Ale Yeah is the best beer store in town! They've really created something special with this place. It has a warm, comfortable environment. Great assortment of meats and cheeses. Also, home brewers will be happy in the fact that you can get quality supplies there. Oh! and the beer! very excellent variety of beer, stuff I don't see a lot of the time, stuff from all over the states and the world. I was excited to see Ale Yeah! open and was even more pleased when I went to shop there. I had gone to eat at Leon's that same day and went into Ale Yeah to find the beer I had ordered at lunch. Since I had only remembered the brewery but had forgotten the name of the beer, I described the tasting notes to one of the employees. He named the beer and escorted me to the product on the shelf. $7 for a high-end 750ml bottle? Awesome. We splurged and also bought some of the high-end chocolate from the local chocolatier, Cacao, as well (I am also a fan of theirs.) All and all, I had a great experience. They were hosting a beer/donut pairing tonight that started at 6:00. My friend and I got in line at 6:10, 5 minutes later was told they only had 50 pairings for the night and only 13 left at the time. They should have posted on the Facebook event page the number of pairings they had. Or have people buy tickets in advance not at the door. I cried the first time I went here- seriously. I adore craft brew stores, and this one has not only a great selection, but great staff. Prices are decent as well, and the organization of the beers is very helpful. I'll be honest and say I mocked the name of the place when it was announced. I guess I didn't take it too seriously. Thankfully the thought of the name pretty much went out the window when I started going here regularly. Hop City definitely has the size advantage, but I believe Ale Yeah is worth the trip and definitely a worthy addition for the folks like myself who live in the area. In addition to the beer selection, I love the fact that I can customize my six-pack from practically any single-serving sized bottle in the store, and am not limited to a certain section of the store as some outlets do. It's already saved me from getting a six-pack of something I didn't particularly like, and like most craft beer enthusiasts, I like to try new things. Great growler place. Went with a ScoutMob coupon and they treated me like royalty. They have a nice selection of beers available on tap and the bottles are arranged by type. Ale, Sour, Stout, etc... I like that arrangement and the store doesn't make me feel like I'm going to knock anything over. Price is reasonable I bought a Boulevard Nommo 750ml for the same price I would pay in Kansas City. Relatively small compared to the availability at Hop City/Green's, but carries many of the really good ones. Super friendly staff too.Loved the fact that they had a single beer section as well. This place is quite out of the way for us, but if we go to revolution donuts again, we will surely visit here again. These guys are just enough out of the way to have a good stock and not run out immediately, while still remaining convenient for folks in Kirkwood and Decatur. I've found several small batch or unique beers that sold out elsewhere before I could get to the store, or never even arrived. read more

My go to growler spot. They offer up some beers not on offer at other places. The service here is also a cut above. Everyone knows their stuff and can offer great recommendations so you don't get stuck with a beer that isn't to your liking. I've gone back tons of times since my last review of this spot in 2011, and it's consistently one of the best craft beer stores in the area, and my favorite in Atlanta. Hands down probably the best customer service EVER. A friend and I stopped bySunday evening before dinner and were amazed at the offerings. I don't know much about beer but the guy that assisted us (I think Alex) was great. I told him a few flavors and beers I like and he had a list of recommendations. Even better, you don't have to commit to an entire 6-pack just to get home and not like it. I got 9 different beers, but left not breaking the bank with a 6-pack and 4-bottle pack. This place is great. In addition to hundreds of beers I have never seen and wanna try, they had some nice cheeses and a Jalapeno jam that rocked my face off. The guy that worked there was knew his stuff and made the beer shopping fun. I'm not a beer expert, so it was nice to have some help. I got some Japanese beer with an Owl on the label. Great selection! The growlers continually change and always have great choices for any palate. The staff is helpful and really nice. Decatur is a bit of a trek for me but I tend to hit the Dekalb Farmer's Market every couple of weeks and when I do Ale Yeah! is usually a stop on the route too. It's a great little beer shop with growler service and a good selection of bottles. The staff is friendly and I've never had to wait too long which is also a bonus. Beer nerds are definitely comfortable here and I suspect beer newbies are too. Parking can take a bit of skill, but you can reward yourself with a doughnut from Revolution Donuts on your way in. read more

Since I am trying to learn more imported beers, a friend had recommended me to try them out so I went in tonight to buy a pack of St. Bernardus Abt 12 and the guy behind the counter, instead of trying to sell me more beer, educated me on others to try if I liked that one. It's a small place so if you're looking for a warehouse full of beer this is not the place for you. That being said if you love brew you WILL definitely find something here. Saw Ale Yeah one day while I was driving, and brought by beer nut husband in, and he just about went into a dead faint. Amazing selection of Belgian beer, Japanese, all kinds of craft beer AND on draft beer you can take home with you in 32 oz reusable growlers! Wow! Now that I've found this, I can't think of any reason we'd go to Tower for beer. read more

This place has a great selection and knowledgeable beer geeks running the counters. Allot of what they have is the standard craft beer stuff but they do keep a bunch of hard to find and specialty items. Don't Forget to bring your growler. The layout is great too if you want to just browse through a certain style of beer. This time I picked up a Linch Pin, a white IPA, a short run Founders/Green Flash collaboration. It was pretty pricey, $7.50 for a 22oz but worth it for an interesting combo of beer styles that you would be hard pressed to find again since it's doesn't fit a style. It was pretty much a yeasty wheat with lots of American hops added, especially on the floral side. I also got a growler of the Red Hare Gangway IPA. This one was a pretty good deal, 8.99 for 64 oz., for a 7% hoppy beer. Despite it being less expensive it was very well balanced Amber-ish IPA. This is not the off the charts bitter IPA but balanced and malty. I think I'll be watching out for what else Red Hare offers up. read more

I split my growler purchases between Ale Yeah in Decatur and the Beer Growler in Avondale Estates. While the Beer Growler has a much larger selection of beers on tap, Ale Yeah always has a good selection, and has a wide array of quality bottled beers. Ale Yeah has an alright selection of Bombers, unique bottles and taps. My wife and I just relocated to Decatur and have been frequenting Ale Yeah about twice a week for the last two weeks. Up to this point the customer service had been good from the guy that is there during the week in the afternoon. But Sunday we went in and were met by two aspiring hipsters that were extremely rude and completely unwelcoming. We will be going to Taps, The Growler Store or Hop City from now on. Bad customer service! The employees were very unfriendly and were more intent on finishing their stocking duties than helping the customers. When we left we found that we were blocked in by the Shiner delivery truck. When we went back in to ask if they would kindly get the driver to move the truck up a few feet the guy said "not my problem." We waited for 10 more minutes and then I went back in. This time he said "I will try to tell him to hurry up" and then went back to doing something else. After a total of 20 minutes the driver came out and drove off. We stopped by on our last trip to Decatur to check out if there were any beers available that we haven't seen or gotten in Macon. We had our dog with us so we called ahead to see if they were dog friendly, which they are. Upon entering the store the attendant greeted us and asked if we had any questions. I got his opinion on beer that we had never had before and he was beyond helpful. I like the easy set up they have in the store with each type of beer (stout, sour, IPA, etc.) having its own labeled area. They had an awesome selection of cans and bottles and do allow for you to do the "mix and match" style 6-packs. They had free pretzel samples as well as big ones you could buy as well as a few other food items. They have Ale Yeah "swag" that can be bought in house. They also have select beers in refrigeration in case you don't want to have to wait to enjoy your beer once you get home. They also have 10 or so kegs that you can fill a growler with which we did as well. The only thing keeping Ale Yeah from having 5 stars in the fact that you have to pay for samples if you're trying to fill a growler. read more
