Guy is a amateur and has no customer service. He lost one of my deep blue pins which are not cheap than replaced them with tiny China made pins and the bracelet is loose from where the pins go in. Said there was no issue and in regards to loosing one of my pins he just said I lost it. I think he just wanted to keep it because it's a solid deep blue pin. Don't trust this guy go to E&S he has some integrity. It is a mall booth place for a reason, I would avoid if your watch is over $100. !!!!!!!!!AVOID THIS PLACE AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!! These guys are the worst business owners I have ever dealt with. Unprofessional, rude and impolite. Dealing with these guys was my worst customer experience. These guys have a kiosk at the Pleasanton Stoneridge mall. Unfortunately I chose to have them take a look at my watch to fix a little water vapor stuck behind the glass of my Skagen watch which was gifted to me a year ago. The guy acted like he could fix it and opened the watch quickly, but that was the only part he knew how to do. He had no freaking idea what he's doing and messed up the face of the watch, he basically could not put the watch back together, in the process he left a couple of scratch marks and finger prints on the face while struggling with it and then told me I would have to come back in few days. Without a single word of apology!!! But this wasn't the worst part, I called the owner next day to explain. Without even listening to me he denied everything and told me I could go to court if I have a problem in the most rude way. He is probably one of the most impolite people I have ever talked on the phone with. If you don't know how to do your job at least have the courtesy to talk to people decently and simply apologize instead of being rude in their face. Watch out this place. My husband brought my Seiko watch for a new batter on 3/1/2007. The guy put a new battery inn and charged my husband $21.20. Just last week 5/19/2007, I found out my watch was 6 hours behind. I believe the guy just put an old battery in my watch. On another occasion, my husband wanted to buy a battery from this place, the owner was going to charge him $10+ for it. My husband went to Target at the mall and paid only $3+ for the same thing. I went here mainly based on the Yelp! reviews and being fairly close by, so I decided to give it a try. I needed a replacement battery for my Luminox watch, which I've had for almost 10 years. Apparently Luminox watches are hard to service due to their internals being pressurized. The lady at Charming was able to change out my watch battery in less than 5 minutes, and cleaned it/set the correct time for me. I'll be back when I need another replacement :) read more

This kiosk is located outside of H&M. The man who runs the kiosk is very friendly. He is the only person at Newpark who was willing to size my watch and was cheaper than Bhindi jewelers. In fact, the jewelers at Newpark recommended him over their own stores to size my watch!! Highly recommend as his service is reasonably priced and quick. read more

I brought in 3 watches. Two for batteries and one adjustment. The service was fast and professional. The technician checked the my watches prior to installing the batteries. The batteries were fresh from new packages and the adjustment was a professional fit. The tech took additional time to properly adjust my watches and insured they fit perfectly. Besides adjusting to the correct time and date he also took the time to make sure all the dials on the watch were working, when he discovered one was a bit stuck, he took time to fix it! Not sure what others are saying when they say he's extremely rude, i.e. telling someone to come back in 30 min because he was eating his lunch. Basic decency....He doesn't say much but he's not rude. I went there to replace battery for my watch and the guy with long hair basically just ignoring my existence just busy eating and chatting with his friend. It seems for me a long time to finally get his attention. Thus, I dropped off my watch and went on shopping at the mall. Guess what happened!!!, I picked up the watch, and the guy didn't even change the time for me. I simply asked him nicely, could you change the clock for me. *************************** Update! Changed from 1 to 3 stars I should have updated this much sooner. I went back the next day and Alex was working. Despite the claims from the younger employee the day before who said it was impossible to fix, Alex was able to fix it in less than 5 minutes. He said it can be a little tricky and harder than it looks to fix this problem. It turned out to be much easier than he thought (and probably previous watches he's worked on) and returned the watch in mint condition and said there would be no charge. This was not different than my experience with the other employee the day before - the experience was OPPOSITE. I had instant respect for his steady hand, patience, and the kind of mastery that comes with decades of healing these elegantly intricate time machines that fewer people can explain how they work than than the few people who truly understand how their automobile runs. In other words, watches are one of those wonders we benefit from in life that we have the luxury of taking for granted because of masters like Alex who take pride in the quality of their work whether it's noticed by others or not. Or., maybe I just caught him on a good day! :) I'm sorry it has to only be 3 stars due to the previous days experience. I Unlike