The driving range is absolute garbage now. How do you have three levels and never have any spots open. Half of the stalls are taken by someone scamming parents for their kids private lessons or there's like dozens of high school kids there practicing with their team. There is some kind of bootleg video/launch system that is a joke. The course itself has seen better days, but I give it 3 stars because the courses short distance makes it enjoyable for all levels. The chipping and putting greens are in terrible shape as well, but it maybe the only place you get to hit the over-priced practice balls. read more

Great 18 hole to play on the weekends. Course was relatively well maintained for a public course, the driving range wasn't too crowded so we hit a few balls before playing. We did book a later T time (2.50pm) so we did not finish the 18 hole by sunset. Golf carts were easy to rent, and the pro shop was well stocked. Lots of lakes, birds and ducks. Just another city golf course with great service and landscape. It's not a long golf course. If you are long hitter then I don't recommend you to play here. It's less than 5500 yards from blue tee box. If you want to score low then I recommend you to play here. A lot of short par 4s and par 3s. Par 5s are fun to play with some waters in play. Play on weekdays or play early in the morning to avoid long waits. Putting greens are bit challenging and fun. If you want to make some eagles then this is perfect course to play. If you get lucky, you might run into famous people here, too. read more

18 hole course: good for beginners but with that being said, my son and I had 3 instances where stray golf balls almost hit us while we were putting on our greens. Stray drives from adjacent holes. The course was also superrrrrrr slow. The marshal was out there policing the course but there were a lot of "weekend golfers" out. The course is good for beginners, there are easy holes as well as challenging longer holes. Good job with the cheap junior rates. Ball machine is always lock at the driving range. One time at 7am the employee said they lost the key. Today at 7am they said there are no balls in the machine and I need to wait for awhile. I struggle to figure out how this golf course has maintained a four star rating. The course conditions are very dry and many areas on almost every hole is marked in white for repairs. We tee'd off at 12:25 PM on Saturday and finished by 3:30 PM, almost three hours to finish 18 holes. That's a record. It could be a combination of the shorter yardage at this course, the burning temperature at the time the city was at its hottest of the year, and the course conditions. I just mentioned that this is the hottest day of the year so far but there was not a single hole where cold water was offered or a cart person. This is the only regular 18 hole golf course I have been to in Los Angeles and OC where cold water was not offered on the course to prevent dehydration or heat stroke. They offered a few water fountains (the ones from your elementary school days found in the hallway of classrooms) that are set in the between two holes under the hot sun. Touching that metal button was hot enough but trying to swallow the hot water after some intense sun is not a good idea. After finishing the first 9 holes, we had to stop by the snack bar and order some cold Gatorades and down some cold water before finishing the back 9's. A guy walked in shortly after I did, holding onto to a basketball and dressed in a sleeveless t-shirt and attire that appeared appropriate for a basketball court. He sat down at the table and proceeded to begin moaning loudly and yelling about something incoherent. None of the employees seemed bothered this. I thought it was a joke but noted that the other diners were also confused. I had to wonder if I was still at the golf course! Beware, due to insurance limitations, no spectators or caddies are allowed. Everyone on the course is required to play. I had hurt my wrist at the driving range last week and wanted to sit out this game until it healed but still wanted to check out this course for the first time. I'm always excited to see how a course looks, feels, and play. Typically, I would just pay a rider's fee, if any fee at all. Not at this course - full greens fees with my own bag of clubs was required to go out or stay behind. Luckily, I always carry my clubs with me I went back to grab them. I sat out a few holes so that I didn't further injure my wrist. The greens are nice, fairways are lined with trees on the side so it's pretty challenging. Pace of play was good too, but mostly had something to do with the high temperatures. There are other nearby courses that are more affordable and same if not better conditions than this course to play. read more

I've been coming here since high school and it has changed a lot. They just renovated their bays and it's so much better now. They have phone holders and also top tracer which allows you to track your balls. I love coming here around 4-6 pm for the sunset and the environment is very chill and relaxed. Bill, Micah, and Frank are super nice and welcoming. If you are looking for a chill spot to hang out and hit some balls this is the place you want to be. read more

