I truly cannot say enough amazing things about Alessandro Pet Spa! Blanco and Luna always come home looking absolutely PERFECT -- clean, fluffy, beautifully groomed, and smelling amazing. But what really makes this place so special to me is how incredible he is with Blanco. Blanco has a very sensitive trachea, so I'm extremely careful and honestly very particular about who I trust to handle and groom him. He is always so gentle, patient, attentive, and careful with Blanco, and that gives me such peace of mind. He understands that Blanco needs a little extra care and never makes me feel like it's an inconvenience. Knowing that someone is taking his condition seriously and treating him like their own means more to me than I can explain. He's equally wonderful with Luna, and you can genuinely tell how much care and pride goes into every groom. They always come back looking like two perfect little Pomeranian show dogs Their faces are adorable, their coats are so fluffy, and every little detail looks beautiful. Finding a groomer who does amazing work is one thing, but finding someone you completely trust with your babies -- especially one who needs extra care -- is priceless. I'm so grateful we found Alessandro Pet Spa, and I honestly wouldn't trust Blanco and Luna with anyone else. 1000% recommend! read more

A really lovely experience all around: Alessandro went out of his way to squeeze my dog in despite a packed schedule, his staff is really kind, the environment is really low-stress, and by the end of it my handsome boy was even handsomer. Bonus points: the location is great with lots of good options nearby to spend the time while your doggo is being cared for. I had an excellent matcha latte and read a book (this is a lie, I just doomscrolled) at Flowin Cafe on the corner. read more

Alessandro's grooming service was incredible. From calling for the first consult all the way to the time i got him, the customer service from him and his team was amazing. Obviously getting a cat groomed is no easy task, but I am so happy with how my cat's lion cut turned out. I believe my cat was treated with patience and with a gentle touch for his bath and his grooming service. It's really hard to find GOOD cat groomers who know how to handle cats and also give a cute cut! I am so happy with the services I will 10000% be bringing my cat in as a regular customer! I have a long haired cat so the whole process took about 3.5-4 hours as expected. Plenty of street parking on melrose. Also so many cute things in the shop! I was also gifted a cute cat toy when we were done. Highly recommend! read more

Alessandro takes great care of my geriatric Golden girl. It is a small and calm shop. The staff is always kind and it's always the same people which I feel says a lot for the way the owner treats not only them but your pets. Fair pricing. Would definitely recommend. read more

I am beyond pleased with the work and how well groomed Duke is when we visit this establishment. Very clean and professional workers as well. Duke looked the best he has ever looked on our 1st trip here and I only bring him here now. I was genuinely shocked and impressed at how good Duke looked. I've had other places do lack luster jobs on Duke for his grooming. Even knicking him with clippers or telling me they finished with him after 1 hour and he is still damp. But at Alessandro's your pet will look AMAZING when you pick them up. As you can tell from the picture Duke has a job interview lol. Not to mention it is on Melrose so there are plenty of shops and restaurants including my favorite right next door to them (Lala's Argentinian Grill) Thank you Alessandro and his team for always doing an amazing job and taking your time. read more

We have been looking for a good groomer for our dog and we found Alessandro's through Yelp. We decided to give it a shot and we're so glad we did! We called to make an appointment and the girl on the phone was so lovely and easy to talk to. She asked about any health issues and we mentioned that he had a sensitive trachea. When we came in to drop him off, we filled out some additional info and were happy to see they actually wrote down his trachea problem from our phone call. They really seem to care about the dogs they groom! The interior was clean and well taken care of. This location is on Melrose, so there is lots of street parking and shopping nearby. Our doggie took 3 hours and he seems to have had a positive experience. He was anxious when we dropped him off, but was in a good mood when we came to get him. We were also given a cute little toy to take home. Overall, great experience and we will be back read more

