This seat material is horrible. Sweat is non-stop and fading is big time. Run don't walk from this crap.

So trusty Yelp gave me Tandy Leather and let's just say....wow. Who knew such a treasure of a place existed in Fremont Hub of all places. L O C A T I O N You can park on either side in the middle of Fremont Hub. If you're coming from the Staples side, just walk in the walk way towards the middle of the hub and it should be directly to the left before you go into the middle walkway. From the Dick's Sporting Goods/Five Below side, walk towards the middle walkway, turn left, walk a little, and you should see it to your right. Parking is shared all over the hub with other stores/restaurants. I found parking right in front of Dick's Sporting Goods. I N S I D E The smell of leather wafts in the air. You know it's real. They have many leather hide of different shades, sizes, types, etc. You're walking into a leather wonderland. Not only the items themselves, but what you can do with leather line the edges of the store. S E R V I C E These folks LOVE what they do and they love leather. They were warm and welcoming. Helping out when you need it but not pressuring you one way or another. They helped me out when trying to figure out how to stamp leather as well as what leather you can stamp on. You can try things to your hearts delight at least when trying out stamps. Checking out was really easy too though I don't think they had touchless payment as I had to pull out my card (maybe they did and I was just not paying attention). O V E R A L L If you ever need help with leather or doing something with leather or crafting with leather or fixing something leather, just come here. The folks here are quite knowledgeable and very excited about leather. It was definitely contagious! They do also hold some classes for leather crafting so go to their website to see what they offer. I'll have to try one of their beginners classes if they ever offer it. So glad we have this special store here. I'll definitely be back if I ever need to do more leather work!

Randall was amazing, it took a couple of weeks, price was not bad, very affordable. You need to pay up front and he gives you a ticket and to come back and pick it up. I came back and my boots are all fixed up and I am happy with the service. I will definitely come back for other shoe repairs and try the cleaning service for the shoes.

HIGH SCHOOL REUNION SHINE…read more When I went to the Men's Wearhouse to buy an attire for my high school reunion one of the sales associates recommended either a black dress shoe or casual shoe with my attire. I looked at the black casual shoe, which I preferred over the black dress shoe. I also liked the price. However I wasn't sure how often I would wear the black casual shoe. At home I had a pair of black dress shoe and black casual shoe. Instead of buying a pair of casual shoes from the Men's Wearhouse I brought these pairs to A-1 Shoe Repair for shoe shining. I went here about one week about my high school reunion. When I asked about my black Florsheim dress shoe if I can add a heel protector, Randall stated due to the condition of the heel he would need to insert a new heel that costs $15, which I didn't want to pay. I then asked him how much for a shoe shine for both pairs of shoes. He said $40, which is less than a pair of casual shoes I was interested at the Men's Wearhouse. I dropped off my pair of shoes. The day before the reunion I picked my two pairs of shoes. I liked the shine on both shoes. I think overall the shine on the Florsheim stood out more. I decided to wear the black Florsheim dress shoes for the reunion not because of the shine but I felt those shoes were more comfortable to wear than the black Nike casual shoes. Overall I'm glad I came to A-1 Shoe Repair for a shoe shine for my two pairs of shoes.

When working in the city I would sometimes drop them of at places there just for convenience but nothing as good as The Cobblers. Not only a shoe repair place but a store for boots, work boots, hats, coats etc. I even stock up on Shoe Goo here for my Merrill running shoes with the sole that can't be replaced but was told it would be more expensive if they did it so just get the Shoe Goo. This place has been around since the late 50's and run by the same family.  Shoe repair is an art that won't get taken over by AI. The only thing that will put a place like this out of business is disposable shoes and clothes.  We are not there yet for the nice stuff. So once again my partner needed heels on her boots and since nothing local it's of to Hayward. $20 up front and a few days later boots look as good as new. New heels and all polished up. So for the ladies not sure if ya'll in the clackety heel camp or the more cushie no clack camp, but they have both. My partner is in the clackety camp. You can get hear her coming on a tile floor a mile away. So not just heels but resoles and all types of repairs. There is free parking on the street and in the back. Go there, it'll be great.

They have excellent selection of shoes, western wear, leather, etc. Most importantly - they do repairs and even full rebuilds of shoes, boots, high heels, etc. I have a pair of duty boots for the fire department (Chippewa brand) that I purchased from them 20+yrs ago for the community college fire academy. After 15 or so years of daily wear and abuse, the Cobblers rebuilt them - and it was as if the boot were brand new!! I had a pull tab / loop tear off on my expensive ostrich skin western boots; they repaired it & it looked brand new. They are also INCREDIBLY skilled at re-soling shoes & boots. I have another pair of western boots, that I wear for outdoor activities; hunting, fishing, camping. Not only did they rebuild them to like-new, they installed an "aggressive" sole, so now I have a pair of western slip-on cowboy boots, which have a pair of hiking style off-road soles!! They work absolute magic at this place! Particularly for your leather shoes / boots, don't throw them away... Take them to the cobblers, they'll make them as if they're brand new!!

Whatever product they used or method they used it changed the color of the leather. It made them way darker in certain part of the boot very inconsistent. You can see in the pictures the different shades in the leather. It gives the impression that only one part of the boot was cleaned. I wish they would have giving me a quick run down of what they were going to do to the boots. Not cool walking around with half tan half brown boots. They charged $35 for this color scheme. They messed up my Thorogood boots. Not a cheap boot. I don't recommend this place. There another Cobbler in town that did my other work boots for half the price and they didn't change the color on the leather. STAY AWAY.