Good enough course for the price, but don't forget your hard hat! The layout of the course means that errant shots are coming at you from all angles, and honestly by hole 4 I was getting a little jumpy. I think there are a lot of new golfers playing here who seem to have forgotten the age old warning word, so we spent most of the round dodging golf balls. Came here for a date activity and we had so much fun! Surprisingly very busy 1 hour before closing time. No human interaction needed since you pay for the balls and fill it up from a machine, grab yourself a (free rental) golf club, and find a spot on any of their three levels. We had 130 balls to kill in about an hour and the workers will definitely remind you how much time you have until they shut off the lights on you. read more

Just discovered this little gem after living in Alhambra for over 8 years! They have a sweet three-level driving range! And prices are cheap for a bucket o' balls. Here's a tip for newbies: Bring gloves if you're gonna drive. Apparently, I have super tender hands or something, cus they started getting red after a few swings. So sad, my longest barely got past 150 yards. I definitely fared better in the putting range. It's an uneven green, which makes it all the more challenging. Learn the grip, adjust my form and BAM!! What an exhilarating feeling when I first successfully hit the golf ball. I literally screamed out loud in excitement!! I felt awesome!! I think I was a quick learner, but I had a really patient and sweet instructor who sat through quite a few air swings. By the time I was able to hit a few consecutively I was stoked... and then I hit the air again... I'll work on it. The driving range here seems to be open later than their competitors. During the summer the lights are on til midnight and during the winter the lights are still on until 11pm. I am especially impressed by their free golf club rentals if you haven't committed to your own golf clubs or if you forgot your golf clubs at home. The honor system is pretty interesting because they leave the clubs in the open and they trust you to return them. They have two practice ball dispensers that accepts cash, credit card or membership keys. There are baskets to the left of the machine and you place the basket in the bottom opening before you work the machine. - small: $3 for 30 balls - medium: $6 for 60 balls - large: $10 for 100 balls They have three tiers and plenty of lanes to practice at. I prefer the top level. I don't like being distracted by other balls flying around above me so it seems like the ideal spot. They have signs up in the field so you can see how far your ball went. My best hit was straight towards the 75 yd mark with an iron. I know it isn't brag worthy at all but it's my first time and I'm proud of myself! When we were done, we went towards their restrooms to wash our hands from all of the balls and stick handling. I noticed that the place was really nice, maybe even photo shoot worthy. I think people actually have their weddings here too. Anyways, I can definitely see myself coming back here to practice my golf swings! Maybe I'll be good at it someday and invest in a nice set of pretty pink golf clubs. read more

Staffs are rude. whole course's tee boxes under construction which made whole course like par-3 course. But they didn't even let me know it was going to be a short course when i paid and didn't even offer a discounted rate after I complained. They said "Yes, I know. it's been on the website for a while." and stared at me felt like I was being treated as an asshole. This course is already a short-18-hole course and the only reason I played was that it was cheaper than other courses and the availability. I played par-3 course here today with full course price. 1st time playing here at Almansor and it was spectacular. From arriving to the course, to the driving range and facilities everything was safe, clean, and very convenient. Everyone was spaced out and separated for COVID guidelines. Big thank you to Julius the starter who made sure our experience was a stellar one. From checking us in early to showing us the contactless ball machines. Check in early if you have an afternoon tee time as they may run short on carts & Bring a credit card as they don't accept cash at this time. The course was so nice. The greens rolled perfect and the fairways were punishingly narrow. All in all it was a great round and I will definitely be back. Even if you book two weeks in advance( which the app won't let you ) you can find a decent morning to play. There app doesn't work properly either. The new carts are fancy and clean. I loved the big putting ground before going to course fairways. The course length is 5478 with 71 par which is middle cozy size. Greens are in fair condition and mostly we can see good view scenery. They have enough parking spaces. The three-level shaded driving range is cool. read more

