How long has Alfredo's had the buffalo chicken and ranch pizza with the basil and ranch on top that we all know and love? Today I ordered the same buffalo chicken pizza I always do via UberEats. When I opened it up it was just a cheese pizza with some chicken thrown over the top. Assuming maybe I ordered the wrong thing or there was some kind of mixup through UberEats, I called to pick up a new one myself. When I picked it up, the new one was made exactly the same! Review for take out only. Alfredo's was closed down due to a fire but now reopened after a year of renovation. Wanted to show my support by ordering a pie to go. It was hard to get anyone's attention when I was there even though I was the only customer. Zero interaction when I picked up my order. Staff found it and plopped the box on the counter. Similar to other reviewers, rudeness vibe is definitely there. Average looking pizza, probably one notch up from school pizza. Great prices for HUGE portions! Amazing & fast service! BEST subs in Melrose! I have never made a review before but I had to download this app to review them. You are met with friendly faces when you enter. They have a huge menu to choose from. My girlfriend and I got the Falafel wrap, the Chicken Pesto wrap and a side of sweet potato fries. It came with an additional bag of potato chips. Let's just say, it was a FEAST! My girlfriend raves about the falafel wrap and the chicken pesto sub was the best sub I've had in many years. Juicy, grilled chicken, the perfect amount of pesto, melt in your mouth cheese, delicious toasted sub roll. The sub stretched about 12 inches. The sweet potato fries were fresh and they must have used at least two whole sweet potatoes to make them. Around $40 for all of what we got is a steal! We will be making two meals out of all of the items we bought. This is a hidden new gem of Melrose. I can't wait to try their pizza and the rest of their menu! We ordered the meat lovers pizza and it was entirely unremarkable. It was okay, but it was really bland and very light on meat given it's called "meat lovers." A couple annoyances: the "tip" defaulted to 15% for a pickup and I had to return to that part of the order to delete it; also, an automatic "service fee" was added (4%) and it doesn't say for what. How about telling your customer why you are penalizing 4% at checkout? So basically, a very regular bland pizza was over $26. No thanks. We won't we back. read more

I called up and order a veal parm sub for pick up. Told 25 minutes (it was just past 5 pm). It is a small restaurant so haven't ordered since Covid but there was a local FUNdraiser.Went in lots of covid protection for us both (customers and workers). Told them what I was there to pick up and out in less than 5 minutes love it! When I got home what awesome packing sub was in a container with tinfoil wrap (no leakage of sauce) inside. We won't discuss what a mess I made at home, but that is not unusual. It was so yummy and I felt so good to help with a FUNdraiser as well. Dunno about most of the other food but the Veggie burger my wife ordered was a joke. For $12 you expect to get more than just a veggie pattie stuck between 2 pieces of bread. No toppings. No Cheese. No sauce. Extremely disappointing. I don't know how the owner can be proud to have this item on their menu. Maybe they hate vegetarians? Also my fried chicken was clearly left in the fryer too long and was way over cooked. Rock hard breading and dry chicken on the inside. Difficult to eat. As were the onion rings which were also over cooked and nearly rock solid. Fries were krinkle cut, and while nothing special, they were at least cooked properly. Alfredo's came to Melrose a few years back and has always been a staple of mine for quick Italian food. It was always comparable to our favorite dine-in restaurants when it came to taste and food quality, but I can see that this is quickly going downhill. We ordered from Alfredo's on Friday night knowing the service would be slow. We ordered about four things and were quoted 45 minutes, no big deal. An hour and 15 minutes later I called to check on the delivery time only to be told the server should be here in a few minutes. 30 minutes later we called again and they said she should have been there an hour ago. We confirmed the address was correct and while on the phone she finally pulled up. The delivery driver walks up to our front door and is SO rude about everything it was despicable. I was still on the phone, so I let the manager know that her behavior is going to quickly turn customers away and he apologized having received similar complaints before. I figured the food would be cold, but it was still warm. I was happy that it was still in good condition and hadn't gone cold in the car on the long drive over. The Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp wasn't bad, but the lettuce definitely wasn't fresh. The Chicken Neapolitan sub was missing several ingredients and one of our family members felt ill after eating her chicken fingers and fries which was NOT OKAY. The french fries were the worst I've had in a long time and they used to be pretty good. It was amazing how bad the food was compared to our previous orders to Alfredo's. We have been customers for a long time and are officially not anymore. The service was terrible and they kept trying to make excuses, but the food didn't make up for it like I had hoped. Rumor has it this restaurant has undergone management changes and the suppliers are different, which may be the case, but the food has really gone under. Today was my first and last time ordering from Alfredo's Italian Kitchen. When I got home from work today I had a menu in my mailbox so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the Chicken Romano. It sounded wonderful from it's menu description. "Breaded chicken tenders, sauteed with ham, new sweet sauce (marsala) over mushroom tortellini, topped with mozzarella." I also ordered the garlic bread with cheese. First off...the garlic bread was uneatable! It had WAY too much garlic and parsley on it, and it was burnt. The cheese was like a plastic sheet and the bread was soggy in the middle and burnt on the outside. The garlic was so overpowering I couldn't even finish the one bite I took. The Chicken Romano had the same plastic like cheese on top of over cooked ham and under cooked pasta. The mushrooms inside the tortellini was dry and flavorless. The breading on the chicken was soggy, and the marsala sauce was greasy and watery with a salty, syrupy taste. It was gross. The only positive thing I can say is the the delivery was fast and the delivery person was very friendly and courteous. I will be throwing the menu in the trash along with my $21 meal. read more

