Very confused at what transpired. My previous job with Alex went extremely well and I could see why he came highly recommended. With the same deadbolt having an issue, I felt Alex would be a great person call again. Today I called at noon, Alex said he would be at my residence around 1:30. No call. At 2:20 i called again and asked if he was still planning on coming and he said "within 20 minutes". Turned out to be a total no show. I needed a spare titanium key cut for my car. Everyone I called said they needed a laser cutter and charged around $60. So I chose the one that was the biggest in a fancy strip mall. The guy didn't do it properly and even bent my key, the key wouldn't even go in the ignition. So I called Alex he told me $30 not knowing the key was already cut once. Alex, straightened the key and recut the key and only charged me $15! He said since it was 1/2 done already, talk about honest and fair. Works perfect now! I guess classic case of experience matters, they been in business for over 15 years. Looks like a small hole in the wall and might drive right past it but don't be fooled by the appearance. read more

Tried calling this place and the call was lost. But Alex called me back and followed up which I thought was nice. I needed a new key fob and an extra key made for my older model truck. We have used Alex twice in the past 4 years. Even though this is a one person company, he does a decent job putting in new locks at our work. Our lock wasn't expensive but the service was another $75. So be prepared to pay at least $100 if you call him. If you drive by his location on South, he is never there. Just try calling the number listed here and it will reach his cell. He will ask for directions and most likely will call you back for it again. His warranty on his work is only 30 days but I do wish he makes it at least 90 days. read more

My roommate got locked out of her room one night and we both tried in vain to unlock the door. We watched clips on YouTube on how to pick a lock! We tried a wire hanger, knife, credit card ,and bobby pins but to no avail. We gave up and she called a locksmith. The operator quoted her $35 just for the service guy to come to the house and a starting rate of $29. The fees would go up depending on the type of lock and the difficulty. Well, the guy showed up almost an hour later and he unlocked her door in less than 30 seconds. The charge: $100!! How does the rate jump from $29 to $65?! She didn't have a choice though. It was already 10pm and she needed to get into her room. But, seriously what a rip off!! Well, we both learned that we would make terrible burglars! read more

Alex has been here for at least ten years. Had an old car key duplicated for $4. While that is a tad more, (I can get it for less at other locksmiths, and much less at walmart), he does a good job. His keys don't get get stuck like when I've duplicated them at other locksmiths and always move smoothly in the lock. If you're going to be sticking a key into a lock hundreds or thousands of times, it's probably worth sparing yourself the stress of extra exertion when you try to turn a key. To be fair, if you don't care about quality, and want a cheaper key you can take a chance going to another local place. However, Alex has experience. In the past I've had him replace a few older keys too, and the duplicated one would often be smoother than the worn one. That's why if I had a major problem with a lock I'd personally prefer this locksmith. After all, my family have also trusted his place all these years. One thing to note if you want to visit is that since he works alone, his shop can be closed at random times. Maybe there's a doorbell? Or perhaps you need to call first to make sure? I never figured that one out. read more

I got a house key duplicated for $1.50 and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I came in 15 minutes before closing (5:30pm) and was worried Alex would be too busy but he helped me right away.
