Absolutely amazing experience. The food was scrumptious and the attention to detail was outstanding!
Excellent pastries. Really enjoyed the guayaba scone and the babka. The pan de bono was a bit dry. The vanilla cannoli was excellent with real vanilla. The chocolate and pera pound cake was good too. The matcha was great.
I came across this place on Yelp while researching places near my hotel and was immediately intrigued by the Chongo Negro so I went for a little walk. It's a cute little cafe along the side of the road. Everything looks tasty and fresh. I ordered the interesting looking Chongo Negro and Iced Mocha to go and some pastries for the hotel employees. I left it in the fridge for a treat later in the day and it was the best decision! It was so good! I don't want to reduce it down to this but it's basically a croissant made with activated charcoal (hence the color) with a delicious chocolate mousse-like filling covered in a mildly sweet chocolate icing. Would definitely recommend!!! The Iced Mocha was not very sweet but still enjoyable. I was not happy with the service. They were not friendly or welcoming AT ALL! I really liked the establishment and goodies but was not rushing on going back during my trip. I also did not like that they gave me all my pastries in individual bags and did not provide a larger bag considering they knew it was a to-go order. Get to-go boxes for your customers not eating their items at the cafe.
Omg me muero! This is my favorite brunch spot in Tulum. I went three mornings in a row because I couldn't get enough lol! My friend had gone to a gym near by and someone she met there told her about this place. My expectations were exceeded. The first morning it was so packed, but there were seats inside at the bar and it was only two of us so we sat down immediately. I couldn't get enough of the aesthetic of the inside and how well organized they are. We ordered fresh fruit juice, hot lattes, small sugar donuts we saw on the counter and I got avo toast with feta on marble bread. Absolutely delicious! The avo was creamy and the bread was soft and freshly baked. Second morning I went back, we were able to get a table for 3 because we went a bit earlier. I ordered again fruit juice and an iced latte and this time I got the focaccia sandwich with mortadella and aioli. the waitress recommended to add mozzarella and she was not lying! It was bomb! It came in a huge portion so I saved half for my friends and they all loved it. Last day I ordered the same drinks but I got the burrata/pesto/prosciutto toast and *chefs kiss! I was sad to leave knowing I maybnever be back at this place cause who knows if I'll be back in tulum some day. The service was great and I even gave the waitress an official good bye lmao (tear*)
Loved this cute cafe! The aesthetic is so beautiful. The french toast was one of the best i ever had!!Also tried the omelette but it was too earthy tasting to me. The Chongo negro was interesting, not my favorite.
Best coffee I had in Tulum. Quaint little shop in a shopping center. The desserts looked amazing. I wish I had some. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. The drinks came out fast. Would definitely recommend for a coffee and dessert trip.
I was here in 2020 and I am back in 2022. Amazing food and great for breakfast, brunch , lunch. They have some very unique specialty foods. You won't find anywhere else. It is worth the price. I would rey this restaurant in a big way. I am sure you will be glad you came here.
I LOVE this place. A variety of vegan and gluten free options! Best bakery in town!!! I've tried a lot of stuff on their menu, their vegan pizza is BOMB, the tapioca is amazing, the salads are organic, wow. It's a must try. I don't drink coffee but I've heard they have the best coffee!
Loved the coffee and the pastries here. We went back a few times during our visit, sometimes for breakfast or to grab some treats to take as we explored.
Brunch here was fantastic. Aesthetic and tasty food offerings seen in the photos. Must visit if you are in the area.

We returned yesterday and had a delicious Pan Frances. During the morning rush, it's hard to find a seat here. Service was still great! The waitress even flagged us down when a table opened up so we could grab a seat in the shade.
Great pastries, coffee and atmosphere! The carrot cake, which I believe was vegan, was delicious. It did not taste like a carrot cake, but rather some sort of lemon pastry. The consistency was a bit chewier than a classic cake. The banana smoothie was so creamy and delicious with just the right amount of ice. The iced latte was great as well. They only have coconut milk or almond milk. All the other displayed pastries looked so good; I wish I could've tried them all.
Always enjoyed our visits to italdo for breakfast brunch and, of course, coffee. Flat white, iced mocha, chai lattes are what we usually get here for drinks. Great milk to coffee ratio and different milk offers. The burrata sandwich is open faced with pesto and prosciutto. Chiqaquiles is filling and a good mix of all those flavors and textures, croissants here are highly recommended whether it is savory or sweet. Our service has always been friendly and timely. Casual chill cafe vibes. Would highly recommend! read more

Good coffee and desserts. Some of the desserts were a bit too on the sweeter side. Service takes its time but not too bad. The tables outside are perfect to enjoy the weather. read more

Great little cafe/patisserie. If you're down that way be sure to check it out. Grabbed brekkie one morning and take away coffees and pastries two other times and the food & drink were always delish. Their almond croissants are legit to die for. Staff always very friendly and helpful. 100% recommend. read more

Avocado toast was good. Service was not. They made me sit at a tiny counter inside because I was a party of one. I wanted to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Also, I was charged extra for my macchiato, because I got decaf. I was not aware this was going to happen! Didn't go back, but others seemed to love it. Hopefully this doesn't happen to everyone. read more

For the best breakfast spot in Veleta and maybe even in all of Tulum, come to Pasteleria Italdo. Come early because this place gets packed or you'll just have to wait in line. We were lucky to have snagged two open seats indoors at the bar every morning! Italdo is packed and busy during All hours because the food here is that good and does not break the bank. For lunch, the tortellini sepia (local mushroom, local cheese, white wine, butter) $175 is Excellent. Expect very high quality food, super friendly staff, and excellent fresh baked goods that are made in-house. Some of the standout dishes are not even on the menu such as the avocado toast with goat cheese $140 on freshly baked activated charcoal sourdough: Outstanding! Only available for breakfast. This was hands down, the best avocado toast I ever had, beats anything I had while in Sydney Australia, Los Angeles, New York, etc. Excellent coffee $37, double espresso $47 and of course the pastries. You cannot dine here without ordering some pastries! Get the chongo negro $50: a charcoal croissant filled with a light chocolate cream and Yucatán lime zest. It is Outstanding and unlike anything I ever had before. The croissant de almendra (almond croissant) $72 also is excellent. Our first time dinning at Italdo's, we ended up ordering an Additional 2 almond croissants to-go (After finishing 2). Partner rarely eats any sweets but he devoured and inhaled his almond croissant. It initially looked very sweet but in fact, it was not. The banana shake $63 was excellent and had just a hint of sweetness. Made with fresh bananas, coconut milk, cacao, chopped pecans, and the whipped cream my goodness was Delicious. That was the only sweet component. Not ashamed to say this but we've been driving here Daily for the food. I've ordered the chongo negro $50, banana shake $63 and avocado toast everyday! Two Big thumbs up. read more

Food and drinks are amazing! We tried a croissant sandwich with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and avocado. The orange juice tasted very fresh and their hot mocha was absolutely delicious! read more

I stopped in for a pastry, and it was so hard to choose one! So many options and they all looked amazing. I ultimately went with a "Suspiro" -- a chocolate mousse treat blended with fruits in a chocolate shell. It tasted so good I was tempted to go back for another. I just got my order to-go, but the outdoor patio dining area looked very inviting as well. read more
