This is the Mediterranean version of the Chipotle style assembly line of a bowl, plate or platter. Also similar to the Poke Bros with their poke bowls and a similar assembly line. Probably something that Subway started with the choices customized by the patron. In this case, you have a base of either rice or greens. There are protein choices, dressing choices, topping choices (up to 8 complimentary) and so forth. Choices of quinoa, brown rice, white rice or mixture were available. The portions were large enough to really stretch one meal into two servings if desired, otherwise, it will definitely fill you up. This is oriented towards the healthy, Mediterranean diet choices. Including the healthy assortment of drinks such as Turmeric Tea, which was good and different and has health benefits for digestion or over the long term, lowering blood pressure - but that is the claim of turmeric, not of the restaurant. Honestly, I don't know why I hadn't eaten here before. I have passed it often since it's located on the corner of Woodruff Road and Hwy 14, and would see people eating at its outdoor seating whenever I would enter Sprouts. Plus, I really like Greek / Mediterranean food AND there are many gluten free and dairy free options, in case my husband was with me (and I have already told him about it after I got home). Anyway, I was having a lunch meeting at 12:30 pm, and there were many people already dining there and many others in line to order. Yet, the line moved quickly. My friend that I was meeting ate here often, and was wonderful explaining the menu to me, which is great because there were so many options to choose from. I ordered the Kairos Bowl and asked for it to be put into a to-go bowl (she's smart to advise me to do that too) as this eliminated the waste of having to transfer to a doggie bag/container for leftovers. The portion size was great. The ingredients were fresh. And everything was tasty. Building the bowl and getting to select the protein, grains, veggies, and spread from the several options were amazing. As mentioned, I liked how they even marked which choices were gluten free or vegan. We didn't realize we both had ordered the Kairos Bowl though we chose some different options. I didn't receive a slice of pita, and didn't know it would come with it, except my friend had one. I did wonder what I was supposed to do with the three spreads that I selected . . We thought maybe they assumed since I was choosing GF options, that I needed to avoid the pita since it definitely has gluten, so she went up to get one for me, and she returned with two pieces but I let her have the extra piece. The prices are very reasonable. In fact, I ate at a different Mediterranean restaurant the week before and this was comparable yet I really like all the vegetables and plant-based protein options here. There are indoor and outdoor dining seats to choose from, plus takeout/carryout options too. I'm quite certain I'll be back and my husband now has another place to choose from. read more

Yum yum! I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did. I came here for an early lunch to beat the crowd and I'm glad I did because it can get busy. The restaurant is clean and refreshing and the staff is really friendly. I got the build your own pita sandwich with chicken. I picked all the fresh toppings to go with it. I also got a side of fries and they came out hot. The pita was super filling. My friend got the build your own bowl and my daughter got the chicken quesadilla. Well it's been a while and I'm back with another review.. This time of Kairos Mediterranean in Greenville SC.... When I first walked in the place it was giving me chipotle vibes... I was pleasantly surprised by the food and refreshing drinks.... I got some type of Mediterranean bowl and it was GREAT...did I mention it had sweet potatoes in it? The falafels were some of the softest I've had and the topper was the cucumber water and turmeric tea.. I just ate there again last week and will be sure to add photos next visit.... This was my second visit at Kairos. Overall good food and nice atmosphere. Reminded me of a Chipotle style ordering system. I tried the Earth & Turf bowl this time. It was okay, could've added more protein. They seem to be shy on giving protein and pieces of pita bread, but generous on the green as the base of the meal. Another fabulous eat clean restaurant, I loved it. My friend I work with loves this place. I finally went today St. Patrick's day Sunday. Omg she was not lying at all . I loved it everything about it . The girl at the register helped me i had never been she took her time with me walked through the process. Told me everything I needed to know, made suggestions. It was a great experience, I had the protein bowl rice, beans , your choice of meat and topping all the toppings you can get . With the protein bowl you get three sauces and dressing if you want it. Love the flavors! They offer greens bowls, grains based bowls, or a combo! Love the protein options with falafel being my favorite as it's hard to come by! Don't skip all the amazing toppings, I get almost all of it! Everything is so flavorful and unique. You can chose up to three "sauces" and I recommend hummus, baba ganoush, and red pepper feta! The prices are wonderful around $8.50 a bowl and the atmosphere is clean, modern, and friendly. Workers are easy to chat with about items. The Greek fries are awesome! read more
