BLT with fries
Lark P.

As a visitor to Oregon, it was a nice experience to be somewhere with good ambience and great food. Each order was too much food to eat all at once and the prices were very reasonable. Our server was competent and very helpful. It would definitely be a favored place if I lived here.

Ok so this is my new neighborhood place. First, the food is good, I picked the patty melt and fries, they even asked if I wanted to ranch, and remember to say yes to that, because the ranch was yummy. The fries are thick cut, fried crispy and really good. The patty melt was on marble rye as it should be, and the burger was definitely cooked with the onions because the yummy onion flavor was everywhere. Second, service was stellar, nice people who remembered their regulars, and checked up with me as I waited for my takeout order. Third, who has comfortable bar stools? The his place does! They are soft with backs, just perfect. My husband got the gyro and I was pretty jealous because it was also delicious. Lastly, price point, they are cheap, I could eat here cheaper than a fast food joint, and have a nice place to sit and better food. This will definitely be where we go for authentic gyros, and burgers. I can't wait to try more.

Bacon wrapped jalapeño tots. They fried the begeezus out of them, it was glorious! Highly recommend these well fried nuggets of bacon and potato!

My new favorite drink this summer

For the first time in the Fairview, Gresham, Troutdale area I asked a bartender for a suggestion and not only did they listen to what I wanted they delvered!! It was the perfect drink! She listened to a couple things I was looking for and created liquid magic for me. Fruity, not too sweet, and refreshing. Jessica at Alex's actually listens and created a delicious original cocktail. The burst heat on the rim of the glass was an awesome bonus and compliments the drink! I worked in this industry for many years when I went to college and am so happy that I finally found a place in this area to come have a flavorsome drink created by an attentive individual. Jessica you rock!! Tonight I posted many stars because she rocked it!!

Haven't tried the food yet, but always the spot to go for UFC events. ZERO cover charge, great drinks and awesome service.

Some former coworkers from LA flew in to help out the Portland warehouse. Met up for some drinks…read moreand food. We had the Steak bites with Onions and Mushrooms, side orders of fries, side orders of wings, and Tacos. Food was what you'd expect at a Dive Bar. Everything's affordable, my tab only came out to $38 which shocked me. They have a Jukebox box which you can link to your TouchTunes if you have the app. There's lots of seats inside and out. It seems like it has a lot of regulars. Sam was our bartender for the night. She's very quick witted, multitasks without issue, and engages with all of the customers. Sam was very attentive, and came to clear our table as the empty glasses, and bottles started to pile up. There was another staff member there briefly who wiped the table down for us prior to seating, did not get her name. We went on a Tuesday night, small crowd, temperament was mild. No security presence that night but it doesn't seem like it was necessary for the type of crowd. If you're in the area, it's definitely a solid dive bar to check out. If it was closer to me i'd be a regular. Will keep this place in rotation when I travel back out to that side.

Food is cooked right behind the bar so you can see what's what. Service is as fast as it can be with a pack bar and patio, but always within reason. Prices are Great for we low income peeps. Also the place is always clean and I know they have a professional cleaning crew regularly besides the staff.

This last weekend was my 4th stay at Edgefield and let me tell you all my favorite things plus a…read morefew extra tips! - The vibe is perfect for anyone who is tired of the standard hotel. So much art to look at, curiosities tucked in every corner, space to roam and explore! - Get the passport to make your stay even more rewarding and fun! I love the scavenger hunts and the stamps force you to do things you might not normally do on your own accord. - The full pitch and putt course is a relaxing and a fun way to spend a few hours. It was only $25 per person and took us 3 hours. - I signed up for the Makers Tour and highly recommend it! Lots of tastings and great historical facts along the way. - The soaking pools at night were perfect to relax muscles right before bed plus no kids after 8pm. - This hotel doesn't revolve around children. The movies that were showing were rated R and most of the pubs and pool hall are 21+. Kids are welcome - but I've never seen that many kids around which I like, personally. - It's very Dog Friendly!! - The live music is incredible. I've been here for big concerts on the lawn plus mini concerts down the winery hall. They were all amazing. - It can get noisy between 7-11pm especially in weekends! The building is old - not sure about insulation and things! Bring some earplugs, a positive attitude and maybe enjoy an extra drink! Or go during the week for a quieter experience. - The food is a bit pricey but if you are doing the passport it makes a little more sense. Some of my favorites are the Cajun Tots, Portland Dip, any Burger, and the Bagel and Lox Breakfast is Incredible!!!

My husband and I recently spent two nights at McMenamins Edgefield to celebrate our birthdays…read more While the property has its unique charms, our experience was a mix of wonderful amenities and significant disturbances. The Highlights * The Saltwater Outdoor Pool: This was the absolute highlight of our stay. The water is kept at a perfect 38°C (100°F), making it incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend visiting after 8:00 PM when the pool becomes an 21+ area. * Thoughtful Details: The robes provided were high quality and very comfortable. Pro-tip: Be sure to bring flip-flops for the walk to and from the pool area. * Art & Dining: The murals throughout the hotel are fascinating to look at. We also had great experiences at the on-site bars and the Black Rabbit Restaurant, where both the food and the service were excellent. The Room & Stay Quality We specifically booked a room with a private bathroom and shower. However, most rooms at this location utilize communal facilities. Unfortunately, our room was located very close to the shared bathrooms and lavatories. Due to a complete lack of etiquette from other guests using those facilities, it was extremely noisy throughout the night. Because of the poor sleep quality and the noise levels, we likely won't be staying here again. It's a beautiful property, but the layout and noise issues made it difficult to fully enjoy our birthday celebration.
