The quality and value received for cutting down such a Monster of a Tree with moss was outstanding. The crew arrived early this morning right before 7am as promised and they finished the job before 3pm. They removed the tree, and the stump, as well as cleaned up all the debries. We emphatically recommend Alex's Tree Service, and would give them more stars if Yelp would let us! Based on a neighbor's stellar recommendation, we called LAST NIGHT to schedule someone to come out and look at the 60' rotted tree in my backyard. Thomas arrived at 8:30 THIS MORNING, reviewed the tree, asked about our concerns, was professional, polite, and quoted us a better price than we had from any of four other tree services. We signed the contract with him at 9:00. At 11:30 THIS MORNING, a crew of five arrived and took down that tree like a SWAT team in a movie. It was incredible to watch! By 2:30 TODAY, the tree was down to a flat stump, completely removed, and the whole area was cleared of brush and leaves. Less than 24 hours from our first call to Alex's Tree Service and the tree is gone! We had Alex's Tree service come take down a large tree in our back yard ahead of a landscaping project. Thomas worked with me over the phone and with photos to agree estimate the price. He booked us in for a date less than two weeks out. The team arrived on time. They were careful and courteous about parking vehicles and they got to work quickly. It was a full day's work for five of them (big tree) but they were methodical, safe and expert. They were also unbelievably courteous in how they treated the yard. They cleaned everything afterward, and even tidied the space where the trunk had been into a pretty circle of sawdust and replaced a little rocking chair and side table. It's hard, dangerous work, but these guys were expert and very cautious and safety conscious. They were very competitive on price. Highly recommend. read more

The joys of home ownership reared it's head when summer came and there was an obvious dead 40' pine about 10' from our house. Yay. I had wanted two large oaks by our house trimmed up and needed some stumps ground / removed anyways so I went ahead and called a few companies to come out. Thomas was the gentleman who came out to our home and prepared the quote. We spent about 30 minutes walking through our property and the work to be done and his quote was both thorough and with a cash discount, the cheapest of the (4) companies I had come out. They were a bit back logged, so I booked for about a month out. Day of the service comes around and Alex and Thomas come to my house around 6:15 to do a pre-walk through with me and make sure they were hitting all of the work that was quoted a month back. The two were really easy to work with and when the crew arrived about 30 minutes later, they got right to work. They wrapped up everything by around 1 PM and did a great job cleaning up after themselves and even did some additional work (I had an extra tree fall in the meantime) for free. It's an odd market and I certainly met some nice people from other companies who came out and quoted me. Overall I was really happy with the work Alex and his team did and our yard is so much more open now. I would certainly recommend them. read more

About a month ago we came home from a trip to find a slew of large branches either hanging off the trees or on the ground in our back yard. We did what we could to clean it up but got to a point where we needed a professional. I called Thomas at Alex's Tree Service on a Friday to explain our situation. He'd said he'd be out on Tuesday afternoon to give me an estimate. When Thomas assessed my trees and yard, he gave me what I felt was a fair estimate given the scope of the project. He told me it might be a few weeks before he could fit us in, which I was fine with, but that he would call if he could fit us in any earlier. The next morning Thomas called and said Alex and his guys could come out that afternoon! Nobody was going to be home but he said that was okay. He said they should be able to finish that afternoon but would finish the next day if they ran out of time. I was excited to see what I would be coming home to. I got home after it was dark so I couldn't really tell what had been done, but the next morning I looked out to a perfectly done job. One tree was entirely removed, a half tree was also removed, and the hanging. branches were gone. All the debris on the ground were also gone. I will definitely use them again if I'm in a similar situation. read more

These guys did a fantastic job for us, and ours was not an easy job (electrical lines, nearby homes, etc). The quality of work is impressive - real professionals here. Always punctual, very efficient and and went well beyond what other services offered to do - and for less. One thing that amazed me is that actually volunteered to go to our neighbors on our behalf to explain what was going on so as not to cause concern (after first asking our permission to do so). They did a phenomenal clean-up job too... They even took up my old dump pile with years of old grass clippings & fallen branches (which became exposed after the trees/brush were removed) - when they say they'll clear an area for you, they mean it! They didn't leave until I was completely satisfied and was able to comb over the work. read more

I've had Alex's Tree Service out at least 3 times. They are always on time, do an awesome job, and clean up like you would never know they had been there. They aren't the cheapest or the most expensive but they do a great job!! You pay for what you get. Happy camper!! read more

Extremely rude. I called them to set an appointment on Wednesday. He would only give me a 7:30 am - 9:00 window on Thursday saying he just couldn't pin it down any further because of his schedule. So I stay home from work and am ready at 7:30. The first I hear from him is at 9:42 when he calls and says he just screwed up because of the weather (it's lightly drizzling), and now he's just too far away to come. Told him never mind, I'll find someone else. read more

When I called originally (late February) to have him come out and quote me he was very fast to come out (same day) which I was very impressed with. He couldn't come out and do the job though until the end of April. The job was trimming three trees. I told him that was fine and he had me send him an email confirming that he could come and do the job anytime between now and the end of April, which I did. He called a week ahead of time and left me a voicemail saying what day he would be there. He called again a day before he was scheduled to come out and left me a voicemail stating that he would come out as scheduled and to call if I had any questions. I did not have any questions so did not call back. The day of he called again and tells me that since he could not get a hold of me that he could no longer come out that day and he was sending his workers elsewhere. I told him to cancel the job. read more
