    Mac n Cheese

Essentially, overpriced bar food. Nothing too exciting in terms of flavor, but the menu seemed enticing initially. Nice variety for a bar. I decided to try out a bunch of their items, including the My Girlfriend Isn't Hungry, boneless wings with ranch, and a cheeseburger with a side of Mac n cheese. The best part of this meal was by far the Mac n cheese. It was creamy and delicious. Noodles were cooked very well, and a perfect amount of sauce. Not too oily either, and a good portion. Really, this was the only truly great thing I tried. The boneless wings were more like chicken nuggets. Not bad quality, but I just didn't expect them to be like that. Cooked well, not that crunchy though. When I ordered it with ranch, I assumed that would be liquid ranch, but I suppose they actually just used ranch rub, or they forgot the ranch. Wouldn't really recommend. The chicken in the My Girlfriend Isn't Hungry is similar to the boneless wings, just in chicken tender form. Again, only OK. The fires were limp and not that flavorful. Not crunchy either. Left a lot to be desired. I was most disappointed with the burger. There was virtually no cheese on it, and it was completely plain. No sauce with it either. It was essentially an over cooked patty with 2 store bought buns with virtually no seasoning. Definitely would not recommend. All in all, I wouldn't recommend the food (if you're order sober). The best item was the Mac and cheese, and everything else fell flat. Won't be coming back.

    Nice sports bar!

Jillian's has done nothing but kick my dick in The food. The fried Brie. I don't think I need to say much. Just look at it. WHAT I WILL SAY is that little salad with it. The source of the veggies is unreal but that house dressing I would drink by the gallon I have not gone out for a steak in over 5 years. I eat it every day. Not something I crave. Their Cowboy Ribeye will have me never going out for steak again because that's the only one I'll ever want. PERFECT melt in your mouth cook seasoned to perfection The burger. This is what I was waiting to try for the longest time. It is simple and it is a fucking knockout. The homemade bread had a brilliant inside softness to crust ratio. The locally sourced meat was cooked perfect and you can taste the quality once it hits your tongue. THE SAUCE. I fucking hate dill. People use it so poorly and let it overpower things more often than not. This sauce was spectacular. The dill in it has never been used better for me and even got a side to dip those UNREAL duck fat fries THE STAR FOR US. THE DUCK FAT POTATOES. The amount you get is not only insane but I have never had a potato prepared so well before. The perfect crunch on ever bite over a pool of the duck fat. Unbelievable Jillian and Phill you have made the experience even more amazing. Jillian is out in the floor serving food and checking in on everyone with such great energy. She says what she wants and doesn't give a fuck. Phil is in the back whipping up some of the best quality meals you'll ever have with some of the best sourced ingredients around. Thank you two for bringing such a great spot and experiences to the Pittsburgh area. Eating here has made me feel like I'm inside your home. Also the waiting area is a beautiful touch

A Culinary Adventure I'll Never Forget (No Matter How Hard I Try)…read more Oh, where do I even begin with Tarentum Station? Actually, let me start by saying that if you've ever wondered what it's like to pay good money for a truly spectacular display of incompetence, this is your place. We walked in with such hope. Such naive, foolish hope. Twenty minutes later, we were still hoping... for our drinks. Yes, you read that right. Twenty minutes to get a beverage order taken. I can only assume our waitress was training for some kind of Olympic speed-walking event, because she was certainly rushing around the restaurant like her life depended on it. Attending to us? Not so much. She had the frantic energy of someone who'd had six espressos but the attention span of a goldfish. When the French onion soup finally arrived (and by "finally" I mean after we'd aged approximately seven years), I took one spoonful and immediately understood what dishwater must taste like. Not that I make a habit of sampling cleaning products, but now I don't have to. The kitchen at Tarentum Station has thoughtfully recreated the experience for me. I'm not sure what they did to that soup, but "onion" and "French" seemed like purely theoretical concepts in whatever that liquid was. Two hours. Let me repeat that. TWO HOURS for our entrees to arrive. I've had shorter dental procedures. At this point, we were so hungry we probably would have eaten the menus. When the food finally graced our table, it was cold. Ice cold. Room temperature if the room was a meat locker. We sent it back, naturally, because we're optimists. It returned... still cold. Apparently "reheat" means something different in their kitchen. Maybe they just waved it near the stove and hoped for the best? And the taste? Oh, the taste was the grand finale of this disaster symphony. If the temperature had been the only problem, we might have survived. But no, the food itself was aggressively bad. The kind of bad that makes you question whether the chef has ever actually eaten food before, or if they're just working from a vague description someone gave them once. The service was somehow even worse than the food, which is really saying something. Our waitress appeared to be everywhere and nowhere simultaneously, like some kind of unhelpful quantum particle. Do yourself a favor: if you're near Tarentum Station and you're hungry, keep driving. Order pizza. Make a sandwich. Forage for berries in the woods. Literally anything would be a better use of your time and money than eating here. Zero stars. Would give negative stars if possible.
