Dr Alexander Linna is a General Practitioner located in Arcadia. He is thorough and thoughtful with his examinations. I have been very satisfied at the amount of care that is taken to carefully evaluate my lab reports as well as my physical examination. I have been able to ask questions and receive concise answers. While computers are used, personal attention is primary. My concerns are always considered important and are addressed. I've had thorough pre-op examinations, as well as routine follow-up check-ups. Booking an appointment or requesting a prescription renewal is easy at the front desk. Questions and concerns are addressed promptly by the staff with a phone call. Parking is readily available in the parking lot immediately outside the office. There is a large parking area with handicap parking. There are a number of medical offices in this building. read more

Dr Linna was my elderly mom's doctor for at least a decade. I would NOT recommend him for elderly patients. For some reason my mom trusted him but in the end it likely contributed to her suffering by his attributing her issues to her age. One time he tried to do a pelvic exam and she screamed from the pain. She had all the common signs of cancer-back aches, losing appetite and weight, poor sleep, and he did one blood test and said no cancer. Her cancer was missed by the radiologist-they both thought they were looking at her bladder, but it turned out to be a tumor! She would tell him she was in extreme pain. He would tell her to take over the counter meds or do some back stretches. Turned out her cancer had spread and she could barely move. How much suffering did she endure from his disregard of her pain most likely chalking it up to being elderly? All of us caring for her could not stand him by the end but by then it was too late. Go elsewhere for adult women and the elderly. read more

After the retirement of my family doctor, it was time to look for someone who would match his attention of care . I'd been with him for over 15 years and have gotten to know his sense of humor and approach to medicine. I'm glad he is enjoying his retirement, but he is missed. In the search for a new doctor I tried several offices before I met Dr. Linna. He practices out of a small office in Arcadia with Debby as his only staff. She is a delight! I've been with them for over a year now. In that period he has taken the time to answer my questions with patience and practical advice. So far, his recommendations have shown positive results every time. In my last visit I was assured retirement is not in the immediate horizon. I think I found my new family doctor. read more

Dr. Linna has been my family's doctor for over 15 years, since my first son was born. He has been to Huntington Hospital to examine all three of my sons when they were born. He has always made time to see us when one of our family members has a medical situation. He is extremely patient, thorough, and even takes my calls at weird hours when I am worried about something my kid has. We recently moved and I went to find another doctor in my new neighborhood. At first the new doctor seemed ok (although the office staff wasn't very competent). But then, my husband couldn't get an appointment for a couple weeks for something he needed. Then, when one of my sons had a painful lump in his shoulder, I made a call to the new doctor. To my surprise, I was told that I couldn't get an appointment until the following month and should go to urgent care. ??? I don't get it, what do you mean we can't see our doctor? After various negative experiences with the new doctor, my husband and I decided that we would take our family back to Dr. Linna, even though his office is twice as far as the new doctor. We weren't used to being disregarded and not being able to see the doctor when we needed to. We're all glad to be back and happy to have him as our doctor again. read more

If it wasn't for Dr. Linna, I probably wouldn't still have my dad right now. My father was ready to get on a plane to go home even though he was REALLY ill. When Dr. Linna checked him out, he advised him against traveling, and although he didn't listen to my mother and me, he did listen to Dr. Linna--thank God. Dr. Linna ordered quite a few tests and bloodwork and discovered that my dad had a massive blood clot in his leg (DVT)! He didn't mess around and prescribed blood thinners immediately. Had he taken that flight, he might not have made it back there alive. Unfortunately, Dad's insurance wasn't as competent as Dr. Linna, and they refused the prescription which was so infuriating. However, we went a more difficult route and I gave my father shots in his stomach until the oral medicine was approved by the insurance company. My dad is now on blood thinners for the rest of his life, (which he still has), thanks to Dr. Linna. Dr. Linna is extremely thorough, and a good doctor who doesn't just assume "it's nothing" as many other doctors do. In fact, my father felt that something was wrong before he flew out to visit me and brought it up with his own doctor who simply dismissed it without checking anything! I can confidently recommend Dr. Linna without any qualms, whatsoever. read more

I have seen Dr Linna since 2008. He is a professional with integrity, compassionate, and an excellent listener. Dr Linna is thorough and really has a patients' wellbeing at heart. He is factual, and takes the time to go over all reports etc. I have always been treated by Dr. Linna with respect and dignity. In the past 12 years, I have gone thru major potential life threatening illnesses with him, as well as the common flu. Dr Linna is absolutely top notch, and it is no exaggeration that as my doctor I trust him with my life. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Linna for several years. He's one of the best doctors I've had--so much so I made him my son's pediatrician. He gives very thorough examinations and has always seemed genuinely interested in how we are doing. Visits with him never seem rushed. And we have had no problems seeing him as a walk-in patient when we needed to. On the the down side, this is a small private practice and so he doesn't keep a lot of medical supplies in stock (e.g. some vaccines, liquid nitrogen). He's happy to order it, but it's been my experience that his office staff doesn't let us know when the supplies arrive so we can schedule a follow-up appointment. We end up doing the follow-up calls, which we consider a small inconvenience to work with a doctor we trust. All-in-all, I would recommend Dr. Linna to anyone looking for a doctor who cares. read more

If it wasn't for Dr Linna I would probably be blind in one eye. Having contracted shingles, Dr. Linna immediately saw that I also had an infection under a muscle in my cheek which was very close to my optic nerve. He took me straight to the ER, they checked me in and gave me an IV of antibiotics. The infection subsided by morning and my eyesight has been great ever since. Had I gone to bed that night without the assistance of Dr. Linna, I would have probably been blind in one eye. Thank you so much Dr Linna!! read more

Dr. Linna is incompetent and not up to speed with modern medicine. Based on the décor of his office, combined with his outdated view of his field, one would think he just came out of a time warp from the 1970's. A lot has happened in the medical field since this era passed. He is ignorant of current advances that could benefit his practice and patients. He is also deficient in his capability to listen to his patients, which is critical. He wants to write a dissertation rather than pay attention to those who keep his practice in operation. Given that he wears Looney Tunes ties, I've gathered that he is geared towards the pediatric field with a limited scope of ability to effectively deal with and treat adults. For these aforementioned reasons, I cannot recommend him to anyone. read more

I highly recommend this doctor to everyone. He is every mothers dream. My 10 month old is currently her doctor and I am proud to say it. I am also a nurse, the care and attention his patients get is very high. Thorough assessments unlike no other doctor I've experienced. read more

He is very personable, professional, highly energetic, and a caring person and has given me and my family high quality medical service for many years, and his referrals to specialists, when needed, have always been to highly capable and quality doctors.
