I see what they are trying to do here and it has great potential, but that's just it - they're trying too hard with the food and not with the service. I've visited twice with a larger group (about 8-10 people), once in September 2014 and recently in December 2014. Both times we were asked "Oh god, you're going to want separate checks?" The first time, we did want separate checks but by table, the second time, we did not. But either way, that's not what you want to hear when you are first seated. The restaurant has plenty of room for large groups, they should work on wanting to attract that kind of business not detract. For service, I'd say overall they need to pay more attention to the customer. Both visits resulted in lack of follow up once we received our drinks and food. We had to ask for a second round or even just refills on water. For the December visit, when we were finished and wanted the check (we were the only table in the restaurant), the waitress was not to be found and never cleared the table. She didn't complete the service, which I always think is the worst way to end an experience at a restaurant. For me, ending on a poor note usually results in a lower tip for the server because it's the last impression on my mind. On environment, the music was way too loud for the amount of people in the place. It should be altered to the size of crowd, especially because the place is large and has high ceilings. We were the only table for lunch and there were a few people at the bar but the volume was as if it were 11pm on a Friday with a packed crowd. The restaurant space and bar area are very inviting otherwise. As for the food, it's definitely a change for the Scranton area and I think that's a really good thing. They have a great selection of beers and at really great prices. However I do think they have too many ingredients per item for some menu selections. The pulled pork nachos had way too much bbq sauce on them, that's all we could taste. And the drunken mussels had way too much sauerkraut. Maybe find the balance between simplifying the menu a bit and still be daring. Less can actually be more in some cases. But the mac and cheese is very good and with option to add lobster, it made it even better. By far the best thing on the menu is the pub pretzels! read more

Coming from the Gastro pub centric Philadelphia I really didn't have high expectations for this place. I visited during a trip to my grandparents lake house, it was actually my B Day. Dude, this place knocked it out of the park. My server was just the kind of snarky hipster that I wasn't expecting but very much appreciate, the food will kill you if you eat it everyday but it's amazingly creative and they had TVs everywhere allowing me to watch the NBA Finals. If you're looking for a great 21 - 40 age range bar that has killer grub this is your spot. The only gripe I have is that the managers should police the jukebox a little better, 4 death metal songs in row had my head spinning. read more

we tried making a reservation and they wouldn't let us , we had about 20 people coming and we tried telling them before hand , and they said we were fine , than we get there and they all have a problem .... They were rude , they told half of our table they couldn't sit there ; than the whole bar was being very disrespectful and talking about us ; I asked to speak to a manager and she was rude too saying how many tables we took and this and that , if you ever have a party coming I wouldn't recommend this place . Then the other manager my mom spoke too said we were rude when we weren't I honestly wouldn't recommend coming here they are all rude . It's not worth it read more

I ate at the bar and the food and presentation were great, I had the impossible Burger. Rob the bartender made sure we had everything we needed and drinks were replenished without our having to ask for his attention. The service could not be any better. Owner Al Russo and his team do a great job. Highly recommended. read more

My mom's name is Mary so we decided to try this place out. We enjoyed the food, got lots of gossip in, and even danced around to the live band! Would highly recommend coming here for your dining needs. The only bad thing was that I blew up the bathroom and stunk it up. Hope they got that fixed. Thanks Ale Mary's! read more

We ordered takeout. First off -- the short rib flatbread was beyond incredible. Seriously. Try it. The chicken noodle soup was a bit spicy. I was dealing with a sore throat so looking forward to that - but couldn't eat more than half. Everyone else loved their food - hot dogs, sandwiches, fried pickles. read more

Great food, great beer menu. Just fire the douchey bartender that thinks he's a chip and dales model.
