We have been here on more than one occasion. Service is efficient, but not necessarily friendly. The shop is fairly priced and very conveniently located. After having recently given them a lot business with 5-6 watches (batteries, bands), we revisited with a very simple pin reset and the lady fixed it in less than 3 minutes free of charge. Went to get my GShock watch fixed and the battery changed. Came out to about $24 and was a very quick fix! I just waited around and the owner was done in around 10min. Small stand in the middle of the mall, in front of the Disney store. The entrance I usually use is the Macy's 1st floor entrance; enter and walk through the first floor to the mall and make a left and the stand will be right there. Definitely recommend! read more

Everytime I think about anything "Watch Related", this is the first store that comes to my mind. The service is extremely fast and the price is very reasonable. For this particular time, I got my band replaced for my Tissot Visodate since the original band was terrible. My wife took my quartz digital watch to Charming Watches to have the button battery replaced. The battery itself sells online for a few bucks each. I had this replacement service done many times in the past for well less than $10 labor and material. Charming Watches charged my wife $31! This is outrageous! My wife also took in a Garmin Vivofit 4 sports watch to have the battery replaced. The shop person told her the watch had no battery and had to be plugged in to recharge. I knew for a fact that this was not true. I highly question the knowledge and/or integrity of the shop person. In short, we will not go back to this place for business in future. read more

It was Sun. night 1/21/07 when my backup watch battery died. I didn't have a watch that was working and wanted it fixed NOW. I had my hubby try to remove the battery from my old Timex watch-he couldn't do it, then I tried-I couldn't either. Called Sears and on Sunday's the watch repair service is closed; Macy's doesn't offer the watch repair service anymore--but the guy mentioned Charming Watches in the Newpark Mall in a kiosk, 1st floor outside of Macy's. I was desperate so I called them up, found out they close at 7pm on Sun. and rushed over there. The Asian man was busy reading or something, but when I mentioned I needed my watch battery changed he did it in like 5 seconds. I didn't see all the steps/tools he used, I got my credit card out and he rung me up. $10 plus tax came out to $10.88! For 5 seconds of work! Wow! This place is located on the lower level of the mall right across from Macy's. I decided to give this place a try from all the great yelp reviews. I was not let down from the reviews :) The service was very quick for my three watch battery replacements. I'd say that it only took around 5 minutes to do all 3 watches. All the work was done all in front of me. If you have problems with your battery, they warrant the battery to work for a year. I love Charming Watches!! This is THE best place in the Tri-City Area to get any watches replaced. I would highly recommend this place, and I always come here for any watch issues (battery out, wristband needs replaced, etc.). The guy here is super nice and always so efficient! I think I have been coming here for over 5 years now (basically, I still like to wear watches-- especially at work-- since I do event planning and sometimes event details are down to the minute!). Incredibly fast and reasonably priced (only $12)-- the guy is also very professional, polite, and just overall nice. One time I made the mistake of going to the watch place at Stoneridge Mall to get my battery fixed and I regretted it because 1) that guy was slow, and 2) the price was higher. This guy is a baller. I brought my Oakley watch expecting to drop it off for battery repair. He swapped it in front of me within 5 minutes! The other issue with my Oakley Judge watch was that its chronograph's second hand wouldn't reset to the 12 o'clock position. He showed me that there is a technique that allows you to actually choose what the default reset position is on the watch. He showed me how, then made me do it in front of him to make sure I had the steps memorized. He also discovered that the date functionality wasn't working. That couldn't be repaired at Charming Watches - I would have to send that in to Oakley. Great service, and I got what I came for fixed. All that for $20, hellz yes! The gentleman at the kiosk checked out my watch and then asked how my day was. I told him about the whole SIM card mess and then he offered to help-- and he removed the sim from my phone. He didn't charge. Super quick service! Hours online seem a bit off since I came literally 10 minutes before closing and after the guy was done working on my watches, he still hadn't closed down shop. They have a list of brands with the prices for battery replacements, so just ask to see that if you want to know how much something will cost. It honestly was not cheap, but also not expensive. I definitely didn't feel like I was being ripped off, but I know my mom has had a bad experience here where they quoted her something outrageous. " Thats the quickest $12 I've ever spent" was all I heard coming from a satisfied customer as I walked up to this watch repair booth today. This booth is station in the middle of the walk way in new park mall, right outside 1st floor Macy's and the Disney store . I stopped in here with intentions of dropping off my watch to have links taken out but to my surprise, the process took literally 2 minutes. The lady doing the repairs was super sweet and extra friendly to my curious 5 year old who was completely in her personal space LOL. Came here for a battery replacement - service was super quick (took a few minutes), but felt it was rather expensive. I knew mall kiosks would probably charge a premium, but the location was convenient and I was on a time crunch (no pun intended). It cost $14 plus tax, so $15.xx out the door. My watch wasn't anything fancy (an $80 piece) and the change is straightforward. Batteries are extremely cheap - less than 50 cents online. I would have felt a little better if they had used a name brand battery, but it wasn't. The bottom of the receipt is also stamped with "No warranty." Meh. If you have the time to shop around, there are places that will change it for $5 to $10. I think I'm going to buy a cheap battery replacement kit online and do it myself. read more

Terrible service at this place! They charged me $10 to resize my watch - which I was willing to pay - but the job wasn't even done right, as the pin fell out within 5 minutes, causing me to almost drop my brand new watch! Since I was still at the mall, I immediately went back to the kiosk to have them fix it. The guy re-inserted the pin in the links for me (took about 15 seconds), but it upset me that no apologies were offered when they so miserably failed on the most basic part of this $10 service. Replaced my watch battery in 2 minutes for $30 (price depends on watch brand, see their little pricing table). And they set the time and date and wiped off all the fingerprints. Fast and convenient and inexpensive. There's not much else to say. Guy is great at what he does, quick, very thorough and if it's a problem beyond his scope of repair, he'll let you know what your next steps should be. There's a pretty decent selection of watches but I've actually never purchased a watch from there before. Located in one of those middle kiosk booths, outside of Macy's. this is probably one of the only kiosks that doesn't have someone trying to put something around your neck, ask you if you care about your skin, or trying to get you to switch cell phone providers...the only kiosk I actually go towards!! read more

For comparison purposes, a new watch battery which you have to replace yourself costs $5 at Target. Battery was replaced in about 2 minutes. This guy is fast and even adjusted the time for me. He does state that there's no warranty and that he's not responsible for any changes in your watch's water resistance, but I'm not too concerned about either of those since my watch isn't an expensive one. read more

I received a Casio G-Shock for Christmas. It is by far the most advanced watch I've ever owned and I do have a few. I attempted to adjust the time by a few minutes and somehow I sent the analog hands forward by 30 minutes and I could not set them back. I read the manual front to back, the English version, the French version, the Spanish version and even the Mandarin version and I still couldn't figure it out. I spent over a month not wearing my beloved G-Shock. When I finally had the time I walked over to the man at the kiosk and I don't know how but five minutes later the time was correct and he just asked for $10.
