I couldn't be happier with the grooming! My toy poodle mix looks absolutely adorable and was treated with such care, attention to detail, and patience throughout the visit. The haircut, teeth cleaning, and ear cleaning was exactly what my pup needed, and it's clear they take pride in their work. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a groomer who truly cares about your concerns and the wellbeing of your precious animal. read more

An absolute disaster. These people think they are running a 5-star hotel on Rodeo Drive. Booking an appointment with them is harder than booking a hotel stay at the Four Seasons Hotel George V during Paris Fashion Week. Lincoln hung up on me and had a horrible attitude. Myself, my friends, family and colleagues will completely stop taking our babies for grooming here due to their arrogant attitude. Willing to pay $300 and they tell me they can't rebook me unless I am on a set schedule monthly? Please, do yourselves a favor and wake up, it's 2026. There are far other better Groomers out there willing to take our business. read more

Collar & Comb is by far one of our favorite spots not only to get groomed but to get coffee! My babies enjoy coming here Sam for a groom and Bernardo makes amazing recommendations on lattes and snacks! I tell all my friends in Palm Springs they need to reserve here when in LA! Your babies will be grateful! read more

I don't think incredible is a strong enough word to describe my experiences at Collar & Comb. Every time I have been there with my little puppy has somehow been even better than the time before. Every single person who works there is engaging and kind and clearly passionate about the work they are doing. And I'm sure that comes from the mission of the owner, whose story is touching and inspiring. This is not some cheap, random dog wash. It is so much more. When we are there we both feel good, which makes it worth every penny I spend. The care and attention my puppy receives is so personal and genuine. She is definitely in love with Sam, who has taken care of her every time we've been. He has taken her from a scared, tiny puppy to an excited, slightly bigger puppy in just a few visits! I do not work there or know anyone there personally. Just want to share my experience and we can't wait for our next visit! read more

Great first grooming experience for our Husky. Nice, clean, professional, and friendly place - definitely recommend.

Took my dog in for a bath and hair cut expecting the basic I usually get from other places ... but this place was so accommodating with their coffee bar and amazing and kind staff ... I was able to watch my dog get groomed and to he honest my dog is usually nervous but at Collar and Comb my dog was completely comfortable and looked amazing and SO clean with no stress with the groomer Sam. I will definitely be back!!! I'm proud to be apart of the Collar Club!! read more

Making the appointment was super easy and the guy on the phone was charming. He said that they don't even need to check pets shots or rabies certificates because they don't come into contact with other dogs. He also said the dogs would have their own personal soundproof room that would be sterilized. This all sounded so wonderful however it completely up selled my expectations. When I arrived there was no receptionist. The lobby had two dogs in it already. The groomer pooped her head out and apologized and said they were running behind. I made a very far drive to get there so I wish they had called and said they were an hour behind. Since there were so many dogs they didn't know where to put the one they had just finished. I even said that I would watch it. They put my dog in the glass room where he was then covered in other dogs hair. The room also smelled really badly of dog pee. I ended up holding my dog in the lobby until they were ready for him bc he was so anxious. The place was very understaffed and overbooked. Beth the groomer had not even gotten any breaks. She was super busy having to check out each client and groom all the dogs. She really listened to what you wanted and made sure you were happy with the results. Robert is super funny and easy to talk to. He really loves animals. He helped Beth get the dogs ready and helped with their cuts. We were there for 3 hours and my dog never even got water. He chugged water for the rest of the night. We both left stressed, hungry, and exhausted. read more

