You should definitely hire these people if you don't value your time. I was confirmed a time for a move at 1PM and provided a security deposit within 2 mins to secure the appointment. I texted to verify the arrival time the day of and was told they would need an extra 30 mins. I called at after 50 mins and was given another excuse of 45 mins. I told them I wanted to cancel which then was given more lies and the person got mad at me for not wanting to wait even longer. Steer clear of this company at all cost. I would have given a half star or zero but yelp doesn't allow that. And the topper, the company will not return my security deposit after 5 days. Calling and texting will not do anything. All 3 movers were very careful with my furniture and meticulously wrapped all my electronics! They asked questions to ensure the furniture and boxes were moved and situated in the right rooms. They also helped me to move some of the existing furniture! My only complaint is that the owner changed my scheduled appointment very last minute which he offered 10% discounts (though the movers also arrived later than promised timeframe). read more

You get what you pay for. Hiring a mover is really about two things - moving things without causing damage and getting the job done on time. My experience with Alex Movers is zero for two. I hired them to move a few typical large residential items (dresser, washer/dryer, etc). Similar to other reviews, they said in accepting the job they would arrive at 8 AM. At 7:40, I was informed they were late due to traffic and would arrive at 9:15. At 9:32, I contacted them again, and was told it would be another 16 minutes. They arrived for the estimated 2 hour job at 9:50 AM, nearly 2 hours late. They were reasonably efficient and did wrap items with moving blankets and shrink wrap. I directed the three-person crew where to place things, and moved back and forth between the movers. The job was completed in about 2 hours (just two hours later than expected). However, after they left, my wife noted several large gouges and a significant scrape in the new hardwood floors in the bedroom from moving the final large dresser. The crew did not inform us of the damages, requested payment in cash (as agreed to previously), and left. For the past week, I have been going back and forth to achieve an acceptable solution to this problem. I was informed that he has "a boy" that can come and fix it. I asked for his qualifications to ensure the work is done acceptably, and the plan. Neither contact information nor qualifications have been provided, nor has any timing. While initial communication to book the job was swift, post job communication is often delayed by a day or more, requiring additional prompts from me to get a response, and we've yet to reach any acceptable resolution to damage caused by their crew. At this point, my messages aren't being returned at all via Yelp messenger. If you're okay with poor time management and accountability, they are a good value. If you care about your time or don't want to be on the hook for damages, I would strongly reconsider your choice. read more

It's never taken four hours for a one bedroom apartment in all my years of moving, but this one did. They did an excellent job from start to finish! Provided a reasonable quote in a short time after requesting. The day of the move was very rainy, so they ran behind but communicated very effectively. When they arrived, they quickly moved the furniture and made sure our couch and chairs didn't get wet. When we unloaded. Again, they were fast and placed furniture in whatever room we asked them to.
