It's a grocer, a deli, a wine merchant, a cheese purveyor, a beer seller, a baker of sweet and savoury, it sells frozen fish, chocolates, crisps, clothing, air fryers, it has in - house cafes in Italy, liquidisers in fact it's very diverse for gum boots to gummy bears.
It has German roots and might still be private family owned like Haribo. It's cracked Ireland (but not in Northern Ireland) the UK and all Western Europe. It's renowned for good value and mostly sells quality stuff. I prefer it to Lidl but I rarely buy in either.
We needed some wine and beer. The wine we chose was rosé at €1.99 a bottle. Did the job admirably and quality Portuguese lager beer at €1.79 a litre. I got a stout to try which was ace.
Oh and most important we got a bottle of Irish whiskey at €11.99 or half the price of home.
As we ambled I spotted Trader Joe nut assortments and we had to grab a few. Their quality was great.
There was one charming check out operator.
