is for sure a fan favorite for me! It's so good! I tell everyone walking by how good my food is when I eat here. Lol I am an extremely picky eater when it comes to taste. If I can make it better at home I don't waste my money. This place however, I just can't. I've had the gyro, hummus, and the platter. After seeing a lot of raving reviews for Ali Baba, I decided to give it a try. The first time I tried to go, I was disappointed to see that they close early on Wednesdays! Alas, I was finally able to try them on a Thursday and I am so glad I did. We got the hummus platter (14.99) and a smoked pork gyro (10.99). The hummus platter presentation was what enticed me first, but after the first hummus dip, I was hooked! The smoked pork gyro was amazing as well. We opted to get the lime vinaigrette dressing with it instead of the teriyaki sauce, but I'm sure the teriyaki would've been great as well. The platter came with an assortment of veggies (carrots, bell peppers, cucumber slices, olives) and pita bread. Best pita bread I've tasted! Service was prompt and patient. Annick, our server, was great! The eating space is pretty limited indoors, but it looks like they had ample amount of outdoor seating and other games to play out there too. Why does anyone like this place? We have gone a few times and the food is below basic, bland and not worth it. The hummus tastes like it's from a deli case, the foods too dry, undercooked or overcooked. It's terrible and the people who say it's so good don't know or understand good food. The decor has to be from dollar tree, it's a eye sore and not worth it. If it was free I'd say no, if they paid me I'd say no! The service was basic and rushed us every time. After eating gyros at the Greek Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs Florida for over 20 years, Ali Baba's has the best gyros my wife and I have ever tasted The hummus and their pistachio baklava were also out of this world. We can't wait to return and try some of their other menu items. read more
