Amazing olive bread and their version of scones is the best I've had--a sweeter, lighter morning treat.

We try to go once a month on a Sat. The bread is always incredible, so fresh, it just melts in your mouth, and the cookies are awesome!!

My mom and I were visiting Gloucester a week or so ago and, while shopping around town, came across Pastaio. Once we saw that fresh pasta in the window, we had to stop in. They make fresh pasta and they dry pasta in the shop as well. Then there's a bunch of other Italian goods and foods - and the wine! The staff were wonderful, and my mom and I walked out with dried pasta, candied lemon peels, a bottle of wine, and more. If I lived in the area, I'd be here once a month to stock up! It's a special shop, and the staff make it even more special.

Instead, you'll be doing weekly fresh pasta nights. Do you like wine? Definitely don't go here, because there's a great assortment, BOOM, you'll buy a bottle with your fresh pasta. I haven't had the raviolis because I'm not full on masochist (everyone says they'll change your life even though the owner insists she is more proud of the spaghetti) Speaking of the owner, I've caught her doing the dishes herself, how many owners do that? How humble, very demure. Not to say the staff isn't helpful and friendly because Tyler will help you pick out a bottle that is tall and skinny so you don't have guilt about finishing it in one night. Like I said, don't go here because you won't leave empty handed. There's also an infamous rumor that Anna Delvey frequents here-- who's to say?

It's a true Italian bakery feel. Lunchtime is going to be busy because people always wanna get their food there and I totally understand. I'm the same exact way!

They'd gotten some coverage on a local news show which probably helped fill today's doors, but I've become a regular and they are always busy--but not too busy to have to wait long. The owners are named Rob and Cassandra, both of whom are trained chefs, which means their food is done so well! They bake their freaking bread fresh every single day, and it's wicked good. The chopped sandwich today was so amazing and was way better than some of the ones I've had which seem to dominate reels today. They had some kind of spicy crunchy garlic mayo which was fantastic and didn't overpower the meats. They don't pre-make these or any sandwiches, each made to order, which is so awesomely old-school. Their quality of deli meat and cheese is really exemplary, not grocery store Boar's Head. They have a great, but modestly sized, selection of imported Italian goods including fantastic olive oil, pastas, conservas like anchovies and even caponata! I also urge you to get a made-to-order cannoli, which was absolutely among the best I've ever had. The generous, sweet ricotta filling was thick, but not dense or cloying; we got pistachio and shared one, which was as strategic as slicing a brownie six ways, in the office, to reduce calories. Anyhow, I'm not on the payroll, nor even related, or I'd be there again right now.
