Cat grooming

Had a very bespoke and catered to experience at Collar & Comb. They took great care of my cat Domino and thought the space was very cool, transparent windows let you look in at your animal getting groomed and the space also includes a coffee shop where you can hang and wait for your animal!

This is Titi (dog) here! This place is brand new, open late, and basically a Disneyland for dogs and their parents! I visited here because I needed a last minute manicure for tomorrow's film shoot. It was such a fantastic experience, VIP treatment, and so much love! I definitely recommend!! The staff here are all extra sweetest too!

Brought my foster dog here and they took amazing care of him! He was heavily matted and definitely in need of some pampering. Paul & Lincoln happily guided us through the process and was very transparent throughout it all. I am very happy with the results! Thanks for taking great care of Juju. We will be back again!!

My dog Butters giving me a double high-five!

Truly outstanding customer service from every member of the staff. Dedicated, knowledgeable, caring individuals. And easily the most thorough and handsome grooming my dog has gotten to date! The photo is him giving me a double high five because he's feeling so fresh and clean!

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE with Collar & Comb was being told by a guy on the phone how they handle grooms of champion dogs. And I was renting a private room with a grooming artist so it is inconsiderate if I were late. My regular groomer was closed for a few days and I just needed a bath for my dog ($54 was Collar and Comb's price online, great I will try it). They reiterated the late policy several times and took down my credit card to ensure they could charge me if I were late. If I was late 15 minutes I would be charged and need to reschedule. I came away with the impression that they were too serious of an organization for the simple bath I needed and I might not be a fit. They specialized in champions, older dogs, anxious dogs and special breeds. (I have a friendly maltese mutt 13 lbs) When my appointment came around I made sure to be on time!!! Properly threatened... When I walked in the place it was totally empty - I was the only patron, though there were three or four employees. The shop is very cool -- a remarkable dog-park-meets-coffee shop covered in faux grass with lots of white metal park-style furniture. Even some seating was made of grass. A great little spot on as very busy corner of town. And very instagrammable, of course... (fyi) the traffic noises of the intersection might be intense for pups. This seemed very promising. I was told that they were running a couple minutes late... OK And since the dog was in a single room that was occupied I had to wait to drop my dog off with the artist. OK So I grabbed a cappuccino and donut which I got a discount because I was getting a service. It was still about $10(?) Cappuccino was great, donut was stale and inedible like a prob behind a window OK A couple minutes turned into 20 mins, 30 mins, 40 mins, ...the better part of an hour. At that point you just feel like you're being lied to and strung along. WHATEVER. The groomer finally came for my dog. She seemed sweet. And I still felt like I was putting them out because of the simple bath request -- but this was all clearly unprofessional -- yet everybody is allowed to have an off day, right? They asked me if I was going to stay hang out in the cafe to wait for the dog to get finished. (?!?!) Honestly, they have already wasted enough of my time handing the dog off....I had stuff to do. I got a call shortly afterward that my dog was almost ready. (this was in less time than i had waited) I was expecting that they felt pretty bad about the waiting around situation and were probably going to offer me a discount or some kind of gesture for how unprofessional everything was, after all, this was my very first experience as a new client, etc. And they are so strict about time, right? When I was presented with the "BATH ONLY" bill it was not $54, it was $154. From their perspective my dog requires extra fees? Specialty breed (OK) senior (upcharge!) anxious (upcharge!) Maybe there was a blowdrying upcarge? (by the way, I have a very friendly, gregarious dog that the other groomer said he wishes he could groom her "all day" because she's so easy compared to his other clients.) FYI COLLAR & COMB SAY ONLINE: "Prices are based on your pet's weight and breed. Every bath includes a full spa treatment: Anal gland expression Hypoallergenic shampoo and conditioner Paw pad moisturizer Hot spot treatment (if needed) Warm-air, pressure-controlled blowout -- by hand" "Handling fees are billed at $20 every 15 minutes. Examples of when a handling fee might apply: Pets that are especially anxious, reactive, or aggressive Geriatric pets that require additional physical support Dogs with mobility issues, open wounds, or medical equipment Pets that are unaccustomed to grooming and need frequent breaks Situations requiring two staff members for safety or restraint" I just wanted to get this all over with. It was supposed to be a simple bath. The groomer said "So, next time we'll do the full groom..." Um, no. I can't afford that in several many ways.

Disgusting customer service. PAUL cursed me out over the phone and hung up on me while I was trying to explain the reason I canceled my appointment. He was upset that I canceled last minute, which I did not. I called a month prior to cancel ALL future appointments. He proceeded to call me a liar and asked why i waited until the last day to cancel. So like I stated I had no idea I had an appointment bc I CANCELED ALL APPOINTMENTS a month prior. I received a text on Sunday to remind me about an appointment I had coming up, I tried to call to cancel but says they're closed on Sunday and Monday. So I called today right when they opened to let them know. He was so disgusting and wants to charge me for a no show giving me no room to explain. Don't bring your dogs here they also over charge for the dumbest things.

Bloody paw due to inexperienced groomer cutting the nail too short. No proper first aid / cleaning was offered

Ask the Community - Collar & Comb

How much is a bath and nails trimmed? I have a 30 lb miniature Aussie and a little 16 pound rescue mix!

