Dr. Whitley is so gentle yet effective while she does his adjustments, and is so knowledgeable on all things health/wellness related. I come from a family of doctors and nurses, but I don't even ask them for health advice - I ask Dr. Whitley instead because she really knows what she's talking about! She knows so much not just about traditional Western medicine, but about holistic remedies, too. Even when my son was sick for the first time, instead of calling the pediatrician's office, we called VFC and they told us to come in for an adjustment, and she was also able to provide us with additional recommendations for our whole family. We've also seen Dr. Abbey once before when Dr. Whitley was out, and she was also so kind and so good at what she does. Maggie keeps their social media updated with helpful info, hosts community events, and alongside Emily, greets you with the warmest smile when you walk through the door. Emily, the receptionist, has got to be one of the kindest people I've ever met! She is so caring and will help you out with whatever you need! Their intern, Ashley, was also great while she was there. All that said, I've never been to another doctor's office where I get to know everyone who works there, and their staff is truly the best. :-) When you book with VFC, you're not just booking with another doctor's office. They really do go above and beyond any doctor's office I've ever interacted with. They even have a whole play area perfect for toddlers, plus snacks, breastfeeding pillows, and extra diapers and clothes. I had a horrible experience with this doctor and his facility, Medic Lane Physicians. I woke up…read moreone Saturday morning with an excruciatingly painful sore throat. Having recently registered as a patient at Medic Lane, I called the office and got a recording that said office hours on Saturday were 8AM-12Noon. Yet no one picked up at 8:05, 8:10, or even 8:20. I finally called the "after hours" number and got a live operator at an answering service, who said she'd page the doctor on call. Around 8:40 I got a call from Dr. Dewitt, who said he could see me at 10 AM. When I arrived, I asked the receptionist, Christine, why no one had answered the phone earlier. "We don't open till 9:00 on Saturdays," she said. I informed her that the office voicemail said 8 to Noon. "It's 9:00!" she replied. I said, "Well, you might want to change the recording then, because it says 8:00." "It's 9:00! Jesus Christ!" she shouted at me. That's a direct quote, believe it or not; I could hardly believe my ears! I'd been speaking to her calmly and in a normal tone of voice, and here she was, literally yelling and cursing at me for no reason! About that time the office manager came over to see what the commotion was about, and Christine said I was giving her a hard time. Then the manager started berating me for having "a bad attitude!" I can assure you, if I hadn't been in such terrible pain, I would have told them both off and walked out. But I really needed a doctor, so I stayed. When Dr. Dewitt saw me, I mentioned in passing that I'd had pharyngitis twice before and that antibiotics had cured it. Without performing any tests, he wrote a prescription for antibiotics and a mild pain killer and sent me on my way. My condition improved, but when I finished the course of antibiotics 10 days later, the sore throat came back with a vengeance. After 14 days it was as bad or worse than before. I did some online research and learned that the two primary causes of pharyngitis are bacterial (strep throat) and viral. If it's viral, antibiotics don't work. I returned to Medic Lane and saw another doctor, who, at my request, swabbed my throat and ran a test. It confirmed that my condition was indeed viral. That necessarily means that Dr. Dewitt committed medical malpractice on me that day! There's no way to sugarcoat it. He undeniably prescribed unneeded medication without confirming whether it was indicated, and his negligence prolonged the healing of my sore throat for two full weeks. It cleared up on its own after another 12 days, which it would've done originally if the antibiotics hadn't interfered with the natural healing process. In retrospect, I'm not sure which makes me angrier: Dr. Dewitt's carelessness or the rudeness and abuse I suffered at the hands of the Medic Lane staff. But it goes without saying, I never went back. My advice: avoid this place like the plague! Trust me, you can do better.

What I don't appreciate is when medical practitioners get offended when you ask questions, or challenge theories when it comes to your own health. It is my body and my life, I think every patient should ask questions and challenge conventional theories. I have a thyroid issue. I am trying to find ways to heal it. I have been seeing Dr. Horsefield for maybe 5 years now, and have noticed passive aggressiveness before... but what I recently experienced is clearly unacceptable. I saw him for my regular annual appointment 3 months ago. My TSH levels were too high, so I got on some thyroid supplements and we retested about 6 weeks later. The results came in and the TSH levels were too low. I have since readjusted my medication and sent him an email politely asking if he could order the bloodwork to retest my levels so I can ensure i am now healthy and found the right balance. His response was callous. I have attached a photo with the passive aggressive response, where he makes it clear that he wont put the test in the system because he doesn't get paid for "answering emails, ordering tests, reviewing tests, communicating test results and maintenance of records" ..... REALLY? Aren't those tasks associated with being a doctor? I would be happy to pay him, for me it isn't about the money at all. In addition, clearly SOMEONE is getting paid when I order these lab tests because I'm charged thousands of dollars for them. All I need though is the bloodwork.... and he doesn't have availability for 2 months!?! I'm extremely disappointed that someone in the healthcare field is so much more concerned about their wallet than their patients health. Also if he wanted to charge me a processing fee that is fine, but his solution is clearly not in my best interest to wait 2 months and potentially do irreversible damage to my body.
