Aldi continues to grow here in the Orlando area and I noticed this new location and I stopped in to check it out (and, of course, inevitably buy an item or three). I guess one could say that I have a love/hate relationship with Aldi, or at least a like/hate relationship with them. While they might present some good values to coincide with good quality, that is not always the case. I guess the best way to describe them is to compare them to an Odd Lots for supermarkets, buy what they can get a great deal on and offer it to their customer base (hopefully at a great price). There is nothing wrong with this business model, but it is not always for me. I also do not like that they do not have a phone in the store (allegedly to save money and pass the savings onto the consumer), have minimal employees working the checkout lanes which can make for a long line when you only have a few items, etc. Would I return here? Absolutely. Should Publix be concerned? Absolutely not. read more

This Aldi location has yet to fail me! *knock on wood* lol every time I've ordered through the Instacart app they HAVE ALL the items I need - I never have to worry if something will be exchanged for another product or refunded! Aldi stores are a best kept secret! My husband and I have done our shopping at Aldi for years now and have saved so much money and time. The Oviedo location is a very nice store and has a dedicated parking lot. There is a traffic light going up here too so it will help with getting in and out. What I love: 1. Saving money - the prices are consistently lower than competitors by many times half or more! Many times a dozen eggs are less or around $1. 2. Saving time - less product choices mean less standing around trying to decide. For someone who suffers from decision anxiety, this is a real plus for me. Who wants to stand around trying to decide between 100 types of yogurt? I save time not having to clip coupons either! Stores are smaller so we are in and out in record shopping time. 3. Great products- Aldi places great products in their stores anyway. Many times they look exactly like the big name brands. They also have been introducing more organic and vegan products. Some may see putting a quarter in for a cart and returning it or bringing your own bags a hassle, but it is WORTH all the money you save. That's how Aldi keep their prices low. Love this Aldi! They recently closed for a few months for the renovation then re-opened back up on May 1. Great store! The renovation made the store larger and with more refrigerator sections. The employees are wearing masks and gloves for the COVID-19 pandemic. There are also plexiglass screens at the registers. read more

The Alafaya location in Oviedo has switched to only self checkout, making large orders very difficult to check out. Cannot believe that no checkout lines were open and despite having a huge order, employees just push you to self checkout. Used to love Aldi but will never shop at this location again. read more

Definitely one of the better Aldi stores in the Orlando area. Looks fairly new. Quite spacious. It's one of those newer layouts where you enter and go left instead of straight. I've noticed that the nicer looking the Aldi, the nicer the produce. Like every other Aldi it's always freezing in here so bring a jacket or a hoodie. The parking lot is a tad cramped but it's usually not too much of a pain to get around. Plus it has its own traffic light which is nice. If you're a fan of the Aldi chain, you'll like this store. read more

My friends have been talking about Aldi and I wanted to see what the deal was myself. My husband and I decided to make a grocery trip one week instead of to Publix or Target. Well, I am glad I did my research before hand and that my friends filled me in on what you're supposed to do (as if there is proper etiquette for shopping at a grocery store...lol) *Bring a quarter for the shopping cart. At first I was like...really? But after I read the website, it made a whole lot of "cents" see what I did there? *boom crash* Seriously, it is one of the ways they are able to offer lower prices. They minimize shopping cart theft or damage. Because you put that quarter in, psychologically it eats at you while you are shopping...that cart has my quarter...must return cart...must get quarter back... Anyhow, its not a big deal. I do have a problem with those toilets that require payment. Just kidding, none in there, but I hear if you visit overseas they do. *Bring your own reusable shopping bags. This was not a big deal at all for me since I have been hoarding/collecting them since I lived in LA and where it is pretty much mandatory out there for fear of looking like a tree chopping, landfill using shopper. It is nice that they do this. If you don't happen to bring enough bags, they will sell you plastic ones or the reusable ones. *Don't put your cart away just yet! This is how it goes - you unload your cart and even before you are finished, the cashier, who I swear is training for the Cashier Olympics, zipped all your groceries into another waiting cart at the end of the counter. When you are done with your cart, do not attempt to put your cart back as I have tried, you will get a prompt reminder from the cashier that you are supposed to leave it at the end of the counter when you move your filled cart, so an empty one is waiting for the next customer. Fun fact - the website says that they put barcodes on every side of a product so the cashier can scan the items quickly, saving time, therefore, saving money. *THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS - Yes, if you are just short of cash this week and need to use credit cards, don't bother shopping here. They only accept cash and debit cards. They don't accept checks because that takes too long and wastes time and money. *You bag your own groceries - Now this was an interesting idea. Though in most stores nowadays I bag my own groceries anyway because Mr. Bagboy has senior citizens to assist out to their car. I'm youngish and able. No problem for me! Once you have your cart load of food ready that the cashier just filled up again, you take your cart and bags to the long counter at the back of the store and proceed to bag everything yourself. That gets you out of the way (no slowpokes here) so they can service more customers. Again, this is another way they save money, by not hiring baggers. Overall, Aldi is a great place to save a lot of money. To give you an idea of the savings. They sold a loaf of white bread for $.50, a box of mac and cheese for $.39. A petit bacon wrapped filet for $2.99 and it goes on. The most expensive thing we bought was a box of kitchen trash bags for $4.69 for 100. If you are a brand-whore, you probably won't like shopping here. It is all their brand generic stuff, which is great if you really don't care and usually buy the Publix brand or Target brand of things. This is yet another way they save you money. It is considerably smaller than regular grocery stores. Smaller =less items = faster turnover = less spoilage/expiration. You should really try it out if you are in the mood to save money. If you do, don't forget your quarter! read more