What a cutie! Hello, based on the assumption that your pup is under 40lbs, you can expect to pay $65 for the basic full service bath. It will likely take 45 minutes to an 1.5 hours depending on your dogs temperment.

After his…read moreappointment, BOTH of his ears became severely infected, leaving him in obvious pain and discomfort. He has been walking around with his head tilted to the side, crying, and even snapping when anyone tries to touch near his ears because of how painful they are. Watching him suffer like this has been awful. I had to rush him to the vet at 9am and spend an additional $400 for treatment, medication, and care due to the severity of the infections. What makes this even more upsetting is learning that your groomers are trained to bathe dogs without using cotton balls in their ears. That seems incredibly counterproductive and unsafe, especially considering how easily water can get trapped and lead to ear infections. Louie has never experienced anything like this before, and it is heartbreaking seeing him in so much pain over something that should have been a routine grooming appointment. I also have videos showing the condition he was in afterward, including the head tilt and discomfort he's been experiencing. I expected professional and safe care for my dog, and instead I was left with a traumatized dog, a stressful emergency vet visit, and hundreds of dollars in unexpected medical bills. I truly hope management takes this seriously so no other dog has to go through this.

We called to make an appointment and the girl on the phone was so lovely and easy to talk to. She asked about any health issues and we mentioned that he had a sensitive trachea. When we came in to drop him off, we filled out some additional info and were happy to see they actually wrote down his trachea problem from our phone call. They really seem to care about the dogs they groom! The interior was clean and well taken care of. This location is on Melrose, so there is lots of street parking and shopping nearby. Our doggie took 3 hours and he seems to have had a positive experience. He was anxious when we dropped him off, but was in a good mood when we came to get him. We were also given a cute little toy to take home. Overall, great experience and we will be back

Duke looked the best he has ever looked on our 1st trip here and I only bring him here now. I was genuinely shocked and impressed at how good Duke looked. I've had other places do lack luster jobs on Duke for his grooming. Even knicking him with clippers or telling me they finished with him after 1 hour and he is still damp. But at Alessandro's your pet will look AMAZING when you pick them up. As you can tell from the picture Duke has a job interview lol. Not to mention it is on Melrose so there are plenty of shops and restaurants including my favorite right next door to them (Lala's Argentinian Grill) Thank you Alessandro and his team for always doing an amazing job and taking your time.

I've been a loyal customer for about 10 years now and I've enjoyed just about every bit of it…read more Until now. My cat pictured in my original review passed away a few years ago and after she passed I decided I was ready for a dog and along came Georgie. A goofy, fluffy, loyal Goldendoodle. His fur is on the curly side taking after his poodle genes. I've taken him to Posh for a bath and haircut several times and he's been to daycare many many times. I've never really had a bad experience. However, this most recent time was extremely disappointing and quite literally heartbreaking. I made an appointment for a haircut and bath + daycare. When I arrived I was greeted by their friendly staff as always then by Jeanine. She was pleasant and friendly but had all of these additional charges that she added on at the beginning of my service. I'll break it down below and explain. Mattes: my dog had mattes on his legs and body. I was aware and was prepared to pay the fee to take them out. Poodle feet: she said there was an additional fee to shave his feet? However at the end I didn't see any sign of poodle feet. Flea bath: because of the itching she recommended a flea bath, granted she did find 1 singular flea on him so that's fair. I also mentioned to her that he is on a flea medication. I check him regularly and have yet to find a flea. Shave fee?: additional charge to shave him I guess Cancellation fee: I live 2 hours away (recently moved out of the area) but wanted to stay loyal to Poshpetcare. Unfortunately I had made an appointment in March and had to reschedule for the following day within the 24hr window so they charged me a cancellation fee. I've never canceled within 24 hours and have been loyal to them For many years. This really hurt my feelings. I wouldn't cancel last minute and mess with someone's money. I simply rescheduled for the following day. They had lots of availability too so it's not like the appointment time was in high demand. When my dog came out he literally looked like a rat. His beautiful fur had been vandalized. It broke my heart and I just felt so bad. Like how could someone do this to him? If this was going to be the outcome they should've turned me away or shown me pictures of the absolute horror I was not prepared for. The poor front desk man knew how devastated I was. I got into my car and literally wanted to like blow up but I had to keep my cool bc I'm an adult lol. I've put two pictures below. One of his haircut done by Puppy Prom on 3rd and another by Poshpetcare. I go between the two businesses because Puppy prom isn't open on weekends and Posh is. I spent $300 for him to be shaved and given an uneven head haircut. I'm absolutely devastated. He's still the same happy pup but I just feel so bad that I did this to him. I highly recommend any Doodle owners take their pups to Puppy Prom on 3rd st. It's less than a mile away. Ask for David. He's the owner and will make your pup look like an absolute show dog. Also, everything is included in their flat rate. No "poodle feet" or "extra shampoo" fees. I've learned my lesson and do not plan to return to Poshpetcare. After spending over $12k in services over the years, my heart is broken. If you're a cat owner, I highly recommend Sabina at Poshpetcare. She's an absolute doll and takes exceptional care of your precious babies. Attention Doodle Owners!!! Puppy Prom

My dog's fur was unevenly trimmed and it looked like a rushed job, especially around the face, and he was left with severe razor burn around his genitals.
