Front desk staff could use more training, I don't know why they seem so mysterious but I ignore it assuming it's a business tactic. If you owe more than a cent they won't let you see your doctor until you pay up and will have this conversation with you out in the open for all to hear. I was a Kelsey patient for years and I highly recommended OBGYN Dr. Findlay-Smith. But the staff service is poor and could be avoided by going elsewhere altogether. read more

I've had multiple appointments at Kelsey, and unfortunately, my experience with the front office staff has been consistently disappointing. More often than not, the front desk employees come across as passive-aggressive, rarely acknowledge patients when they arrive, and don't seem welcoming or friendly. For many patients, the front desk staff are the first people they interact with, often when they're not feeling well or are already stressed. A warm greeting and a little kindness can make a big difference. Instead, the interactions often feel cold and uninviting, which leaves a negative first impression. The lack of care and medical understanding I received from Dr Milinda Avalos was incredible. At the first office visit (a yearly check up) I was shuttled in and out as quick as possible, and I did not have time to ask any questions. Then, my labs showed one slightly elevated liver enzyme, which Dr Avalos incorrectly diagnosed as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I fed my numbers into an AI bot and the bot had the intelligence to ask if I'd had a hard workout recently. In fact I did, and I'm guessing the AI bot was more correct. More galling, I asked Dr Avalos what to do about the NAFLD. She basically said "IDK LOL," and if that wasn't bad enough the app let me know the response was generated by AI. She couldn't care less... Next, I asked to go on zepbound. Dr Avalos prescribed it for me (BMI above 30), but told me it would only be for a month while my BMI was above 30. I showed her the data from Eli Lilly showing that this is supposed to be a long term / maintenance drug, and if I go off in a month obviously I'm going to regain the weight. I showed her clinical data that confirms I should stay on through lower BMIs. I showed her insurance data that said I should stay qualified as long as I qualified at the beginning of treatment. Again her response was basically "IDK LOL!" Cannot recommend avoiding this place at all costs if this is the type of person they have giving medical advice. read more

Terrible institution no matter the branch is all of them are all about $$$$. They dont care about their patients frequent violations of patient rights forced use of their facities under denial of service penalty if you request image or labs orders for a third party of your choice(because they always overcharge at least twice of other providers) they deny the release of the order, long periods of wait mostly attended by medical assistants rare if you see a Doctor for more than 10 min even if on specialist consultation, DO NOT GO TO ANY KELSEY SEYBOLD SITE THEY ARE ALL ABOUT THE MONEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. The pharmacy needs to be open until 6pm at least one day per week. I am tired of getting there at 5:32/5:33pm and not being able to get medications that are badly needed. People who work 9-5 cannot get to the nearest pharmacy before 5:30 safely. read more

I've used Kelsey Pharmacy in Pasadena for years and have always had confidence in their abilities to keep my medications current and sent to me thru a courier. I was hesitant when their lead pharmacist left, but Christopher has filled that position seamlessly. I've made two virtual appointments and went and got some X-rays done for this cough that they're aware has been going on for months. First was told it was allergies, then given two inhalers and X-rays came out clear. Cough is STILL here and after requesting an in person appointment because obviously virtual is not working it's not helping me whatsoever or helping me get rid of this and my message gets viewed by staff and never responded to. Something is wrong and I'm just trying to get help and can't even get it from these doctors. Such a waste of my time AND MONEY. Gonna have to go elsewhere for some actual help. read more

This place is super overpriced. Took my son to get a sports physical and it ended up costing $450 (no-insurance). I payed $230 initially and then received a bill for another $220. I made sure before I left the visit that I didn't owe anything else, they told me I didn't. When I called about the bill they stuck to their script and didn't hear what I was saying and how I felt taken advantage of. They lack empathy or the ability to admit they made a mistake. If I would have known upfront it would cost $450 (even though I asked) I wouldn't in my right mind followed through with the appointment. read more