Inconsistent hours. I REMEMBER asking when the driving range closes and they said 12AM. I was able to buy balls at an hour before closing too multiple times in the past. I just thought Yelp and Google was not updated. Came in today and I couldn't buy balls at 11. I just want them to be consistent with the time so they don't waste my time. read more

I never complain but this one is warranted. It's 9:45 and I arrived at the range, the attendant at the range tells me they are closed. There was 4-5 groups that were still practicing and he goes on to rush the groups to tell them to hurry and finish because he's closing. I asked him "don't you guys close at 11 and sell the last bucket at 10:30?" He goes on to say we are closed. I asked him "what do you mean?" He says good night we are close, good night we are close. All the other guys working here are great and friendly. This isn't the first time Mario has done this. In the past it would be 10:30 and most of the groups were gone but some were still practicing at the putting green and he would ask everyone to leave and that they are closed. Last time my friend was putting his clubs away at 10:45 and he had turned off the lights and asked us to hurry up and leave, saying they are closed. This isn't right. Sometimes he wouldn't even tell everyone he's turning off the lights and just turns the lights off 15 mins early and forces everyone to leave. Massive disappointment. Why hire someone that cares zero about the game and doesn't even take his job seriously. Not acceptable!! Honestly. read more

I play here regularly. I think this Alhambra course is one of the better course. It's a short course, perfect for me with short distance hits. But that's not it. The grass is very decent, pretty green for southern California dry weather. However, the greens are pretty slow at times. It's always enjoyable when playing on nice grass. Oh, by the way, the driving range is a 3 level deck. Alhambra has a tracker system that works with TopTracer. I didn't think the distance was very accurate, but the direction are very accurate. When I came here with my now husband on a date a long time ago, I tried to show off and smashed my driver head into the tee area's ground-- the 3 wood went flying 35 yards. So embarrassing! Just a shorty, like this course. It's fun because there are so many drivable/close to driveable par 4's. It's like being a tour pro. You know, to Matthew Wolff, a 350 yarder is a drivable par 4. To me, 270. I dig their range. It's a trip. I love that they have a chipping and putting area with a bunker! I'm a short game fanatic. The course is really short and has a lot of easy holes. The course is usually in average condition. It's easily walkable, with only a couple hills that might get one winded. Most greens are pretty flat, but a couple are tough. The price is fair. Parking is good. It's usually a decent pace of play. The staff is excellent (go Cubs) and very nice. I'm a fan of this unique little golf course. FORE! read more

The cost of green fees are increasing in January and this is ridiculous. The course is horrible leaving mud all over and lots of wet spots and there are lots of dry spots where you are hitting off the dirt since there is no grass. The sand bunkers need to be improved because they are in horrible condition but yet they want to charge us more to play here but won't improve their course and leave us to play on a bad course. I don't recommend coming here if you plan to have a fun and enjoyable game. read more

Great public course. Well maintained and improvements are constant. Fairways are in great shape for a heavily trafficked public golf course. Greens are challenging as reads are not as they seem. It's a short course even from the blues but has its corks to challenge you, especially the back 9. A good way to brush up on your long iron play. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. It has a three-tier range and currently making improvements such as top tracer system being implemented. I would give it a fifth star but the one knock I have is the pro shop does not carry any Taylormade products, especially balls. I would think that a pro shop would carry a major player in the Golf Game(Taylormade). read more

easily my favorite muni course, pro shop is filled with young people but they're very respectable! if Julius is there he'll instantly make your day, easily the best management in all of LA. Courses and greens are well kept (aside around aerating times but that's a given) and the only downside is the slow pace of play depending on what time you go! they don't have marshals so there's nothing much you can do about it but grab a drink! if you're a beginner or a an intermediate player looking to build confidence this is the course. ALSO, Driving range people can be very loud and there's always someone having lessons taking up multiple stalls, so if you like quiet ranges with respectable people this is NOT the range for you read more
