No one informed my husband that his throat would close up on him and he would be choking the first few days after surgery. Most doctors prescribe a steroid to take for that reason alone. Dr Morgan didn't prescribe steroids for him to take nor would he give any to my husband after I frantically called his office after hours. I ended up finding someone who gave me 3 prednisone pills (my mom) to get him through the hump. I couldn't bare to see him choking and not being able to breathe. My husband to this day says those steroid pills saved his life. Morgan's work is good, but clearly he doesn't know what it feels like to not be able to breathe and feel like you are dying. For that reason alone, I would find another doctor. My husbands eyes were bulging and he was gasping for breath when we got home. Do not put your loved one through this! It's unnecessary.

Then you will be interviewed by his Physician Assistant who asks you medical questions and does a quick exam. Then Dr. Morgan comes in to discuss your medical issue. I had CD's and reports from previous spine surgeries and the corresponding reports. Dr. Morgan advised I should get a Myelogram and CT scan to diagnose my problem. I was diagnosed with a Tethered Spinal Cord which needed to be repaired. I had the surgery and he repaired the Tethered Spinal Cord as well as removing the hardware in my Lumbar 4-5 fusion. The surgery was in June 2017. Three and one-half months have gone by and I am feeling great. Dr. Morgan and his entire staff are professional and very caring. If you need a highly educated and responsible spine surgeon he is the physician you should visit for your health issues.

At my 2-week post-op appointment and every appointment afterward, I repeatedly tried to explain how intense and persistent the pain was and how concerned I felt about it. Unfortunately, I left those visits feeling unheard and dismissed. I understand recovery from spinal surgery can be difficult and unpredictable, but as a patient, I desperately needed reassurance, guidance, and to feel like my concerns truly mattered. Instead, I personally felt like I was repeatedly told to "wait it out," even as the pain continued month after month. During this process, I was referred by Dr. Kalra to multiple different specialists in an attempt to address the ongoing nerve pain. However, after being evaluated, those doctors ultimately referred me back to Dr. Kalra regarding the issues related to my fusion and recovery. This left me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for answers or support. More than a year later, I am still dealing with the same nerve pain that began after surgery. This has significantly affected my quality of life. When I contacted the office again hoping to discuss the ongoing issues I've been experiencing since the fusion, I was informed that I was being dismissed as a patient and later received a certified dismissal letter from the practice. That was incredibly upsetting after trusting this practice with my care and trying for so long to advocate for myself. I'm sharing this only as my personal experience. It had collapsed in on itself from a fusion that had no hardware around it for 10 years. No one would operate on her. She saw 3 different orthos and TBI was going to do a completely different procedure that wouldn't have helped. She wasn't walking and they wanted to wait for 6 months to operate. Dr Dickerman saw her and he was amazing. He knew exactly what she needed done and was ready to do it. He is not going to hold your hand and baby you like some people seem to need but if you have a difficult issue he is the guy to see. I've been told complicated cases are his favorite because he is the best at them. His staff is also very on top of things and organized. If you go into the office not expecting someone to hold you why you cry, which is not his job, and go expecting a very smart capable surgeon he is the guy. Just set your expectations.
