We had the pleasure of having Kool Covers install 3 covers (patio, carport, swim spa) and a cement pad. The 23ft x13ft for a 19ft x 8ft swim spa 23000lbs wet weight 4 inch rebar). Jeremiah stayed in close contact about the appointment for the bid. He was prompt, friendly, professional and discussed freely and openly all pros and cons to each option. We had 11 other bids. Most bids were higher (2 extremely high), a couple lower (you had to question the ability to do a good job) and several in the same general range. The choice to have Kool Covers was an easy choice the honesty, experience in the industry, price, and quality expected in their work stood out. The job had to be done in strict time frames. The pad had to be poured and cured, fence removed to bring the spa in, the fence had to be back up the next day and the new siding painted and the covers installed. The pad was done less than a week after the contract was signed. Due to weather and other parties delays the spa and fence were delayed 6 weeks. Jeremiah stayed in contact via phone, text, and email. This was nice not having to worry about when on if the cover crew would be here and working in the allotted time frame. With weather cooperation and the other contractors completing their jobs Kool Covers went to work on schedule! The crew of two men worked like a well oiled team. The crew answered any questions and explained everything they were doing. Three covers one patio 10ft x27ft, one carport 20ft x20ft, and one spa cover 24ft X 14ft X 12 ft tall. Installed in one day!!! The crew swept, and left NO mess (unlike the other contractors). The spa cover and patio cover each have an additional two foot tall cement sleeve around the support poles. We learned a valuable lesson with our first covers about male dogs and rain. The old covers support pole and attaching bracket rusted due to male dogs and rain water puddling around the pole and slab attachment. Thanks to Jeremiah his willingness to discuss pros and cons, as well as positive attitude finding answers the dogs and rain won't rot/rust out at the bottom. Would I use or recommend Kool Covers YES, YES, YES for myself, family, friends or anyone wanting a professional, reputable, fairly priced and good quality job!!!

One day in the fall of 2020, while walking across our porch, my husband's foot punched through a…read morespot of rotted wood. We promptly decided it was time to have it replaced...better than ever before! We got a couple bids for the job. But Charles really stood out because: 1. After walking the job, he promptly sent a detailed bid and CAD drawing. We refined the scope several times and every time he would promptly refine the quote and redo the CAD drawing. Very good follow through. Not pushy, just responsive. 2. He had a large book of color photographs of his work that helped us choose finishes and make design decisions. He has done a TON of patios and pergolas in different styles. I love this book because there are a lot of decisions to make -- it's easier to point to the picture you like more vs. having to imagine if you want feature A or B. In terms of price, Charles was in the middle -- not the highest bid and not the lowest. But we got the best feeling from him, and that's what is important to me. We redid our kitchen two years ago and our general contractor (not Charles, obviously), fled the country in the middle of the job after a progress payment! Yikes, bad memories. I am very happy with how my patio and pergola turned out; we seriously live outside now. We have a plexiglass cover (to protect from rain) and fans (to help somewhat with the Texas heat). Charles and his crew were great overall. Pluses: - They only do outdoor patios and pergolas. This is what they are good at and they are fast. - Charles was here a lot, especially at first to get the job started. He didn't just oversee progress, he was out there working and sweating with his men. - Charles helped to perfect the design while the job was in progress. He had his wife paint several different colors of grey stain onto sample boards so we could choose the right one. We spent a few hours perfecting the brick pattern on the columns. He wanted us to be happy with the final outcome. - Flexible with changes with very few change orders. I must have added 10 electrical outlets...didn't get a bill for it. So unusual for a GC. - Open to feedback when we felt like something wasn't perfect. Because they were outside my kitchen window, I would do dishes and watch progress unfold. And let him know when I didn't like something. Absolutely never got push back from him. He would call his crew or come by and fix it immediately. - Follow through has been great. Even after we were all paid up, he sent over a crew a couple times because rain was getting through my plexiglass cover. Again, so unusual for a GC. Minuses: - I wish they would broaden their scope from just outdoor patios and pergolas to other things. I have a bathroom I would love for them to remodel. Ah well. Anyway, check out the pictures. One of the prettiest patios and pergolas I have ever seen, and I'm lucky enough to have it in my backyard.

All his workers were courteous and respectful every time they came over. I trusted them enough to go out of town for part of the time they were at our house. I can't say enough about his whole team from his electricians, project manager, mason, tilers, painters and everyone else. They are experts at their jobs and would be glad to have them do more work in the future. Hey, they put up with me and all my design decisions and were very patient throughout the whole process. Even the cost was a fair price. Thanks Mikey and team!

I have a completely non functioning master bedroom, bathroom and closets, all of the materials in the garage I can't use, a house in shambles, a lot of damage to other parts of the house from the Home Remedy crews and they won't return my money. After we had concerns about an unsupervised minor being left to work at our house, Mike Crigler became angry and decided her didn't want to complete the work anymore, but said he was going to keep all of the money for services he refuses to do anymore. No attempt to return my money or fulfill the contract. Construction fraud and child endangerment are serious crimes. Mikey Crigler put us through a lot of risk, stress, was completely verbally abusive and has now stolen a huge amount of money. Mikey refused to give a straight answer about why there was a kid working at my house. Good contractors don't behave this way at all.
