I was actually on my way to find Tacos when I spotted this cute ice cream shop! I am a sucker for some good summer delights. Since I did not find the Tacos, I made my way over. Gelato is the main item at Aldo; same delicious, soft and scoopable concept as ice cream but less creamy. Too happy I stopped and wish I found it a lot sooner. The strawberry gelato was SO good, I really wish I was not playing it modest and got more than one scoop. Although, it was pretty warm outside, the umbrellas were already out for patrons to sit and people watch. The staff was SUPER friendly and allowed me to try multiple flavors and I did!...*Guess I was not being too modest.* If you're visiting Tulum, the cute shop is located in the Hotel Zone, on the street so you can't miss it! read more

Worth the wait. It takes about 10 minutes for them to make a bubble waffle with all the fun decor. And so with it both in aesthetics and taste. Delicious gelato and toppings. So glad I came here. I'm pretty sure I'm reviewing the wrong Aldo's, but I guess it can carry over to the brand in its entirety. This was the one place that saved me when I needed a place to relax. Tulum has terrible traffic with criminally high taxi fares so I ended up walking to my destination. 20 minute walk with no sidewalks so I was tired and smelled like gasoline. I arrive to my restaurant without realizing I was an hour early... they were closed! Feeling stranded, I see an Aldo's next door. I walk in and am immediately hit by a cool rush of AC. THANK THE HEAVENS! I purchase one scoop of gelato and an Alfajores. They even have wifi if you ask for the PW. I finished my food within 15 mins, but they let me sit there for a whole hour. I people-watched while I cooled down in that AC. This will always be a fond memory for me. A safe haven in such a cruel, cruel jungle we call Tulum. P.S. the Alfajores was better than the gelato, but they get a pass! ;) read more

Some of the best gelato I've had in a long time! They have sorbet and vegan options also for those that are looking. They have a beautiful array of flavors, toppings and cones to choose from and they also have small desserts if you're not a gelato or sorbet fan. I had the double sunshine and I don't know how I am ever going to be able to find a gelato flavor to top that now for my summer cravings. The mango gelato was also very good. I liked the mango and guava sorbet as well. My husband had the chocolate kinder, pistachio, and hazelnut and loved his as well. The kids ate vanilla - no surprise there, but they looked very happy with it! I loved that they had an indoor, outdoor, and partial outdoor seating area. The restaurant was kept very clean and staff was kind. They have bathrooms out back for customers as well that were spacious and clean. Definitely worth stopping by as you're passing through the main strip on Tulum. It's a great snack on a hot day in the middle of checking out all of the adorable shops. read more

Franchise ice cream store located all over the Tulum area. After walking by so many, we had to peek in and explore. The shops are super clean with friendly staff, but the hook is all the distinct flavors of ice creams, sorbets and waffle cone options. Great artistic presentation of the various options, creating a tasteful experience for the eyes and tastebuds as well. One of our favorite casual dessert spots during our stay. read more

My husband and I came in a few nights ago. Everyone was nice and everything was delicious so we decided to stop by again today after a day at the Tulum Ruins. As soon as I stepped up to the counter the clerk ignored us and seemed bothered by our presence. We proceeded to order. As we were checking out, I happened to look in the display case and notice all 3 keto brownies that were wrapped in plastic had mold on top of them in multiple spots. All of a sudden someone took 2 of them out. I'm thinking she threw them away because how could you miss mold on them. I liked the mandarin orange flavour (don't see that one too often, especially not done well!). I asked for a single scoop of gelato in a cup (one flavor, super simple). The worker kept trying to put two scoops in the one bowl, clarified multiple times just the one scoop. Went to pay and was attempted to be charged for two, when worker added extra scoop just before I paid. I clarified again one scoop in the cup, she dumped out both scoops and placed the smallest scoop in a cone. Frustrating experience overall and just a headache. read more
