There's a large selection of citrus fruits, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers of all sorts. On this particular adventure I was looking for something fresh and a tasty snack. I wound up purchasing two green peppers and two red tomatoes that were on sale. A lot of their on sale produce is first in, first out; thus saying, still very fresh but perhaps not as fresh as what was just picked and ready on the regular shelves. Their was a very sweet lady who showed me around their pepper selection and at the end of my produce journey the total came to $2.12 for four beautiful and later very tasty and juicy vegetables. I'll definitely be returning for their fresh produce and sweet southern unique charm and the shaded willow trees that happily cool my car while I shop. Overall fantastic quality and a unique location.

I was originally referred to 4 Girvins by the owners of Everoak Farm and started ordering their eggs, meat & produce. It's so easy to order online and have it delivered to my doorstep! But now the convenience is even better because I can stop by the farm store on any day that I need to grab a few items. It has also helped introduce me to other items they sell - like their sourdough cinnamon sugar bagels, Musgrove dairy butter, and 2nd Breakfast mangoes! It's nice to see the different cuts of meat - from chicken, to pork and beef - and knowing they are all locally raised using the best farming practices. This past week I picked up a large whole chicken for $34, a flat of eggs for $18, various herbs like sage, thyme & rosemary for $2 each. The prices match the quality and the investment you are making in your health, the environment, and your local economy. For me, it's a worthy investment. I frequent the Audubon Community Market on Mondays and if you're a fan of that market, you'll love this farm store! It's located right next to Kelly's ice cream and Chiffon Culture bakery - both wonderful local businesses - sharing the shopping plaza with other gems like The Owl's Attic and Coro. If you haven't been to this neighborhood, consider this your sign! Across the street is East End Market, the birthplace of this booming local scene. 4 Girvins placed themselves in the perfect location and so now it is our job to shop local and support our local farmers!

All of these are from farmers or more artisan businesses and it's a great way to support local. Pricing is going to be more premium - if you're looking for deals, look at a chain store and not here. I bought a half dozen of premium chocolate chip sourdough cookies to share with my folks for $18. (Pricey but delicious and they were fresh - no preservatives or additives you find in generic grocery store or mass-made cookies.) The staff were friendly and working to stock the store quickly. On those days it's like I just picked it from my garden. The customer service can be exceptional. Most of the employees give great service. However, there is one employee who seems to get testy as she seems to allow her moods to rule how she interacts with customers. She seems to be selective too, as I've seen her treat some customers badly and others well on the same day. She use to be nice with me until one day she accidently short changed me. When I brought it to her attention, she denied it. I smiled and said, "Well it's only a few cents anyway. If you find your register is over at the end of the day, you'll know where it came from." I had given her a quarter; she counted it as a nickel. It's very immature and unprofessional and petty to hold such a grudge, thus I couldn't give 5 stars. But I don't let that stop me from enjoying the good qualities of shopping locally. We are blessed to have a family run produce market in our neighborhood where most of the service providers take pride in their quality goods. They even have a few organic options.