I have to admit, Aldi is a pretty good store. Yes, before all you haters start comparing it to Publix, stop. It is like comparing apples and oranges. Yes, Aldi lacks the customer service of employees walking around and helping you out or answering questions. Or the 8 cash registers open ready for you to get in and out quickly. Or even the idea of bringing your own bags ... ugh. Maybe we have been spoiled, but honestly, in an effort to save some money, Aldi is a good place to go. Sometimes the products they have are hit and miss, but that is ok. Get a flyer, see what is on sale, and you can get that. But you can always rely on the basics, sugar, flour, eggs, milk. And yes, sometimes the specialty items come in like mascarpone cheese, oh yeah ... can anybody say Tiramisu making time??? And one thing you can can't go wrong with at Aldi, is there chocolate. I'm sorry Hershey's and Lindt, but step aside because the chocolate that Aldi carries, is awesome!!!! read more

I normally love going to Aldi- however yesterday i decided to come to this location because i was in the area and my experience here was absolutely terrible. There was nothing in stock and everything was empty or sold out of. Must of the things in my list i wasn't able to get because they "ran out" of the items. My worst experience on this trip was checking out. Through the check out line i went through Jason's line. He roughly threw all of my groceries into his buggy and cracked my eggs, busted my milk, & smashed my chips and bread. He then told me i needed to take my buggy out of his line to bag my groceries. He was very rude and rough. Everyone that worked there didn't seem to care what they were doing and that they were in a hurry with everything they were doing. I will NOT be going back to this location. I will be contacting the store due to my damaged items as well. read more

I usually don't do reviews on grocery stores, but I felt compelled to write this one. Aldi is very Spartan, but that only benefits, you, the shopper. Not many stockers or cashier, bring your own bags, and you need to return your cart. This cuts down on their costs, ie. paying employees, but do you think Publix eat all those extra costs for employees and "free" paper and plastic bags. Absolutely not, they increase the price of what they sell to cover that. Also average package of chicken breasts at Publix average around $7-8, at Aldi it's around $4-5. Now, I know what you are thinking, the chicken breast at Publix are bigger. At first glance that may seem true, but Publix in my experience injects their breast with water (if you don't believe me weight the chicken before and after you cook it - I lost almost 1 lb just from cooking). Now there are some off brands here, but I saw pop tarts and Betty Crocker, and they may not be as good on a one-stop-store. From here on out this will be the first place I go for all my meat/protein needs. read more

We're fans of this place. This is a great place if you're on a tight budget and need to feed your family. Tips: *Bring a quarter for the shopping carts *Bring your own bags. We wouldn't recommend the produce, other than the large bag of potatoes. We love the wine and chocolate. We shop here for pantry staples such as: flour, sugar, eggs, peanut butter, shredded cheese, chips and crackers. We cut our food bill by half by using Aldis alone for these items. read more

This is my favorite neighborhood supermarket. Tons of all natural products, non GMO, great organic and gluten free item selection, great meat and cheese selection at prices you can't beat. Not to mention they have the best bratwurst sausages, and tons of European products I love and miss. I honestly don't shop anywhere else! ALDI - Aldi parking lot - Grocery Near Me - Oviedo, Florida

Tried to like these Aldi stores, really did, but you go in there and you see dollar store products for about 50 % more then dollar tree. Granted they sell higher priced products as well. They open a new store and advertise jobs paying $10.00 an hour. Well when you pretty much have two employees out on the floor, and one of them running a register I guess you can pay that. That one employee is so overloaded with customers. I think their checkout is insanely slow. I really don't get the attraction to this place, I don't see many name brand products. What I do see are prices that aren't that great. I picked up a bottle of vinegar and I know I can get a bigger bottle at Walmart for less money. I have never heard of these brands, if you need an example look at their cookie selection. They sell cookies that look like cardboard. You know what kind I mean, the kind Publix sells for like $1.99, but with a brand you just can't trust. Too me going to this store is a big waste of time, I can't recall but think they do not accept credit cards, which is always a pain. read more

I like to refer to Aldi as "the middle way". It is not a trashy dollar store or Winn-Dixie but it is not as nice as a Publix. The store is known for having off brand products that are comparable to name brand products. Some are just as good...others not so much. I typically purchase cereal, meat, fish, veggies, bread, and milk at Aldi and can say that everything I buy is comparable to the name brands I would get at Publix. The difference is my bill at Aldi is usually around $35 while the same list would cost me about $50 at Publix. If you can live with "Happy Farms" instead of "TG Lee" and "Good Grains" instead of "General Mills" then Aldi is a great place to save money! read more

I went here for the first time after hearing about the place from my brothers girlfriend. I was skeptical because I was told that they don't have name brand stuff, the only one I recognized was Coca-Cola. I decided to look around and saw that some items are a few cents cheaper than name brand and that others had significant savings. For example, milk, beef and pizza crust are cheaper at Aldi versus Publix or Walmart. Items like Coca Cola (12 packs) and chicken is only slightly cheaper at Aldi. I already cooked the chicken wings I bought from this place and they taste just the same as anywhere else. I'm going to have to try the other meats, but I'm more than likely to go back to this location. read more

My mother loves Aldi. These yelp reviewer's love Aldi. So I had high expectations when I first went yesterday. I have to say I didn't love it.The fruit/vegetable section is small and a mess. I couldn't focus! Truthfully I thought the whole store looked in disarray . I did like that I was able to see item prices and the cashier was nice.