the previous day's experience, Alex had very few words. Alex spoke most powerfully with his actions and skill. --Original-- Not So Charming...Watch (out!). An Asian guy (in his 20s, a little plump, long black hair, glasses) was on duty this Sunday late afternoon (May 26) popped a numeric tab off the watch face while he changed the battery for us. Nothing looked "broken" in that new parts were needed - a numeric tab just popped off by the number 6 and was now just floating around the watch face. This watch was a gift and has never been used and left in a drawer for a few years. This was the first time the battery has ever been replaced. We went back with the receipt 15 minutes later after I noticed a numeric tab was now floating around inside the glass. The first time he was looking straight down playing a game on his smart phone and it was difficult to get his attention. There were no other customers around when I returned and it was still difficult to get him to notice that I was standing right beside him. 1. Firstly, he denied that he was even the one who worked on it and after looking at it tried to blame it on a coworker. He had JUST worked on it 15 minutes earlier and right out of the gate he was denying he had even seen the watch before even after asking if he was 100% sure! He said "I never touched this, it was the other guy that was here earlier. He was wearing orange right?" No it wasn't someone else, it was him and he knew it right away. He obviously remembered working on the watch just a few minutes ago and only admitted it when the receipt was shown. After the receipt was taken out he looked at the watch again and said "Oh yeah, maybe i did work on this watch." (as if it had nothing to do with the receipt) 2. Now, after lying about his own identify, he now was saying there was "no way" that changing a battery could have made the tab pop off. While he was changing the battery we both watched him struggle hard to both open the watch (his whole arm was shaking!) and then he had even more trouble putting the watch back together too - he used a second stronger clamp/press when he couldn't make it work with the first one. He was becoming impatient (the watch was taking time away from his game). His whole arm was shaking with muscle failure again from the amount of pressure he was using and trying to force the watch back together. He was applying a lot of force to the watch and it's obvious that it could make a tab pop off the face of the watch. Not a big deal until he refused to make it right. 3. He also initially said that there was no way that it could be repaired (absurd!). I then pointed out that he could probably access this part of the watch by going through the back. So then after him saying with complete confidence over and over that it could not be repaired, he now says it will be $20 to repair it! I would also have to leave it there because he wasn't the one who did repairs. Perhaps he is only the one who breaks the watches - someone else takes care of fixing them. I asked why should I have to pay for a problem you caused while changing the battery? He said "There is no way you can prove that." I responded that the only problem with the watch was a dead battery until he touched it. He only said "There's no way to prove it.". ---TRUNCATED--- At just over $13 including tax, it's a relatively small amount but it's the most I've ever paid to have a watch battery replaced. Yet the $13 apparently wasn't enough to even get him to admit he even touched the watch 15 minutes ago. I'm going back tomorrow in hopes of finding the guy who does the repairs. I brought my mother's $400 bulova watch, which is what she paid for it to Charming watch repair to have a new battery put in it. The young 20 something worker there did it in 3 minutes. The next day, I saw to my dismay the watch's back had fallen off while Id been out running errands. Charming repair apparently does shoddy workmanship on something so simple as a battery change! I took it bk to them. they said they could do nothing about it. Theyre con artists. He put the back on so loosely that the back fell off. I tried to find a replacement bk. there weren't any. My expensive watch slowed dn bc dust/dirt get into wat h fr open bk. Ended up throwing it in the trash. Anyone who values their watch, do not go to Charming to have it repair. Terrible workmanship! Don't know why but recently I have been in need of frequent watch repair. I just remember seeing 2 watch repair Kiosks at Newpark Mall (my go-to errand mall) one on both floors near the smack center near the escalators in front of Macy's. The first time I needed a battery replacement and basically picked the kiosk that had the least amount of wait time..which was Fast Fix Jewelry Repair. I didn't have a bad experience but apparently according to Yelp..not so great. So the 2nd time I decided to go downstairs for a strap adjustment on my new fake Rolex (what my friend always makes fun of me by..but it's not even close) to Charming Watches. I was probably the 2nd in line and the nice Asian watch technician was very efficient, but by the time he got to me there was a pretty long wait with about 5 persons long. People didn't seem to mind waiting. I would probably suggest coming here on a weekday not a weekend. I never actually really noticed a line but it seems like the few times I needed watch services, there was one. The prices were a bit steep, $10 bucks for taking a few links out, but I guess that's how they make their money..it's fine. read more