Have tried their pizzas (better than average), the steak/bbq sausage tips with rice, the kids meatball w/ravioli, chicken wings, and their steak bomb sub...all very good, and above average quality and portion....pizza was slightly dry, order with extra sauce and cheese. I went into Alfredo's at 230pm in November 3, 2019. Ordered a pasta dinner for one advertise between 11am-3pm pasta dinners for one are 8.99+tax. When he ran my card for the food and handed me a receipt I was charged 17-18 dollars for a menu priced plate of chicken broccoli ziti Alfredo which I is listed around 13.99. When I pointed out the advertisement and asked why I was charged more they told me I didn't ask for it.... so I told them that wasn't a good way to keep customers especially when this is a lunch deal that doesn't involve a coupon it's just a daily thing they do in which he replied well it's for a dinner for one as another excuse when they only sell one size. I told him I wouldn't be back and that it's crazy how much they don't care about first time customers that order from them. Also either out of spite or stupidity the worker didn't even cover the food correctly and wrapped it in plastic wrap so when it was unwrapped boiling hot oil and Alfredo sauce spilled and caused burns in my girlfriends lap whilst she was checking for the instructions on the food we gave them which also were not carried out. We will not be back and I hope this review will bring awareness to these issues and inform other customers who are either first timers at this establishment just so they know how they do business off rip. Because I felt like they trapped me into paying full price and the excuses that were given could have been remedied if they had respect for their customers but unfortunately they're just crooks. read more

We got one of their menus left in our mailbox and the menu looked good. We ordered an assortment of things last weekend as we were babysitting our young nephews. Truly, their portions as someone else mentioned, are large so we had enough for dinner and then lunch & dinner the next day. lets be honest, there are a LOT of pizza places around. Alfredo's offers the usual assortment of pizza, italian food, sandwiches, etc. They make a particularly good buffalo chicken pizza - apparently all the teenagers love it. I tried it and it wasn't spicy but it was tasty. Its one of about three pizza places in Melrose that I like. Chances are you will get a good version of whatever you order. The food is average Italian pizza...although the bread they serve with some of their main dishes is always fresh and tasty. I've been ordering from Alfredo's in Melrose since 2013 and it's always really great! For pizza, the Buffalo Chicken Ranch is amazing! I have also ordered the Apple Walnut Salad with chicken. It's overpriced to be honest, but I love the lemon vinagrette with the apples, goat cheese and tomatoes. The Greek wrap is also delicious, and it's never a problem when I request no olives. When I get delivery, they are always on time and sometimes come early. The woman who delivers is prompt and polite. As far as take out places go, this is one of the best in town. read more

This place is awesome! I don't know how long it has been open in Melrose, but someone left a menu on our doorstep a little while ago which prompted us to check it out. A little pricier than your typical sub/pizza place, but totally worth it. Pastas and salads are huge (enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow). Creative pizzas and pastas. We've ordered about four or five times, and got something different each time...haven't yet been disappointed. Scampi pasta is my favorite so far. One of the worst pizzas I've ever had. This is not a "hidden gem" this is ultra low quality ingredients paired with minimal effort. Ordered a small pizza and a hot sub recently. The pizza cheese appeared not to be completely melted but upon further inspection realized it was just really poor quality cheese - very mealy. The hot sub was drenched in grease to the point that the outside was getting soggy and the bread was untoasted - why have a hot sub and not even ask if you want it toasted? Weird.