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE with Collar & Comb was being told by a guy on the phone how they handle grooms of champion dogs. And I was renting a private room with a grooming artist so it is inconsiderate if I were late. My regular groomer was closed for a few days and I just needed a bath for my dog ($54 was Collar and Comb's price online, great I will try it). They reiterated the late policy several times and took down my credit card to ensure they could charge me if I were late. If I was late 15 minutes I would be charged and need to reschedule. I came away with the impression that they were too serious of an organization for the simple bath I needed and I might not be a fit. They specialized in champions, older dogs, anxious dogs and special breeds. (I have a friendly maltese mutt 13 lbs) When my appointment came around I made sure to be on time!!! Properly threatened... When I walked in the place it was totally empty - I was the only patron, though there were three or four employees. The shop is very cool -- a remarkable dog-park-meets-coffee shop covered in faux grass with lots of white metal park-style furniture. Even some seating was made of grass. A great little spot on as very busy corner of town. And very instagrammable, of course... (fyi) the traffic noises of the intersection might be intense for pups. This seemed very promising. I was told that they were running a couple minutes late... OK And since the dog was in a single room that was occupied I had to wait to drop my dog off with the artist. OK So I grabbed a cappuccino and donut which I got a discount because I was getting a service. It was still about $10(?) Cappuccino was great, donut was stale and inedible like a prob behind a window OK A couple minutes turned into 20 mins, 30 mins, 40 mins, ...the better part of an hour. At that point you just feel like you're being lied to and strung along. WHATEVER. The groomer finally came for my dog. She seemed sweet. And I still felt like I was putting them out because of the simple bath request -- but this was all clearly unprofessional -- yet everybody is allowed to have an off day, right? They asked me if I was going to stay hang out in the cafe to wait for the dog to get finished. (?!?!) Honestly, they have already wasted enough of my time handing the dog off....I had stuff to do. I got a call shortly afterward that my dog was almost ready. (this was in less time than i had waited) I was expecting that they felt pretty bad about the waiting around situation and were probably going to offer me a discount or some kind of gesture for how unprofessional everything was, after all, this was my very first experience as a new client, etc. And they are so strict about time, right? When I was presented with the "BATH ONLY" bill it was not $54, it was $154. From their perspective my dog requires extra fees? Specialty breed (OK) senior (upcharge!) anxious (upcharge!) Maybe there was a blowdrying upcarge? (by the way, I have a very friendly, gregarious dog that the other groomer said he wishes he could groom her "all day" because she's so easy compared to his other clients.) FYI COLLAR & COMB SAY ONLINE: "Prices are based on your pet's weight and breed. Every bath includes a full spa treatment: Anal gland expression Hypoallergenic shampoo and conditioner Paw pad moisturizer Hot spot treatment (if needed) Warm-air, pressure-controlled blowout -- by hand" "Handling fees are billed at $20 every 15 minutes. Examples of when a handling fee might apply: Pets that are especially anxious, reactive, or aggressive Geriatric pets that require additional physical support Dogs with mobility issues, open wounds, or medical equipment Pets that are unaccustomed to grooming and need frequent breaks Situations requiring two staff members for safety or restraint" I just wanted to get this all over with. It was supposed to be a simple bath. The groomer said "So, next time we'll do the full groom..." Um, no. I can't afford that in several many ways. read more

I'm not someone who ever leaves negative reviews. I usually give a lot of benefit of the doubt, which is why this experience stood out enough for me to write one. My experience with Paul was disappointing from start to finish. During the initial phone call, his jokes came off as unprofessional and not particularly funny, and he went on long rants about services and add ons that felt more like upselling than genuine explanation. Basic things like toe hair trimming and nail clipping were presented as add-ons with separate charges, which felt excessive. Many groomers include these basics or offer a straightforward add on structure rather than itemizing everything. Regarding pricing, my partner was verbally quoted $164, and I was told I would receive a text confirmation of that price. I never received that text. When I arrived to pick up our dog, the total was $190, with no prior notice or explanation for the increase. We were told to expect our dog to be ready in about an hour to an hour and a half, yet they were finished in roughly 45 minutes. Given how quickly it was done, the results were underwhelming. Our dog looked like he mostly received a bath with very minimal trimming. The toenails were clipped but not smoothed, and our dog was still damp at pickup. Paul showed me a long list of services he said were performed, but visually none of it was noticeable. Overall, the service felt rushed, unfocused, and not reflective of the price charged. Unfortunately, this was not a positive experience, and I will not be returning. read more

Disgusting customer service. PAUL cursed me out over the phone and hung up on me while I was trying to explain the reason I canceled my appointment. He was upset that I canceled last minute, which I did not. I called a month prior to cancel ALL future appointments. He proceeded to call me a liar and asked why i waited until the last day to cancel. So like I stated I had no idea I had an appointment bc I CANCELED ALL APPOINTMENTS a month prior. I received a text on Sunday to remind me about an appointment I had coming up, I tried to call to cancel but says they're closed on Sunday and Monday. So I called today right when they opened to let them know. He was so disgusting and wants to charge me for a no show giving me no room to explain. Don't bring your dogs here they also over charge for the dumbest things. read more

Great cold brew and friendly service and beautiful venue! Excited about all the events coming up here