I've been taking my two dogs to Alessandro Pet Spa on Melrose for close to a year now, and this review is long overdue. Alessandro and his entire staff are absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, everyone is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to both pets and their owners. It's clear that they truly care about the animals they work with. My dogs always come home looking fantastic after their grooming appointments. The team consistently does an excellent job, paying attention to the details while making sure my dogs are comfortable throughout the process. It's such a relief to have a groomer I can completely trust. Finding people who are skilled, reliable, and kind can be difficult, but Alessandro Pet Spa checks all the boxes. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality grooming services and exceptional customer care. Thank you, Alessandro and team, for taking such great care of my pups! read more

I have been bringing my dog to Alessandro for about a year now and every time I pick him up I am so impressed and pleased! My dog is not the easiest to groom as he can get a little feisty. But Alessandro is so cordial and sweet and knows how to handle his little attitude. Lando always looks amazing when he is done! I highly recommend this pet spa! read more

Brought my 19-year-old Pomeranian here today. Alessandro has been cutting him for the last 4-5 years, and does the best job in LA. Even for a super senior dog, he manages to make his fur look like puppies fur and can even do the teddy bear cut to perfection. I come all the way from Brentwood just to go to him, and it's well worth the drive. He's also very gentle with my boy considering how elderly he is. Thank you for taking such great care of my baby and making him look like he's 19 going on 9 mths. :) read more

I brought my dog in for a nail trim about a week ago. The trim itself was good: it was quick, my dog stayed relaxed, and most nails looked well done (though a few were splintering and could've been filed). Unfortunately, the customer service needs improvement. I called ahead and was told nail trims cost $15-$20, and I also saw a $10-off promotion on Yelp. When I arrived and asked to use the discount, I was first quoted $35 ($25 with the discount). After questioning this, another employee confirmed my original information: nail trims are $15-$20. However, she added that the discount only applies to grooming, which was not clearly stated in the ad. I was ultimately charged $20 for a 5-minute trim on a small dog. The lack of transparency was off-putting. Why wasn't I charged $15 given how quick and easy the service was (5min and small dog), and why was I initially quoted a higher price once I mentioned the discount? I was also not asked any questions about my dog, and a strongly perfumed product was used without my consent. My dog's fur smelled heavily perfumed for two days. While the scent itself was pleasant, this is something owners should be asked about beforehand. Dogs have extremely sensitive noses, and I would not have chosen this for my dog. read more

Alessandro is the perfect groomer for my baby girl. She was looking kind of raggedy when I brought her in and he explained what we could do during a brief consultation and also made some very valuable suggestions! I loved his demeanor and the vibe of the shop. I called on a Thursday to get an appointment and was given an opening on Friday afternoon by Loree, who was also really friendly and helpful! In a city where dog groomers change jobs every five minutes it's comforting to know that we can come back here and get the same expert service again and again. My baby has a fresh summer cut, and there are a lot of extras included in the price. We will definitely be back! read more

I can't say enough good things about Alessandro and his staff. I brought my 3 cats in with fairly short notice and he was wonderful, so professional, and my cats came away happy and so, so clean. This is a wonderful place where you can trust your fur babies to be safe and cared for (and clean). They've all been so proud of their clean, fluffy coats. I will be back again! We had the best experience at Alessandro Pet Spa! You could tell they really love and care for each furry friend. They're very attentive and communicative. They asked about styles, preferences, and any health or other relevant issues. I appreciated how easy it was to book the appointment, and they called to give me a heads up about when to expect pick-up. The grooming itself went really well, and our little senior pup came out looking very relaxed and handsome. One other bonus - the location is close to lots of great cafes and coffee shops, so it was convenient finding a spot to wait. read more

