He was right next to Apni Mandi market and is currently still in the same plaza. For fast repairs and battery changes I used to drop stuff off and then head into Apni Mandi for Amul butter and the fire roasted peanuts they sell in a bag. My first trip I brought him my wifes quartz watch that was no longer running and a mechanical chronograph that had part of the dial applique loose and was rattling around the inside of the dial. He prioritized my watch because I told him it was a gift from my wife from 2013 and my first "real" eatch. He charged an incredibly affordable price for having to basically take apart the whole chrono to get at the dial. My wife's quartz watch had a leaked battery that had damaged the whole movement so he replaced it also for an affordable price. He helped remove a link on a silver bracelet and solder the links back together very cleanly so he does jewelery repair as well. I started buying vintage mechanical watches and Jalal helped diagnose and perform a full overhaul on my Bulova "Devil Diver" and helped me restore and clean a nice 14K gold LeCoultre watch from the 50s. He won't do quotes over the phone so be prepared to come in person. He also appreciates phone calls over text so don't text unless you have to! It is chaotic and messy inside the shop but Jalal is such a charming pillar of the community I don't mind. Every time I come people are here just to hang out!

I was disappointed with the item when I received it a few short days later. It was dainty, thin and it wasn't what I'd expected. I took it to a nearby Kay Jeweler (this one, at Newpark Mall). I met Maria who assisted me with the return. It was a very effortless process and she was so delightful! The return confirmation was emailed to me almost immediately and I was free from any financial obligation for that product. So, due to dismay, I was quick to check Kay Online (again) to search for a replacement piece. I set my eyes on a bangle quite similar to the last as it was also yellow gold. This time though - rather than 14k it was 10k and just a bit less in price than the last order. SOLD! Within less than a week the second order had arrived and was ready for pick up at the Newpark mall location (the same store I'd visited last time). As soon as I stepped in I was approached by Maria :) and was immediately greeted with a smile and an uplifting attitude. I wasn't interested in shopping around more as they could customize my ring into the setting in white or yellow gold. I originally wanted a yellow gold, but the sales person recommended the white gold. I also walked out with a completely different ring than I had in mind. I think it's important to let the expert give advice and try a few different things that work for you. I thought I knew what I wanted, but kept and open mind. He said if I didn't like it I can come back and change it to yellow gold. I am still trying it out to see how I feel about the white gold. You also get 1 free resize. They offer upgrade options as well. You will maintain the value for this ring and just pay the difference when upgrading. They also replace the Diamond stone if it goes missing, but not the band/ whole ring. For that, they recommended purchasing a third party insurance (ie through your auto insurance). They do not have a return policy. Exchange was okay. We got our engagement and wedding rings from here with lab grown Diamonds. When we went back to pick up the rings, we got another tungsten ring. I got my Breda watch outfitted with a new battery (good for another two years) for just $20. The watch was treated with care and the battery switch was handled in under two minutes.