Absolutely stressful, horrible and deceitful. Back in May 2016 I found out I was pregnant. I went to kelsey seybold thinking everything was going great and it ended up horribly!! I was told and gave authorization for them to pay my deductible. I made payments over a series of months until I reached my deductible in full (I hit 100% in october 2016). My son was born in December 2016. Everything was "fine" until MONTHS later I started getting bills in the mail for my surgery (csection). I called my insurance and K-S multiple times over the next year trying to figure out the issue (they always pointed fingers at each other) so I got no where. APPARENTLY (and I'm just now finding this out in 2019!). They took double payment and didn't say anything! I paid my deductible in full and my insurance paid them in full! They never said a word! They just sat on my money (never told me I had a credit of 1300$ anytime I or my son had a follow up appts, which is a lot after birth and being a newborn) keep in mind I was going in and paying deductibles (and they never said hey you have a 1300$ credit want to use it?) and then after like 6 months my son had an outstanding balance with K-S (my insurance said they would cover him for 30 days under "continuity of care" but kept denying his claims due to billing issues.) So K-S took the 1300$ I didnt know anything about and applied it to his account (WITHOUT EVER TELLING ME THE CREDIT EVER EXSISTED AND WITHOUT EVER PAYING MY DEDUCTIBLE). now I have medical bills coming in from 3 years ago that are saying I owe money because "my deductible wasn't met" EVEN THOUGH I PAID K-S! Absolute scam! They called me about a year after his birth (I still wasnt aware they didn't pay my deductible at this point) and wanted me to do a payment plan, obviously I'm not aggreeing to a payment plan on a bill that Humana was saying they were going to cover, so I declined at the time. Now they're saying that it's my fault and that I should've known they were going to redirect the money to his balance (EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT KNOW THEY KEPT MY AND HUMANAS 1300$ WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING). Shadiest place I've ever been to! Plus they're rude as hell (trey someone in finance was on the phone with myself and a Humana rep and he was so rude, I ended up flipping out because when he was talking he kept repeating the same lines and has a snarky ("its only 1300$ attitude, I could feel the eyerolling through the phone) read more

Dr. Jaime Chavarria is a worthless POS. Doesn't care about the patient - doesn't care about his work - he'll just throw drugs at you without taking the time/effort to evaluate the symptoms/test. Today was my first day visiting Kelsey-Seybold to see Dr. Findley Smith. The only reason I am giving a four star is because the scheduling call center placed me on a schedule that isn't visible by the doctors staff they listed me as a procedure when I was only there for a general office visit never did I mention a procedure to the scheduling dept. Causing for me to be sitting in the waiting area longer than expected. Once I asked the receptionist to look and see how far behind the doctor was cause it was already 30 minutes past my appt. She called the nurses and they checked and saw that I was placed on a different schedule and not theirs they quickly corrected this problem and apologized for the wait and the mistake from the scheduling dept. The place is very nice and clean and the staff was very nice and professional. Dr. Findley Smith was very kind and listened to all my concerns. I will definitely be seeing her again if needed in the future. read more

Wait times are usually very long. You do not feel a personal connection with the doctor because you feel more rushed out the appointment, cannot really ask questions for this reason. Spoke with someone in billing because of an issue I had, she was not at all helpful just more dismissive and threw my issue off to the clinic by saying it was an issue they'd have to have input on... Still have yet to hear back from anyone to see what the outcome was and its been a month. One girl at the front desk is also VERY rude, she will not greet you, will give the impression that you are annoying her just with your presence by the looks she gives along with her body language, will be scrolling through her cell phone while checking you in (happens EVERY time I've checked in with her or that she's been around), my first day in this office I had to ask if I could be seated because she just would not speak and was too busy scrolling through her cell phone! Not sure of her name but she is of African American decent. Had a horrible Interaction with someone named Marissa, will be filling out & send in a full detailed comment card with my awful experience with this lady, because my experience with her was so horrible 5,000 characters is not enough to explain what happened... but for a basic description she is by far the most unprofessional person I've ever met & should NOT be in the medical field interacting with patients!!! Because of her lack of patience and professionalism!! I should emphasize she is the whole reason I am even taking time out to complain on anyone! If it wasn't for her speaking to me the way she did I would have NEVER complained on anyone! All around, not a good place to come to. A FEW people there are great, Carol is one of them as well as the ladies in the Xray areas... They give the impression that they actually want to be there and help you.. read more

Absolutely the best doctors! Our family has been with Kelsey Pasadena for almost 20 years. We have five kids, so you name it, we have seen that specialist. We have always been very impressed with any doctor we have seen. I love the convenience of getting X-rays and bloodwork all done in the same building. My wife and I just wanted a physical. All I called for was to get prices and see when a appointment could be set. I've seen the ads on TV and everyone seems so nice and attentive. Apparently that does not extend to the staff answering the phones. After talking with the business office to get pricing, It was clear I offended her even to ask, and god forbid I ask any follow-up questions. Do they train you specifically to be rude? Just terrible. In recent months I've taken my 90 yr old father to the KS Pasadena clinic several times for office visits and tests. The facility is state-of-the-art, the staff is friendly, and I've been impressed (at times, very impressed) with the doctors and technicians that I've seen. Wait times have always been reasonable, usually only a few minutes. Twice they were ready to see my father 10 minutes before the appointment time. I've been going to Kelsey in Clear Lake for over 10 years and have never had a complaint. That's why I signed up my father for KelseyCare Advantage. read more

I usually go to Clearlake, but went to this location for a special mammogram. Surprised at some of the reviews I read. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and warm. I had no wait time at all. The xray technician was knowledgeable and very friendly. It's a lot closer than I thought. I may be making some changes to go here permanently. read more
