Welp. Another brewery with some of the best food I've found. Beer was good too but holy geez, the…read morefood! BEER: I went with "The Vast Skies" which is described as a "hoppy amber ale". Coming from someone who loves a hoppy IPA and an amber, they combined my two worlds into one. So, it was a natural easy love. For my next, I went with their "Blinky's Black IPA" which was good but got more a weak porter feel than IPA. Like I said, it was good and I'd drink it again but with that expectation. FOOD: I went with an olive burger with be try fresh and real ingredients. The burger itself was full of flavor; add the rest of it and it was phenomenal. If I had to complain about something, I could have used a touch more olive sauce. Now the egg roll... I went with the "Guava the Hutt". I'll just say, I ordered two to go in hopes I can resurrect them in the air fryer later. The back half of the building is a pickleball area and the front half is the brewery and restaurant. Very cool look as they have a few shipping containers as sitting areas. Plenty of seating where I didn't feel jammed in. Also, a few arcade games. The service was friendly but know that it is minimal as you will order from the QR code at your table and order drinks at the bar. Definitely worth checking out and plan on returning.

One of our neighbors raved about Sheppard's and "the best potato chips around," so we tried it. It…read morewas a Friday and the place was nearly full, but we got a table right away. My partner ordered the perch dinner, which included a side salad for $25. The salad was sent back because it was sad. Some of the iceberg lettuce was discolored but the single piece of tomato was bright. The salad was exchanged for coleslaw. I ordered the fish and chips for $19 and a margarita for $9. Both fish dinners were soft, not crispy as expected. Same with the fries. All the food was warm but not hot. The margarita was like the ready-to-drink that you get at the grocery store (quite sweet). I'm glad we tried this place because it finally satisfied our curiosity. The potato chips were damn good.

The menu in the entrance features Rueben soup- a cup or a bowl. No price! Wait until you get the bill --$8.50 a CUP ! Thankfully, we didn't each order a Bowl! The soup was mediocre at best. After questioning the price, our Waitperson assured us that the bowl was chuck-full of Corned Beef, as if that alone justified the price! (And what else goes into Rueben soup?) The $4.00 split charge for plates will not entice diners to rush back! We split the wet burrito. The portion size would justify that added cost, but not in this case! I do have to give them a "thumbs up" on the drinks; but the price points on the rest of the menu are certainly not appealing!

I had heard that this place had good food, but because the price point was a bit higher than average, I wanted to try it for myself before bringing my family. The service was attentive and friendly. The food, however, did not meet expectations. I found the deviled eggs to be overcooked and a bit rubbery while simultaneously lacking flavor. The presentation was nice but I care more about the taste than how it looks. The Tavern Smash Burger does not seem to know what it wants to be. The patties were thicker than a traditional smash burger, lacking the juiciness of a regular burger while also missing the caramelization of your typical smash patty. The accompanying "Chef's Sauce" for the burger was not particularly flavorful and there was not enough acidic content to counter the fattiness of the burger. The bacon that topped the burger was cubed pieces that were chewy and frankly off-putting, and I found myself wishing for crispy bacon strips instead. All in all, I really wanted to love this place, but I just don't. The food wasn't terrible, but also nowhere near good enough to justify the cost or make me want to stop back in.

It was pretty full, but they had a few extra tables for any walk-ins. The menu has a huge variety of food so you'll find something for everyone. They also have some great meal deal specials that include a drink, entree and dessert. The highlight of the night though was our server, Emalee. She was probably one of the most attentive servers I've ever had at a restaurant. She's extremely friendly and you can tell she is hustling to make sure her tables are well taken care of. My wife and I actually started joking that our table had a microphone, or she could read our minds, because every time we needed something she was already on top of it. Even to the point that I dropped my napkin and she delivered a new napkin roll without me even seeing it. I was as if it appeared out of nowhere. We had a wonderful time at BJs and will definitely be back.
