This is a smaller ALDI but it has a good selection. The staff is always very pleasant, which is a nice bonus!

I recently stopped by Pete's Fruit Market for the first time after hearing about it. As soon as I…read morewalked in, I saw buckets of vegetables: peppers, tomatoes, squash, you name it. Most buckets seemed to be about 6-8 inches in diameter and prices ranged from $1 to $5. I only wish they offer smaller buckets instead of such a big bucket. It is hard to buy in bulk with smaller household and I don't like to freeze produce. I was curious about the quality of the produce, but I wasn't too impressed. For example, the apricots looked a little banged up--kind of like the "misfit" produce I've seen before. There was upbeat Mexican music playing, which gave the place a fun vibe, and the store itself isn't that big. A security guard was stationed outside. They had yellow-flesh watermelon at $0.99/lb, and giant seeded watermelons for $16 each--which felt pricey, especially since I had just come from Costco where I got a decent-sized watermelon for $6 (though admittedly smaller than the ones at Pete's). I also noticed mangoes going for $2 each, which again felt steep. I had been hoping to find some Mexican pastries, but nothing really stood out, and there weren't any prepared foods available. However, I saw they got a catering menu which I thought it might be good to have a food court selling those items. I was expecting something more like La Michoacana or Fiesta stores in Texas, but this wasn't it. In the end, I just picked up a few Mexican candies like Pulparindo and called it a day. I was a bit disappointed with the fruit selection, especially the lack of tropical options. On the plus side, they have a fairly large, gated parking lot, which is convenient. I'm glad I visited, but not sure I'll be rushing back anytime soon.

I love Pete's especially during the holidays it enables you to get many vegetables and fruits to…read morefeed the family without paying high prices

They provide amazingly fresh produce and often find great deals especially if you join their club. They are also my go to to pick up salmon as it is always priced at a great deal. I picked up some sushi since recently getting into it and developed a craving and was highly satisfied! Staff was friendly and pointed me right to what I was looking for which I appreciate a lot. I love that they have cold pressed juice here. And think it's cool they offer fresh pressed peanut butter- I think that makes them stand out. I grabbed there magazine they had displayed by the carts and it had some really great recipes for those like myself wanting to continue strong prioritizing health. Fresh thyme is like a more organic feeling pick n'save. They do have seating to sit down and eat at this location which I've done before and have a pleasent view of the city street. They serve hot soup, I've gotten their cheesy broccoli when I was sick and it was creamy and what I would hope to expect. I've gotten lucky with parking in a slot right outside the store but they actually have a parking structure too which is such a stress relief when parking in the city can be a pain! There's a beautiful sidewalk to walk alongside the river just 30 feet down from the entrance as well with benches when the weathers nice and you just want to grab a drink and snack and sit for a minute.