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Truly disappointing experience from the owner of this grooming service. On June 18th, I brought my cat in, Ghost, for the spa service for the first time. He's a long-haired cat who gets dingleberries, and I needed his hindquarters to be cleaned up specifically to get fecal matter out. My cat wouldn't let me go near this area, so I decided to go to groomers and this place is less than a mile away. I drop him off and a half-hour later, they called me to pick up Ghost up, saying he wouldn't get in the water. They were only able to trim him a little around the face, his bum, and cut his nails. But they charged me $200 for this. I was traveling the next day and didn't have time to handle any back and forth, so reached out once I was back home the following week. I contacted the manager of the salon via text at first (as that how she communicated with me to confirm the appointment) and told her what happened. I didn't want to leave a bad review. I wanted to figure out a solution and give the benefit of a doubt so they could make things right. A day passed, I didn't hear back, so I called. I got her on the phone and she told me to bring Ghost back in, given the circumstances and this time it would be free of charge. I dropped Ghost off again. They called me 15 minutes later so they were done with the service. I was CONFUSED. What service. Apparently, they only trimmed his hindquarters and did not do any spa services to clean up otherwise. This time I texted again just asking for a refund of a little over one-hundred dollars. I cited the menu charge on the website was around $50-60 for a trim and nails (depending on the cat's size). I was charged for services I didn't get, so I wanted a partial refund. The tip I was OK with still be included in the charge, as the poor person rendering the grooming services herself had nothing to do with this. I sent the text and immediately got a phone call. I explained the situation over the phone. She tried to back-track and say that initially Ghost did get spa services and they were just unable to blow dry Ghost. Y'all... what??? That means they would have given me back a wet cat. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. I told her this twice, that Ghost did not get in the water at all, which was communicated to be by the grooming team. The woman then said she was get back to me by end of day or at the latest, the very next day, once she looked into this further and talked to the concierge who was staffed that day. Days pass and I don't hear anything. Radio silence, so I decide to file a dispute for the 100+ dollars on my AMEX. I was over it. I then get two phone calls back to back while I'm in a work meeting. It's the owner of the salon. He asks upfront why did I file a dispute with my credit card. I said hey, I've been trying to reach you guys for the past month. I was told I was going to hear back and didn't. I was charged this amount, here's the price your menu listed. He then, with hostility told me I was charged $200 for a nail trim and hair trim because that's how much it costs to book the room. He then told me to "'Go "F**K* myself...' and that this conversation was recorded and he's going to fight the dispute." He hung up before I could say anything else. What a terrible way to do business. I cannot recommend this place at all! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Ive been here total 2 times. First time was OK, maybe because I did not have to deal with the owner, Paul at all. 2nd time was today, and it was AWFUL. He is SO rude, unapologetic, arrogant, and lacks compassion and empathy for customers/pups. All he cares about is his ego, pride, and money. I understand he may be the owner, but he should not be client facing. The company itself is OK, as long as Paul does not pick up the phone or he does not interact with customers. He does not know how to speak to customers with empathy, and quickly gets dismissive. Just genuinely not a nice person and a horrible business owner. Prior to this visit today, I called to inquire about an appointment few times and every time Paul answered the phone, I never had a great experience. He would be really pushy and try to convince me to get the "membership". He said only members are able to book service at their Sunset or La Brea location, and tried to get me to sign up for membership without fully explaining it. He sounded unfriendly, arrogant, robotic, like a tacky used car salesperson. Couple weeks ago, I thought I would give it another try, and called again. Another guy picked up, and he was very friendly and was able to help me book an appt on the date and time I wanted at the La Brea location. No pushy sales tactics. When I was dropping off my dog, I asked for the same service as last time, specialty grooming + teeth cleaning. Paul tried so hard to convince me to get add-ons for hand nail filing saying my dog's nails are too "overgrown" and for the "safety", he recommends adding on nail hand filing. This was weird to me, because I never had any issues like this before when I brought her in last time, and never had similar experiences elsewhere. So I politely declined and just asked them to be careful with her nails, as Paul was keep threatening me saying that "mechanical nail clipping" (service included with the specialty grooming) is not safe for "overgrown nails"... so bizarre; and I got worried and again let him know to please just be careful. Then he made me sign a waiver and mentioned ONCE AGAIN "this is waiver you are acknowledging everything we just discussed, including the danger of mechanical nail clipping" This comment was sitting weird with me the whole time. I feel like he really tried to "sell" this add-on service, but because I declined, he threatened me that my dog will get hurt and I am OK with it. After I dropped off my dog, I was worried sick the whole time.. What owner wants to feel like this after dropping off their furbaby to a "luxury dog spa"? When it was time for me to pick her up, initially I was happy to see my pup looking cute. I got her, and was about to pay, and Paul started doing his sales pitch again and told me that they did complimentary hand nail filing "this one time just for safety", but next time they would deny the service if i don't do the add-on service. I thank him, and got my credit card out to pay. Then I noticed there was blood dripping on the floor, and all over me. When I flagged this to Paul, he grabbed my pup and went to get her paw checked and started saying "this is what I told you and tried to prevent from happening!!" And used towel to wipe the blood and stop the bleeding. The bleeding was not stopping. He tried to look for first aid quick stop but he was unable to find it and just used a cotton ball to press on the bleeding nail. What kind of "luxury groomer" does not even have first-aid? Her nail was obviously clipped too short, and she was bleeding nonstop with no first-aid. I was furious because if he really tried to "be careful" and use complimentary hand filing like he said he did, why is my dog bleeding profusely? What a liar and scammer. I was disgusted by his condescending answer and his unapologetic attitude. I did not appreciate the way he was speaking to me, and instead, BLAMED ME and gaslighted me. I was over his attitude and just told him I would like to leave, and I will never want to return to this place. Then Paul just answered with sassy attitude, "you are actually banned because of your unrealistic expectations". Im sorry, but is it unrealistic expectation for my dog to NOT GET HURT during grooming? I came to my car which was parked right in front of the store to call a vet for emergency visit. Paul came out and had to passive aggressively put the "report card" with condescending comments written on it. This really shows what type of person Paul is, and what kind of business he is running. Overpriced, NOT SAFE, and most importantly, they do not care about your dogs or how you would feel as a customer. When I took my bleeding dog to the vet, they confirmed that this was 100% inexperienced groomer's negligence of cutting the nails TOO SHORT. When I told them the "overgrown nails" and "mechanical nail clipping" theory Paul was explaining to me, they laughed and said no, this is 100% the groomer's fault. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff! Super clean establishment and they were very gentle with my dog :)