ALESSANDRO IS A DOG GROOMING LEGEND! If you're looking for the Michelangelo of dog grooming, look no further -- Alessandro is IT! I have never trusted anyone more with my fur baby, and I can honestly say: he's the BEST groomer I've ever had. Hands down. Paws up. Every time I bring my pup in, I know we're in the care of someone who's not only incredibly skilled and gentle, but truly loves what he does. He treats every dog like royalty, with patience, kindness, and a magic touch that turns scruffy into stunning. ‍ My dog walks out looking like they're heading to a Vogue cover shoot, smelling divine, and wagging their tail like they just had the best day of their life (because they did). Alessandro's attention to detail, his calm energy, and his ability to make grooming stress-free is just... chef's kiss. I'm beyond grateful to have found him -- and so is my dog. My girlfriend and I got our Golden Doodle puppy, Autumn, in December 2024. Even before bringing her home, we had a clear vision of the look and style we wanted for her coat. We tried a few different groomers, but none quite nailed the look we were going for--until we found Alessandro Pet Spa! After showing him a few reference images, he didn't just match our expectations--he exceeded them. Autumn came out looking even better than the pictures we provided! Before Memorial Day weekend Alessandro welcomed my dog Sebastian as a new client. He confirmed that everything was up to date medically and invited me to come over right away. My dog LOVED his experience of getting a summer cut and I felt blessed to have met such a beautiful soul in Alessandro. He was so calm, reassuring, detail oriented. Later I learned he was dealing with a crisis within the business as his credit card machine wasn't working however that stress in no way impacted his interaction with me. I complimented him on his disposition and only then is when he told me he was pretending and was actually super stressed out . Imagine carrying the aura of an angel and taking care of so many people and animals even when you're stressed?! His capacity for excellence is so high! It was amazing and gave me chills. I felt prioritized, cared for, Sebastian was pampered....even typing this review makes me joyfully emotional. There's a human touch that's becoming more and more rare and this grooming studio has it! Highly highly highly recommend. Ten thousand out of ten stars. read more

I have two Sphynxes which I brought in for grooming yesterday. Unfortunately today their skin is showing signs of what I expect is over-grooming with rawness on my girl's face, especially around her eyes, and scrapes with peeling skin on both. I was notified after grooming this was this location's first time with Sphynxes. They both still had tons of sebum in their ears and nail beds which is a sign of lack of knowledge of the breed too. They are very nice and did provide me with information on what they used on my cats. We will be going to the vet because this is unacceptable to do to an animal. I'm sure they are very knowledge with standard breeds of cats and dogs, but unfortunately we will not be back. Giving two stars instead of one for how clean and serene the location is and for teeth brushing being included which is great. read more

I've came here a couple of times. They usually do a great job, the prices vary but last time I was here they cut my dogs ear (brown Merle) so bad I had taken her to the vet and they themselves said the scab that size would be from a good amount of skin being cut off. I came here once more assuming she may have just moved because she is very skittish and almost never cries out when she's hurt so it's not obvious. But this is the second time when the next day, a huge scab forms. It's not just one ear this time, it's both. Not only her, but my other dog (black and white) came home with cut ears too, she has a huge scab as well.. *the day she came home she whined when I touched her ear but I wasn't able to see/feel anything because of her hair covering... but now she's grown a scab too so now I know she got nipped too. Just be cautious of bringing your pets here if they have matting, they should do a good job if you continuously keep up with the brushing. Overall, I won't be coming back. read more

Alessandro and his team are always so patient with my anxious dog. I'm so glad I started coming here! I also really love that they have a play area at the new location so the dogs don't have to wait in a cage to be picked up. Alessandro and his staff are also very nice people. Huge shoutout to Alessandro Pet Spa -- especially MAGLEN! We brought our 10-month-old Goldendoodle, Lucky, in with severe matting, and almost every groomer we spoke to said he would need to be completely shaved. Alessandro and his team truly listened to our concerns and worked their magic. Not only were they able to carefully demat Lucky, but they also gave him a beautiful short haircut instead of shaving him down, which meant so much to us. You can immediately tell they genuinely love and care for every furry friend that comes through their doors. They were incredibly patient, attentive, and communicative throughout the process. They spent nearly 6 hours giving Lucky the care he needed and even stayed 15-20 minutes past closing time to finish his grooming properly -- that level of dedication is rare. They even sent him home with a toy! We are beyond grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and commitment. Lucky came out looking and feeling amazing, and we couldn't be happier.
