Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch. Service was fast and friendly. We're told the they were out of the Greek beers, and a wine that my date ordered. She chose a red instead that was good. Ordered Calamari as an app and it was pretty good. She thought it was over-breaded. I thought it was good. I ordered the Gyro, and she chose the Falafel sandwich. Both were really good. She had tried for a side of babganoush, but they stopped making that and the server was surprised it was on the menu. My date also tried for a Chianti and they were out of that as well. My opinion is that they are getting ready to shut down, or supply chain issues are hitting them harder than most restaurants. read more

Wonderful flavors and a great menu. We were meeting my daughter for a birthday lunch after church and Alexander's came up for Garner area. And memories were made with great food choices that will bring us back in the future. We started with an appetizer of fried cheese and a flaming cream sauce. She was the polar opposite of the male server who, we observed, was informative, attentive, and personable. Diane may be better suited for a different line of work. This restaurant suffers from not having a better wine list and not having a full bar. The menu was limited but the appetizers were interesting, well presented, and tasty. Highly recommended Mediterranean restaurant. They have great customer service, their food is amazing, and their prices are reasonable. We were in the area and decided to takeout lunch from Alexander's. It was easy to call and place an order, customize menu options, and to make adjustments to our order time. After reviewing their online menu, we ordered their chicken souvlaki, falafel sandwich, Greek coffee, baklava, and chocolate mousse cake. We were blown away by the quality and flavor of the food. I loved the falafel sandwich. Lately the Mediterranean restaurants I have been to serve dry, flavorless falafel - not this restaurant. Alexander's falafel is moist and packed with flavor. The tzatziki is also AMAZING. So flavorful and perfectly portioned. The baklava is tall and portioned well. The only item we did not like was the Greek coffee. They are unable to package it to-go so my fiancé drank the coffee while picking up our food. He said that their was a lot of residue at the bottom of the cup. I had very high hopes for this place based on reviews. My husband enjoyed his meal, but my diet is tricky (No lane animal products) and I asked questions, but was disappointed. Garner's hidden gem! I really like what they have done with this spot, I loved the colors and columns lined with lights. Alexander's is now serving Sangria! Order the Sangria because it was tasty!! We decided to split a few appetizers to start (they also bring fresh bread out for the table): Alexander Shrimp - one of their most popular appetizer items, the shrimp were huge and the dish tasted great Spanakopita - the best thing I ate, I loved this dish! Spinach and feta wrapped in phyllo, amazing! For an entree we decided to split the Stuffed Salmon special. The salmon was stuffed with crab meat and was served over angel hair pasta topped with a cream dill sauce and a side of fresh vegetables. Downside, the price was $29.95 which is a bit steep. But, it was enough to split between two people and we still had leftovers! For dessert we split a piece of Tiramisu. I mean how could you not order any after they bring a huge tray out with delicious goodies to tease you with. While it was not my favorite Tiramisu, I thought that it had great flavor! Next was Saganaki, flamed appetizer with a white wine sauce; you will find yourself using all your bread to capture the remaining sauce long after you've finished the cheese. Highly recommended. Following was the Lamb Youvetsi and Lamb Slouvaki as main courses. Did not get a chance to taste the food. Our waiter was not competent at all. We had to flag him down after waiting 15 minutes. We order our drinks, 15 minutes later he comes back to take our order, without the drinks. He was not knowledgeable at all about the specials. Luckly the other tables were in earshot, so we were able to hear about them from the other, competent, servers. Another 15 minutes goes by and a server came by to ask my companion about her choice, by this time we were fed up. We told we were leaving. I asked for the manager, she was the manager. We told her about sitting there for 45 minutes and we still did not get a drink. She apologized, but that was it. She did not offer a reason to come back again. What a shame that she has lost our business, I would have liked to have gone back but the only thing I found that was good, was the piano player. read more

First and foremost, please accept my family's thanks for a most incredible meal a week ago yesterday. We had come from all over the country to celebrate the life of my brother, who passed away unexpectedly Saturday July 6th. After the services on Saturday, we were looking for a special place to gather for dinner on Sunday before we all returned to our respective homes. My mother discovered your little gem of a restaurant and we decided it felt like a great pick. Well, to say the least, we were overwhelmed by the amazing service, ambiance and cuisine. I enjoyed the Lemon Risotto, light, lemony, creamy and delicious. Kudos to the chef, and for all the other meals too. Just delightful food served graciously in a cozy, comfortable space. Oh, and your Tzatziki, I'm drooling just thinking about it!!!!! Amazing! PLEASE, should you decide to open a sister restaurant in Central Florida, please let me know. We tried Alexander's for the first time today for lunch. What a nice surprise! We wanted something besides the typical chain places and didn't want a bar and grill either. This place is tucked in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The food is delicious, fresh, and there's lots of variety. We both had the gyro and we're glad we did. The meat was tender and plentiful, topped with a fresh tzatziki, lettuce and tomato. The side Greek salad was dressed with one of the best balsamic vinaigrettes I've had at any restaurant with vegetables and a nice wedge of feta We definitely will be going back for dinner to try the calamari and maybe the moussaka. read more

I've passed by this place tons of times and I really never thought much about it. What a terrible, terrible mistake I've been making by overlooking it! The food is extraordinary. Everything was amazing from the bread all the way through to the dessert. Our table had some kind of vodka sauce meatball pasta dish, chicken parmesan with pasta. We had the lemon cello cake and some type of chocolate mousse cake for dessert. we were there 5 hours ago and I'm still full. Visited here for lunch. It was near the end of lunch time so crowds had thinned and it was quiet inside. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a grocery store as the anchor. Aesthetically it was bright and clean inside and not overly decorated. One thing I like about restaurants in strip malls is when they have a way to give a bright environment while closing out the natural views of being in a strip mall...cars, people meandering, noises. This place did that right. The menu is a typical Mediterranean menu. I tried the Greek salad which was not the authentic version without lettuce but the Americanized version with lettuce. However it was fresh and tasty and the dressing was house made. I had the lemon chicken and rice soup and it was hot and tasty as well with chunks of soft carrots, white meat chicken, and celery. I'd give the nod to another Mediterranean restaurant in Raleigh as the best but this was really very good so no complaints at all! Could have eaten a bowl of this, but had gyro coming. The gyro meat was perfect though for how I like it. Crispy but not at all greasy. Browned nicely. The tzatziki was fresh and delicious as well. Portion sizes were generous. The staff was super friendly and gave input into other things to try they enjoy. I'll try them on future visits. Pricing is fair and overall I'd definitely recommend giving them a try! read more

Alexander's is not something that you would except to be good when you find out where it is, but its is! when you walk into Alexanders, its dated and not bright. BUT... their food is exceptional when it cones to Mediterranean Cuisine. I live and work very close to this restaurant , so I have it often. They of course have some options people that are not big foodies, but live a little! My favorite apps here are the Grape Leaves, the Bruschetta, the Calamari, the Hummus and the Dip. My favorite Entree to order is any of the following, Lemon Linguine, Seafood Linguine, Crab Cakes, Lamb Shank, Paella, Grilled Pork Chops or Beef Kabob. Really you cannot go wrong with anything here. Came on a Thursday night for dinner. We started with the saganaki. She brought it to the table and set it on fire. It's covered in lemon juice and I think a lemon sauce too. Just so delicious. I got the vegetarian combo that had 7-8 yummy dishes. My favorites were the falafel and hummus. My hubby got the moussaka and he said it was good and the serving was huge.