just left my first grooming appt and it was amazing. Sam was so gentle and attentive with my anxious pup - within the first few min of the session, my dog was calm and just looking at him work. Anxiety gone! I loved that they catered for an anxious pet parent like me and not only is the facility beautiful with an enclosed garden area and cafe but i also could watch my dog's 1:1 grooming session from the window and was there whenever he looked for me. When the appt was over he came out calm, smiling and clean with a scarf on. Additionally Paul the owner was so knowledgeable about the needs of the dogs but also really warm and welcoming. Looking forward to my next appt and bringing a friend to sip champagne or coffee while we wait for my pup to get cleaned. read more

Beware of Hidden Fees! I took my medium-sized Aussie Doodle here expecting to pay $139, but the final bill was shockingly higher. They tacked on an extra $30 for "dematting," another $20 for "handling," and--just to top it off--an additional $40 for a spa treatment I never requested. While I can appreciate a cool vibe and a clean, glitzy environment, this level of price gouging is absurd. If you decide to bring your pet here, double-check every charge because they seem to add fees at will. Definitely not a transparent or honest experience. read more

The facility itself is set up very nice & there's a little backyard area where the dogs hang before and after the groom. The dogs love it here! Milo usually hates going to the groomers, but not this place!! To be fair, Ken also gives him a treat at the end of the groom, go figure, this is how they win dogs over! After visiting and speaking with the owner it was hard to find the price of this place just for a bath! He texted $9005.75 but finally gave me a price $65 which included a handling fee of $30 why no clue but I figured it out let your dog watch you play with other dogs while your dog gets a bath wants to be with you no wonder it took 2 1/2 hours. Tons of time talking about the owner his life the $60,000 for the street the Cartier necklace for his dog congrats on that! He wanted to sell me everything didn't care about my kid! Mind you I'm looking for a place to get my kid groomed a place I can trust but not here! I was charged a dematting fee which makes me wonder as I told the owner my dog was almost skinned from a previous groomer so where was the matting?!? I brush my pup every night including her teeth! I didn't find any Nat's but was told oh there was 1 little mat around the underarm so buy a leather harness instead I was told. I was overwhelmed by all that was going on so I paid. I mentioned a few days later why the dematting fee well the owner said let me ask the groomer!?! Then I was told well it took awhile for your kid to get groomed! I phoned to inquiry about my two dogs getting groomed at this location because I noticed the good reviews but it didn't match my experience over the phone with a man named Paul. I have a pity mix and pomchi and they needed nails and the works. I was willing to go out to the way since downtownLA doesn't have any grooming facilities other than a Petco self service most have gone out of business. This upset me so much how I was spoken to as a first time customer he was so rude and disrespectful to me I felt scared to even bother to come in at this point. If this is how he acts over the phone I wouldn't trust this person around my beloved fur babies. I don't understand why someone would get so heated over questions on price and services like a time bomb ticking ready to explode. Especially for a first time customer who would've been a regular once a month. I wouldn't recommend this place first impressions are everything to me. I also decided to scroll down to the other reviews it bothered me so much.. and I saw others were treated disrespectful as well. So I'm feeling confident in this review. read more

Literally could not recommend a grooming salon more. Collar & Comb is a gift to the pups & pup parents of LA. The staff offer the utmost care, every pup gets 1 on 1 attention, and the pricing is fair considering the quality of service. Bonus: Complimentary hard seltzers/beers. The best part of all is my dog Marly shows no resistance when I drop him off (he typically starts shaking when we pull up at our previous groomers). The proof is in the pudding, this team is A-1 and all other pet care establishments could stand to take a page out of C&C's book. So grateful this place exists! read more
